  1. I think of the two you don't recognize that the one on the left might be Kenny Watson and the other (more of a guess) Martin Henderson.

Too late for Martin Henderson, bud. With Stevens and Doddie both there, the photo must be from the 79/80 season.

  2. I recognise (form right) a slimline DJ, Gordon Smith, Sandy, Coop keeking out, and Tam Forsyth at the back. Who dat on Coop's right?

In front of the mystery man is Alex MacDonald, behind him Colin Jackson & Alex Miller, to his right the GIrvan Lighthouse.

Bobby Russell looking as uncomfortable as ever without a football at his toes, is it Derek Parlane with the tight perm?

And the trio on the left of Tommy McLean, Ally Dawson and Gregor Stevens are joined by another one I don't recognise.

A young Ian Record on the right? I'm sure that the one on the left is Kenny Watson.

  3. The petition did not state that emails would be sent, and I did not instruct any emails to be sent and was wholly unaware of it.

"Every time someone signs your petition, an email is sent to the decision maker. Here are some ways to find your decision maker's contact information:......"

Taken from the Change.org website. Always read the small print! ;-)

  4. The fact that this was happening was kept from the people signing the petition and I may think twice about signing some SoS petition in the future due to the unintended consequences.

Putting the rights and wrongs to one side, it is clearly stated on their Facebook page that an email will be sent to Wallace and Easedale with every sign up.

  5. No we don't know the board's plans. I've critiscised them for this if you've read my posts. They're doing nothing more than treading water in the boardroom as far as I'm concerned but I'm not convinced King & Co are a credible alternative until someone like King becomes aserious player in all of this & starts buying a shareholding & stops using the excuse that he won't line shareholders' pockets

Why are you so keen for Dave King to further reward groups who have already helped themselves and their friends to plunder millions from club coffers?

  6. You can research everything say Phil whathisname says - I think that's ludicrous. I'm going to ignore/dismiss him no matter how ludicrous you think that is.

However, I do agree that you should research stuff before dismissing/believing anything but that doesn't mean you can't dismiss the most nefarious sources out of hand - you don't have to believe it nor disbelieve it.

I would say one of the biggest problems we had is that some of those on our side spouting out about the likes of Craig Whyte did so with cryptic innuendo instead of proper information. When asked for the information they insulted people and told them to do their own research. Hardly helpful in that cause. I see that that as a massive, massive failure of the "told you so" crowd.

Your first and second paragraphs totally contradict each other.

There was plenty of 'proper information' provided, but those who didn't want to believe it cried "Philwhatsisname shite" and put their fingers back in their ears.

  7. Absolutely.....Yet our directors did nothing ultimately. I know AJ and PM said watch him but surely all they had to say was "this guy is banned from being a director"

Purchasing the club and being a director are two different things. The IBC, which were pretty much toothless, rang the alarm bells, but next to nobody took any heed. Murray and his team also lied incessantly to push through the sale.

  8. When someone lies about you negatively all the time, should your friends listen to them or just dismiss it?

Of course you should dismiss everything from a lying, hateful messenger. It doesn't mean the message is untrue but it is far too unreliable to give it any credence so it becomes irrelevant noise - otherwise you have to listen to and consider the implications of every lie, every time.

I agree that if there are other, less unreliable sources which give the same message you shouldn't dismiss the message just because your enemy is saying the same thing, but that's another matter.

No matter who the messenger is, dismissing/believing any information without first doing one's own research is just ludicrous.

  9. Which is exactly the point I am making - to err is only human.

I think all sides could learn from showing a bit of humility' date=' especially when things are called wrong.

Im still awaiting an apology from...well everyone...for the abuse I got for calling out Green ;-))[/quote']

    Not everyone. ;-)

  10. Im sure whendbear referenced a thread on FF' date=' which would probably be right up your street.

I dont do name calling or emotive language - I find it an obstacle rather than a conduit to effective communication.[/quote']

I know you don't, which makes the bracketing in your previous post all the stranger.

Everyone calls things wrong, but when it happens repeatedly, coupled without any admission of culpability or show of humility, then observers are naturally going to question their judgment on these matters.
