  1. "Political language... is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind."

    George Orwell

The financial abundance preacher who doesn't come cheap is spinning a line for all he is worth.

It makes you wonder about others who concur with his views.

  2. Selective facts there - no mention of winning the league this year by near 40 points.

With the resources available we should have, as an absolute MINIMUM won the league and the Ramsdens Cup

    he didn't achieve it.

  3. This is the kind of signing you get when you have no scouting department of the name. It's lazy, lacks foresight and will hardly excite the support.

However, Miller remains a good player and will provide much needed mobility and effervescence up front. But for how long will his legs last as his athleticism has always been his best strength.

I'd agree but depending on the wage he may prove to be a bargain.

If however, he's earning 10K a week and plays 33% of matches due to injury then he's just another in a long line to join the Elephant's graveyard that Ibrox has become.

  4. Rather than pin blame on Ally McCoist and the football department in general or the executive board and powers in and around the board,....I'd point to the club being an Omnishambles at just about all levels.

However there is an important difference between the football and the executive board and that is the former isn't very good whilst the latter has been designed to extract money.

i'd agree that the club in its entirety from Boardroom to pitch is indeed a shambles.

However, to admonish the management and players from extracting cash for little return is wrong.

800K a year with 100% bonuses for winning division 3 with a worse record than East fife managed - disgusting.

  5. The fact is we were never going to be playing like Barcelona in these lower leagues.

Before Naismiths injury pre admin we were playing some really good football (dare I say it the best in a long time), people tend to forget that and focus on the capitulation later in the season as the threat of admin became a factor.

I am willing to give Ally the chance to get us back to the top (2 more seasons) the man will come good but we need to back him - some of the comments recently on here have been shambolic. I really hope some people on here are made to eat their words.

Not really we were humiliated in Europe by 2 minnows including an experiment with 3 at the back including 40 year old DW.

We then lost to the youths of Falkirk managed by managerial genius stephen teethgrinder pressley.

The football overwhelmingly since ally took over has been abysmal to watch.

The final straw really was Raith Rovers in the Ramsdens Cup.

How he is still Rangers manager beggars belief and that is before you take into account what he's earned while the club slides to bankruptcy , again.

  6. McCulloch should not have got a 2-year contract, he and Black are overpaid, Simonsen was an expensive indulgence as was Cribari but we needed an experienced CB at the time, Foster is a decent player at this level and probably the next, Daly was a mistake, Faure is our best CB but played out of position most of the time which is not his fault, Hutton has been unfortunate with injury but what is wrong with Bell and Templeton (our only genuinely creative player) except perhaps again their salaries which are down to Green. Wallace cannot do anything about any of those except Simonsen, Cribari and Hutton whose contracts are up.

Without wishing to re-open the SDM debate and acknowledging that he lost it laterly; he gave us a team which included a world class players in Laudrup and top European players like Gascoigne and Mikhailechenko, leading to nine-in-a row; what more do you want? Calling him a "charlatan" is a long way wide of the mark; I'm sure that even his biggest detractors would not say that.

Murray destroyed Rangers on and off the park.

The current mess was directly caused by him.

  7. Whilst I do see your point, I should point out the difference between my stance, and that of the UoF. At the time I decided it was not for me, the club was doing relatively well, with supporters coming out of the woodwork and new supporters clubs popping up left right & centre. I made my decision, and never encouraged others to follow my lead. each to their own. The UoF and their ilk, are actively discouraging fans to withdraw their custom, en masse. I'm sure I needn't point out to you the damage they could do the club, in contrast with my unilateral decision not to spend hours travelling to Ibrox to cheer on tims in blue jerseys. The protest of today could see us with no club tomorrow. As was the plan from Day 1 for the cabal.

    No they're not.

They are asking the Board to secure the Season Ticket money against the Stadium. ALL of the money will be paid to the club upon receipt of that security.

This is in response to the "loans" secured against other assets this Board deemed acceptable to pay for this season's shortfall in income.

  8. Well, you see the intent. Last day of the season ere a rather long summer break comes up. We are on the brink of an unbeaten run for the first time in 100 years. And right on cue, the BBC and their media cohorts come up with this shyte. What is dissappointing is the so many fall for it ... again.

We all knew those figures for weeks. The story has been done to death, yet, the same arguments are being thrown about about "club on its knees", "asking players for wage cuts" and whatnot. What is somewhat astonishing is that IMHO these figures are not even as high as one might expect them to be to cause this sort of public outcry. A neatly driven media (and I dare say "pretenders") campaign to discredit the board, using the same arguments and fears and figures time and again. And it is quite obvious that the combined fanhood lead by the SoS and UoB join in. Mission accomplished.

NB: I do not say that I like what he gets or that he's got bonuses written into his contract. But all you on here have lived and rown up with capitalism 20 years longer than me and wonder that chairmen and CEOs of companies get apparently top notch salaries? Whatever the state of the company is? (Sidenote: unless I am mistaken, Wallace still gets less than e.g. McCulloch and Black p.a. ... )

    Good grief.

  9. It's 1000 Season Tickets. It won't make us suffer as severely as a drop in ST sales of - say 12K to 15K.

Sooner or later we have to cleanse ourselves of all these leeches - CW's spurious claims as well. The Club can't function properly with such threats hanging over us.

As far as I can see there are two methods. Admin 2 or payoffs.

    Or the third way

New share issue - not the one only open to present shareholders - but a share issue where someone with 30M to invest IN THE CLUB can jump on board.

Who wouldn't want that and why?

  10. Why wasn't he sacked for gross misconduct?

    To quoth the business review

The Club has entered into a number of contracts that are onerous and not delivering value on price or service. In several instances it appears that the Club did not use lawyers to protect its interests. Work is in progress to terminate or re-negotiate these as appropriate.

The absence of any effective cash and business planning processes, and budget accountability led to a culture where there was limited responsibility and ownership for financial management.

  11. he referred to the silent majority of the Rangers support – the ones who have no interest in off-field politics and whose sole interest is turning up each week to see the Rangers.

I don't agree with this - how could anyone after what has happened theses past few years have no interest in off field events?

The vast majority of the stadium also participated in the red card display at Ibrox.

The fact also that season ticket renewals have slowed to a crawl also indicates where the majority of trust lies.
