  1. Perhaps a specially long one when we lift the cup, though? Well done to all involved. "a bit young to have seen Ray Wilkins"....ffs...I was just "a bit under 30" then
  2. Yes, I realise the difference it makes or rather can make - a lot depends on what you do when you get there. Last year lost us money and face and thoroughly depressed paying spectators. We need to get through three rounds just to qualify, I doubt many managers looking in would be counting on us negotiating that. PS I love going to away European games more than any other fixtures, I should add. Also that I meant any Scottish club qualifying for the tournament proper. The SPHell is now so far behind that it gets rarer and rarer.
  3. Missing out on Europe, you mean? Then again, I'm not sure how big a loss it would be - unlikely to be in long enough to make more money than we'd bring in from the extra League Cup rounds. Certainly not a huge difference. I would like to say I just want us to concentrate on stopping them next year in any case - though an awful lot has to change for that to sound a realistic aim. (Change for us, for them and in Scottish football and society because if we ever get near the dark forces aligned against us will grow even more hysterical and extreme) I think it would be hard - especially as we could be looking for a caretaker again after a few months unless they get it right.
  4. I will forever be grateful to Dave King for being the prime mover in saving our club and wresting it from the hands of the reptiles who were destroying us. I'll always be grateful for the money he has put in. However, "gravitas" is not only something that he does not bring to the table but is also one of the last words I would think of with which to describe him. The last time we had someone leading us who had that quality was decades ago, alas. It used to be the norm, but that is becoming a distant memory.
  5. Sorry, Bill my memory isn't up to it and not living in Scotland, the names don't meant that much to me. It was as bad as those we see from other parties and was discussed on FF and here, I think anyway, as being a sign that even the Tories were against us. Perhaps someone with a better memory can help. It may have been after the Cup Final Fracas rather than last season - but definitely no further back than that.
  6. We are so hated that even a Tory (councillor, I think, but cannot recall exactly ) tweeted horrendous stuff against us last season, too.
  7. I see Boyd has scored to give them the lead. I note at the same time that Naismith and Lafferty have scored for Hearts. I think it's time I stopped looking at the Scottish updates
  8. There's a video going around of Bears being attacked outside the Old Govan Arms (it's on FF, for example). Just when my blood pressure was leaving the highly critical stage too. Something to be thankful for, though - we'll all wake up in the morning still Bears.
  9. I leave you with the Guardian summary. Interesting to see an outsider's take: That was fantastic. A game of pace, aggression, attitude and skill – along with plenty of affirming hatred – featuring four great goals, one very good goal, a red card, and a title more or less decided; Celtic are now nine points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand. However, make no mistake: Rangers are on the way back, nurturing a compelling youthfulness and swagger. If they can add some control, they’ll be a serious force next season, https://www.theguardian.com/football/live/2018/mar/11/rangers-v-celtic-scottish-premiership-live Updated at 1.57pm GMT Share
  10. Apart from anything else, Goss was likely to see red given he was on a yellow, going in rashly, and the ref would love to have had an excuse to "even things up"
  11. Certainly not much to win the league unless they strengthen to some tune in the Summer. Which I fear they will as that was a poor looking team they had out today.............which makes it all the harder to take.
  12. Not Alfie's game in front of goal. The chance just before they went ahead at 2-2 and now this, unbelievable, open goal
  13. Someone give me some confidence, please, as it is not looking like it
  14. Unbelievable and Thomson is saying it was not deliberate. He looked at him, took aim and elbowed him. What is wrong with these people?
  15. Yes, it did seem to be coming but the manner of it was shocking. I had my eyes closed at corner after corner but we survived all those only to be caught out by Brown (of all bloody folk) punting it long up the park. Cardoso and Wes all over the place. I guess they've not been playing together for a while but alas they made Dembele's mind up for him and he'll now be sky high in the confidence stakes. You'd have to think with these defences that more goals will come.
  16. dammit dammit it all to hell 2-2 I was desperate to get to half time
  17. He kept his head and drilled it in, keeping the ball low. I had lost my head as the ball came across the box I dreamt about playing in these games - as we all did - as I was growing up but I never could have done it. I'd have been in hospital or sent off within a minute. to score right in front of that shower of yahoos...ectasy...
