  1. I haven't been in it yet, but it should be easy enough to find out if it's still open.

I quite like the Lounge in the Louden. Just don't sing FTP or any other frowned upon add-ons! :flute::D

Licensing Laws to abide by :)

  2. Thanks for getting back to me.

You'll remember the RFFF firing up? Too few questions were asked of it and subsequently many people have come to regret paying into it. It was a mess from the off but asking serious questions, in some quarters, was deemed to be an act of disloyalty. Basically, it seemed to be about getting the money in and sorting out the details later. It was obvious straight away that it was a glorified way of passing the hat round, but most didn't care about answers never mind questions.

Lessons have to be learned. We should ask searching questions of fan groups when they ask for our money.

The idea of paying over a monthly sum to RF - in perpetuity - when its vision seems vague does not appeal to me. Fan ownership may still be a long way off, but I'll be riding the RST vehicle. I've paid my money, I have my share, my annual membership will continue and my monthly outgoing is zero.

    Thanks for the answers.

Am I right in thinking then that you aren't going to purchase more shares then if you arent having any monthly outgoings?

  3. Tell me exactly what RF stands for. Greg here seems happy for it to be a minority shareholder, which I find quite absurd.

    Is Greg right?

Yup being the biggest minority shareholder would be fine with me. As long as we have greater than 25% we can veto any sale of major assets. Being a Plc that would give us an extremely strong position imho. However if the facts changed then my opinions might.

But that's a personal opinion. One member one vote. Other members may desire full ownership and could vote accordingly. Life in a democracy eh

  4. Frankly, I do not believe this is their long term goal. In a recent discussion with one of their leading members it was suggested that that a minority share would be enough.

    I don't disbelieve him.

And I don't agree with him.

I even spoke to someone on here who said that he joined RF specifically because it was not about fan ownership. He's either not very bright or he's wrong - and he seemed quite sharp to me.

Any 'leading member' only has one vote.

RF is member led - personally I don't see the need to go for a full takeover - staying just below the 30% mark would be my vote.

But I'm one member - RF will be decided by what the members want it to do. Its flexible.

I signed up to RF because I believe that it can help the club both at boardroom level and on the pitch going into the future.

  5. Flinging my hat in.:)

    1. An established community which already owns more than half a million shares

    2. Shares transferable

    3. Refunds allowed

    4. Direct Debit or Single payment options

    5. Democratic on line voting on shareholder resolutions

    6. Umbrella Body RST will participate with Union of Fans lobbying on crucial issues affecting club.

Personally I think the main difference is the vehicle - CIC's are more flexible allowing various ways of getting shares under the control of RF. I like the monthly membership that goes in perpetuity so that we will always be increasing the shareholding rather than having to encourage people to have to buy another set of shares after a set period. I also like the idea of in the future (once the board room stuff is settled & the fans have authoritative consultative transparency ) that RF can do more than just buy shares, doing specifically contracted ventures that are voted on and agreed by the membership that will benefit the Rangers Community

RF also has an established membership that is growing in the last while - 400k shares with money to purchase more at the suspected upcoming issue.

All shares that RF own are protected by an asset lock, so investing in RF is putting money into the betterment of Rangers indefinitely.

4/5 are also the same - Though am I right in saying that BR shares are voted on by the RST membership? Whereas RF is one member one vote so that everyone who is contributing to the acquirement of shares has an equal say. So for instance, I am a member of The RST so I have a say in how BR's shares are voted for even though I don't have a community share?

RF as an organisation is apolitical - All members are welcome to hold whatever opinions they like but RF will only do what their members vote upon - Its all about being member led and its something that I agree with from a personal point of view.

I am obviously a big proponent of RF but at the end of the day I am only interested in the future of the club and the support. Whatever is good for the club I'll support. If people think that BR is the best option then I'm delighted that they are doing something to try and help the club.

  6. Dunno mate, I'm assuming elections. Maybe Craig's speech seemed long? Couldn't say otherwise.

There was talk of specific committees being set up and volunteers being needed for each of them - but you could be right.

Craig does go on a bit :) But I always find a passionate speech interesting in its own way - though maybe I'm easily amused

  7. The RST got around £13m in pledges a few years ago when things looked grim. I'm sure you are aware of this. That's not too bad for an organisation that some choose not to like.

The RST is for Rangers supporters - it is a vehicle to achieve a better Rangers - a fan-owned Rangers.

It is there for all of us. You and I know that people will try to shout it down for whatever reason, but it is standing the test of time and it will continue to believe in the fan ownership model.

Sometimes I like the people on the RST board, sometimes not, but I stick around because my aim for Rangers is shared by the RST.

It's a bit like supporting Rangers. Sometimes the high-ups are a disappointment, but the allegiance still remains firm.

There is more than one fan ownership vehicle and group - thats not a bad thing IMO, its just a fact.

As long as people are willing work together for the betterment of the club then there should be no issue.

Discounting VB as I have no information on their scheme - RF and BR have hundreds of thousands of shares in the club and combined is over 1m shares. Its a decent start but we need more.

We also need to work to get the proxy votes of the average Rangers Fan shareholder in the build up to the next general meeting.

The FO lads have a lot of work ahead of themselves.

  8. From what I've gathered all up for election were voted in. No new names apart from Ross McAdam and someone else I can't remember was voted on from being co-opted earlier in the year. No contested election with some spaces left for being co-opted on.

Craig Houston got a chance to talk through the SoS and apparently talked too much - 45 minutes.:(

Does he not mean about the committees that DJ it setting up?

Craig's speech was a bit on the long side didn't think it was anywhere near 45 mins though.

  9. To be fair, one game is a Saturday and one is a Tuesday. The Tuesday crowd is going to reduce by at least 50% no matter what.

Fair point but I believe the filling it on the Saturday will be the interesting one. If we can jump to a near sellout from an average of 35k (at best) then it shows that there are thousands and thousands who want change. If the attendance is roughly the same then we'll know it's the football/apathy.

    That's my take from it

  10. Well I think most of what transpired last night has been covered.

What I will say is I think it's a bold choice to try to fill the ground one week then empty it the next. If successful it will show many that the reduction in attendance is due to ill felling towards the current regime rather than apathy with the football. I think that's quite brave

  11. I am not going to this (in London tomorrow), but got the jist of it from CH at the RST AGM last Friday night. It is clear they are going to call for a boycott, but unclear how many games they are going to call it for. It was ironic that of the two or three who indicated they were in agreement with a boycott, they had indicated that they had already stopped going anyway. Dont know why they voted then but hey-ho.

I believe the boycott is wrong, and I told CH that on Friday. He is clearly a very frustrated Bear, like a lot of us, who is trying to do something he hopes will force more pressure on the board/shareholders to sell up and leave. On one hand he believes that the board will put us into Admin ONLY if it suits their (unknown to us) agenda, and if Admin is not in their interests then it wont happen. I had to ask why in that case call for a boycott when even an empty ground wont put us into admin or get rid of them unless it suits them? Better than doing nothing was pretty much the reply and it was turned round to ask what I was doing instead. While I wasn't the one calling for the boycott, I believe the only way to get our club back is to buy it back, paying them whatever is necessary to get rid of them.

If only we had a share scheme or two where Rangers supporters could go and buy shares in the club and therefore increase our shareholding, clout and potentially get enough to get a veto on ground sale/leaseback.

It seems like a long way away given the current shareholding, but the ordinary fans already hold about 12% of the club individually, with the share schemes are now at around 1% each I think. If there are 80M issued shares at a current price of around 20p, that is around £16M for the lot. We dont need the lot, we need around 25% collectively and we are halfway there already. If every fan who has not gone back this season (around 20,000) were to pay their ticket money (£20) into a share scheme instead for every home game this season so far, we would already have £2.8M in a bank account which could buy us 14M shares.

And that is without any overseas bears or bears who have gone to the games contributing at all.

We could buy our club in a matter of months if we had the right marketing, motivation, unity and personalities involved. We should have done it in administration but we all waited on the Millionaire of choice turning up with a suitcase and we got Chuck instead. We cant go back and have our time again, but there is absolutely nothing to stop us doing it now. Nothing other than apathy, amatuerism, and a lack of cohesion.

I was there on Friday too (I'm the youngish guy who was up the back :) )- I'm also against a boycott in principle.

I would rather if action was to happen it to be a 'walk-out' kind of thing that has often been mentioned.

But I'm going along tomorrow night to hear what Craig and co say - I always think it is worth listening to the opinions of others.

  13. I'd be absolutely astounded if Paul Murray or George Letham claimed they were actually representatives of Dave King.

I would be surprised also - based on the limited information that I have.

It does seem like the use of PM to 'poision the well' as is commonplace in some areas of the support online.

All this propaganda does our club no favours.

  14. I also got an alert from google that there was unauthorised attempted log in to my email on Sunday night. Source was from Belfast according to Google.

I had one of them a few months ago but the source was something like Missouri lol - figure that was just a random one

  15. Someone tried to hack our twitter about 2 weeks ago - twitter was on the ball and made us change our password before anything could happen.

So its happening to the Rangers community.

  16. I hope RF holds onto every penny they have left and every penny brought in until there's a new share/rights issue because the share price is almost certain to be lower at that point than ever before.

It wouldn't surprise me to see that be the case bud. Though I'm personally unsure with regards to what the next issue will consist of and if current shareholders will have an entitlement or not.
