  1. The silence is deafening.

The board needs to get their finger out and fast.

Get their finger out and do what exactly - attract a top quality manager, top quality players plus huge investment into club in Div 2 in Scotland.

What planet are you on? A massive reality check is required by so many! The fantasy has to stop.

  2. This ignores Radio Five using Roddy Forsyth, Gordon Smith, Stuart McCall and Terry Butcher too. Sutton had a high profile in England, winning the league with Blackburn, playing for Chelsea, Norwich and his country he was once the most expensive player in the country. I hate him but you need to go some to suggest he's a nobody.

I've no real issue with D'art's piece, but the quote above is one-eyed in the extreme.

Although this comes up often when the football stops it's worth trying to understand why some people who culturally or socially shouldn't be obviously 'anti-Rangers' often are.

    PS What does 'anti-LO' mean?

As a long term listener and fan of 5 my post is intended as a snapshot of my perception of the direction the station has taken not a thesis on it. My perceptions are not limited to how they report football, far from it. The skew is obvious (to me) across the spectrum. I listen to it daily. I simply expect balanced reporting on all issues from our national broadcaster - the institution that makes me pay a licence fee for the privilege of them pontificating to me! But when they give me Greenslade and his likes I have to baulk.

    Some points -

    1. I had no idea Roddy Forsyth is considered pro Rangers. I don't mind the guy but he has got my back up plenty of times with his views on us.

    2. Gordon Smith could hardly be called a regular on 5.

    3. Stuart McCall - as above.

    4. Terry Butcher - as above. His link to 5 is primarily due to his captaincy of England.

    5. Sutton was invited on to an entertainment show on 5, not a football show, as a guest for a 30 minute slot. Producer says to self - Oh yes, I know who we need this week.....Chris Sutton, that will pull the punters in..............dream on! All about contacts and scratching backs!

P.S. Forget LOs, you would not understand, not in a million years!

Is it really just poor journalism by this organisation or is it symptomatic of an institutional hatred towards our club ?

Radio 5 Live is the perfect example. Their anti-union, anti-LOs, anti-Rangers bias is becoming more obvious by the day. The presenters, their "guests", their "pundits" are all cherry picked and obviously no friends of the Union or Rangers. Campbell's opinions in particular have flip-flopped completely since he did the "who do think you are ?" TV show.

Regular pundits include - Nevin, Hartson, Lennon and others. A recent radio show guest was Sutton. Why Sutton, who gives a flying one about him apart from you know who! Jobs for the bhoys and ghirls!

It's no accident either. A road is being paved..........

  4. Had we scraped past Motherwell, we would likely have kept the same manager. Much of the same players would likely have been kept too. Not much would have changed. It would have been more of the same. We would have gone up to the SPL, struggled massively, and found ourselves in a year or 2 discussing who should be the next manager, having watched awful football on a weekly basis. The SPL isn't something to fear but as can be seen today, it would be with poor management and players.

I think a 6-1 defeat to Motherwell shows there is absolutely no doubt that the club needs completely gutted. We need new management with progressive ideas, new coaching methods, a new squad - everything must change. This is something that has always needed to happen but since Dick Advocaat left we have had very little progressive ideas at the club.

While playing in the Championship next season is a morbid thought, at least the board can be under no illusion as to the scale of the task at hand, and that an overhaul must happen this summer.

Total nonsense. Why add the hurdle of getting out the Championship?? As this year has proven there are no guarantees.

Financially it's a disaster. More empty seats will result and therefore less revenue.

Also how are we going to attract the quality of player or manager we need to the Scottish second tier.

Not going up has set us back no end.

Although you do seem to revel in our inadequacies so at least one person will be very happy.

  5. Can we have a McLeish bashing smilie as I want to use it. He was not a good manager and never will be.:basher: McLeish basher.:throwpc:

Can we also have a happy pill for SBS smiley. The guy is utterly depressing and does nothing but continuously bash the team. What joy does he get out of supporting RFC?

A "get real" smiley should also be considered IMHO. Some folk are just living in cloud cuckoo land in terms of what/where Rangers are now in Scottish/UK/European football.

  6. Yet all three managers this season continued to select him. Incredible

Perhaps they had no choice? Ridiculous clauses in even more stupid contracts??

Nothing would surprise me anymore, especially if Ally was involved.

  7. His side of the story is simple , he wouldn't back cg, however 1 million 1p shares soon changed that and the cry became buy your season tickets and roll up roll up .he left us with an over paid squad of mercaneries and he was the ring leader , he should have been sacked after the raith rovers karaoke debacle .

I can't argue with that. Much as it pains me to say it!

  8. A no-mark attempting to engender a situation whereby he can create a status outwith his present standing. That last tweet tells us how intuative he is.

    Bypass this comentator.

The backwater that is MSM Scottish Football journalism is a stagnant pond, void of almost any meaningful life.

Same tired old anti-Rangers prejudices trotted out ad nauseam

  9. Oh by God, I don't think anyone could say the bold Rab hasn't been entitled to his opinion on this one, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over.....................

It could well turn out to be a case of dreams coming true for a few Bears.

Gets Rangers nowhere but hey they get their moment in the sun.

  10. McCoist and McCulloch dear god

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. At the time we were being beaten to a pulp on a daily basis by Scottish press, Scottish society, Scottish footballing authorities, BBC Scotland and more...

The guys depicted stood by Rangers against that relentless onslaught of anti-Rangers hatred at the time.

    I thank them or that.
