  1. We (as a society) have become far too precious about name calling and certain types of humour. Once new rules, norms and standards feed into a society, we are our own worst enemies because we look to enforce them to the nth degree when within particular rivalries, eg. Rangers and Celtic. The small picture becomes important, we lose sight of the bigger picture and as generations pass the past can be moulded into whatever. Some changes are generally an improvement, a welcome evolution of sorts. But what we have seen, at least over most of my lifetime, constitutes an assault on free speech and an effort to make sheep of as many as possible. The gist of it is that there is something far more important than Sportsound going rapidly downhill. ps. Not holding myself up as anything as I have entered into the trap myself. Just a stand back and reflect moment.
  2. We have all been there 😁
  3. Many missing because of the lack of Big Dick !!
  4. RS says with, not without. Time to do a swift edit
  5. Mibbes aye, mibbes naw...we don't really know. He certainly looked to be carrying extra which impeded mobility. One, without doubt genuine gripe Morelos could have was being played through an injury until he broke at Dundee. That was on Gio and/or medical staff. It could be argued that this set off the chain of events that is ongoing. He had come back from International duty a year ago and played the best, sharpest football of his time at Ibrox. Then the injury started hampering him.
  6. Nothing wrong with it in the same way there is nothing right about it. In the important stuff this season, he has travelled between mediocre and disgraceful. The previous manager had to go to the point of calling him out publicly. If he is good enough to give his all for the rest of the season, it would certainly help the team.
  7. That tweet is basically another piss take or a complete lack of self awareness. Play a decent game and score a couple of goals in Feburary and lets forget the preceding 6 months, it is child like. If he consistently held himself to what he mentions, he would be playing in a bigger league than Scotland and we would be over 20 Million sterling better off. What he is consistent in is self induced spells of very well paid don't give a fcuk, that contribute to our inconsistency of League results. We need a centre forward who we can rely on. The manager has talked about the summer and a new centre forward. Here is hoping he gets it right.
  8. Very good tonight, encouraging. Suffocated Hearts and didn't allow them to play. A well positioned defence did well when need be and they didn't look like scoring.
  9. I kind of agree, although on going what the manager said the other day, there is something he is not keen about with Lowry and patently doesn't think he is ready / at the level of others. Indeed he trashed the level of the Lowland League. Lowry is young and on the way up but he now appears to be going backwards (injury has played a part) Cantwell is 25 next month, reached a high level quickly and has since went backwards. Both have shown themselves to have excellent quality. Beale favours Cantwell and it is down to him to bring out his good side. Same with Raskin. The new recruits will have a lot to do if Beale is going to be successful. If Raskin brings the energy and quality we hear of, that will be a start. Lowry either works his butt off and forces the issue (now more difficult to get close to a first team he couldn't get in before) or goes the way of so many. --------------- BBC reporting that 875M was spent on transfers in the English top flight in January this year. Different sport
  10. So when will the lad from Belguim be ready to play ? Maybe get to see him against Partick.
  11. Not really, but earlier in the thread you seemed to be oblivious of said revelation. So playing the smart cnut now makes you look well, a less than smart cnut 😁
  12. Every window teams look to move on their #deadwood. Move on more of it than you receive.
  13. History tells us that fans speculating on what the precise reality was in things like fees, contract clauses, other interested clubs, what really motivates a player, etc..... is like pishing in the wind. The one thing we can be sure about is that he will our player. The positive is that it appears (never seen him) he is a very decent, young and energetic midfielder.
  14. Since Beale has come in we are winning games of football (all but one draw). Generally mediocre performances but doing enough. We have players coming back from injury, eg. Hagi at the weekend. We have already brought in Cantwell. We are second in the League after 23 games and will be second after 38. We have a League Cup Final where we can be competitive regardless of squad additions. There ia absolutely NO guarrantee that additions = win the Cup and an OF Cup Final could pass a new player by, very easily. We will beat Partick Thistle in the Cup and reach the SC quarters, factoid. The reality of our financial situation has essentially had the can kicked down the road for years. The strategy of funded constructive losses was extended, mainly down to Covid. There is always a reason for kicking the can further down the road but there comes a point when reality has to kick in. New UEFA regulations and monitoring mean that time is getting closer. The board are going to have to find a way to finance a squad rebuild this year, that takes us to a better level and becoming competitive for a title challenge. How the board do that will be interesting as we don't have obvious incoming significant transfer fees. The manager indicated that he wants Tillman, so that will be somewhere around 5M, to stay as we are.
  15. Collum made a bad mistake at Easter road that cost us and we got the benefit of the doubt on Saturday. Poor officiating
  16. The premise that if we bring in this youngster from Belgium we will win the Cup Final and vice versa is complete lala land of footballing logic.
  17. I'd imagine most people who regularly pay to watch Rangers would like to see a team that can be competitive in the League next season. Beale has often mentioned "over the next two transfer windows". Personally, I think it is about having a squad going into next season (good squads win leagues) whilst 90 minutes at Hampden is anyone's game. Football supporters tend to want cake all the time and our support in particular, have been spoilt in this regard for so long, we think it normal. We are also used to continuous loss making which is no longer viable. It wasn't viable before and that eventually caught up with us.
  18. Looks like a first teamer recruited as Beale said he wanted. Forgetting the finance for a moment....looks like a player with the required level and age.
  19. Especially when the player would stand to get a cut of monies saved. If we were in a title race (direct entry CL money) then yes, but we aren't.
  20. Tillman for tenacious industry. Just make sure you don't forget to be a baller Malik.
