  1. More money down the tube with the new contract he got. He's 21 and had virtually no first team experience. I'm a bit sick of us treating people in their early 20's as teenagers. Players should be getting regular exposure from 17/18 (not burning them out but at least giving them sub appearances and the odd start) and by 18/19/20 we should know whether they will have a future or not. We still had Jordan McMillan warming the bench at 23 with practically zero chances in the first team. What is the point? I swear we treat all our younger players as if they're a few years younger than they actually are. If we started playing promising youngsters more from 17/18, they might develop into better players.
  2. Had no issue at all with Provan during this commentary, always found him to be a good co-commentator and he deservedly gets a lot of premiership games now. Good to see Keys and Gray back on televised matches, shame it's on Al Jazeera though.... PS - Mata got hooked an hour into the match. Doesn't look like he has much of a future under jose
  3. It says a lot about the mess we're in when I'm not all that bothered about the prospect of Murray re-joining despite the fact that: A - He was complicit when we spiralled into yet another financial meltdown, to such an extent that that bank had to take control and sort the situation out themselves. A pretty unheard of situation for such a large club. B - He made several laughable bids for the club, one based on later participation on the Champions League. C - His 'vision' for the club has frequently been worrying eg mortgaging more ticket sales to Ticketus and increasing our debt to generate money. But given pretty much every board member we ever seem to have is a snake, welcome aboard. At least if Murray's on board we get Jim McColl, who has a worrying lack of intent to purchase us but should be a custodian that can finally be trusted.
  4. The team would probably do better with a wax work dummy standing on the touchline.
  5. We were playing fucking Forfar.
  6. Yes but none of that is going to happen sadly. I've been hoping for such a thing since the early 00's but have given up hope. The best we can hope for is getting in a half decent manager who keeps the ball on the deck.
  7. It's McLeish all over again. Probably even much worse. At least Eck gave a couple of good seasons before turning into a joke
  8. Good for them. Possibly it's because they know how atrocious the manager is.
  9. is Der Berliner for real? He lives on a different planet from the rest of us.
  10. Aye, blaming the managing for the team playing shite. Imagine that. No wonder he's kept in a job with folk like you in our support. We've been regularly ran rings around in Europe by clubs on a similar or even much lower wage bill than what we currently have.
  11. No, we had worse last season. To be honest, I probably rated our chances of beating Forfar in the cup no more than 50/50.
  12. Are you completely pished or just on the windup?
  13. More to the point, if we were able to attack with a degree of skill, creativity and ability, we wouldn't be struggling to score against rotten teams like Forfar. To be honest, some lines of thinking are just not worth arguing with. You just know that if we lost games but played good football, Calscot would be emphasising the importance of the level of football we were producing. He is a handwringer that just goes against the grain.
  14. The better a team performs, the more likely they are to achieve success in the long term. If you look at the champions league, you generally don't see teams in the later stages who play football like we do. And most of us do want some level of entertainment. Clearly you don't because it suits your current agenda.
  15. 5 years? What on earth do you base that on? There's plenty managers who could come in and get the current squad playing decent stuff tomorrow. Nobody is expecting total football, just a basic game played correctly on the deck. Pass and move. Simple.
  16. Thumped them to a 2-2 draw? It was Copenhagen they thumped in Europe that year. PS - With regard to the OP, I have no doubt Calderwood is a far, far superior manager to Ally but that doesn't mean he's a particularly decent manager nor is he the man for the job. The guys an unemployed former SPL manager for a reason.
  17. The sad thing is losing to Forfar in the cup isn't even an upset. It's expected. Just like the dross football.
  18. We should win it yes but I don't see it happening.
  19. I can understand McCoist's reluctance to leave. I can't see anyone else having him.
  20. One thing I like about Green is he has Ally's card marked. Should have replaced him when he came in.
