  1. The cull was as severe as the Club could afford. As far as we know, every single first team player who was out of contract was released.

They need time and they need our patience mate. The new board hasn't even been in place for 4 months which is less time than Wallace and Nash needed to go through the business and come up with little more than a somewhat wooly business review.

Wallace and Nash hadn't been planning for the amount of years that King has had. The youth and scouting set-up should have been planned and implementation should have begun on day one. They would have had a better insight into what was going than anyone else, yet the dogs on the street knew what was a priority.

I agree that some things will take time to complete and that patience is needed, but other than a couple of emergency loans, all we have heard are vague assurances that money will be invested.

  2. Personally I would like to meet everyone who comes on here. I don't think you are a bad person and certainly have no doubts about your best will for the club but I just feel you are always so negative and surely not everything is wrong at our club. We even have a lovely purple football shirt that looks gay and merry.:) I am the last person that wants to shut people up who have a different opinion. I just can't understand people who only want to see the negative side of things. Every negative has a positive and that is what we should be looking to promote. I do however agree we must not take our eye off the ball and just see the positive side of things but a happy medium is the best way to look at things. Personally what I have seen from the RST over the last year has been positive. I don't follow them so I can't judge them fully. They certainly have made some fantastic statements of late.

I have absolutely no defence to any charge of being negative and pessimistic about the continuing saga. I'm pissed off and have been for years now. When things eventually change for the good, so shall my mood.

  3. Thankfully that's beginning to change and within a reasonably short period of time as well. With the new ownership structure, new board, new management team, new players starting to come in and a lot of dead wood we've been crying out to have shipped out having now been shipped out, there's a lot more to be positive about.

The appointment of the new manager is a positive move, most definitely. The cull should have been far more severe as there are still players there who are nowhere near good enough. Other than that, the new board have done very little else since they arrived. Being 'not the old board' only has a limited shelf life, I'm afraid.

  4. You call the supporters groups attacking the lies constantly peddle in the media, as nonsense. But you want to attack the agenda by the fans groups, how can you ignore one but not the other?

Quite easily. Those fan groups have helped to cause more damage to the club than the media could ever dream of accomplishing.

  5. In fairness to you Rangersitis - you do seem to treat everyone connected with Rangers with equal disdain :bouncy2:

That's certainly not true. I know plenty of folk with a Rangers connection who are good people, even ones who I disagree with on certain matters.

My gripe is with the groups who use Rangers and it's support as a means to further their own ambitions, plus the influential individuals who will use their standing to attack others for not adhering to those agendas. You are one of those individuals, McMurdo is another.

  6. I have totally no link to the RST but your statement is totally unfair. Hindsight is a fantastic thing and we were virtually all behind Ally at that time. You will probably say you weren't but in answer to that there is little you find positive about rangers. You are the perfect example of what is being discussed in DÁrts thread. A whisperer in the dark. Maybe if you try to do something within you will get more respect and possibly a new vision on things. I doubt if you want that though, it is easier to be an anonymous rebel behind a keyboard.

There isn't a lot to be positive about where Rangers are concerned and that has been the case for a number of years now. Should I just shut up and let lies become truths and allow history to be revised in order to save the blushes of others?

If you wish to turn a blind eye to the agenda-driven behaviour of the RST, VB or SoS, batter on, but it comes across as very strange that a mod on a discussion forum would decry anyone for daring to state their position.

As for me being anonymous, I have met people who use this board and if you would like me to provide you with my name, address and Rangers history just say so.

  7. watch him when he was at hearts and raith a few times for there first teams .Used to watch quite a bit of the youth football, not so much anymore after everything that happened to us. He played against us a couple of times from memory( remember he scored a screamer against us).

How many times have you watched him and Allan?

is there a set amount before you are allowed an opinion?

You can have an opinion whenever you like. I was just intrigued as you said that Winks would be a great signing. You must spend some amount of time and money if you are watching Rangers, Hearts, Raith and the Spurs youth teams. Fair play to you. :tu:

  8. I have some sympathy with that view , like i have said in my previous post a lot of agenda and Jockeying for postilion did go on. No one comes away without criticism, also those same organisation, Union Of Fans, SOS, RF, RST did some good things as well. I'm a member of the RST. I only joined them two season ago because despite their allegiances to various board's they did generally fight the fans corner especially against our many enemies in the mhedia and across the city.

Which allowed the real enemies within Ibrox to do their worst. Far too much emphasis goes towards external nonsense.

  9. why would i need to see him play more than allan? doesn't make any sense. I have seen foster play more than allan doesnt make foster a better player.

His ability to finish and take half chances is probably his best attribute. Great shot on him. Will add some goals to midfield. Were Allan couldn't hit a barn door from 20 yards.

ball retention is better than allan though he does stick to shorter passing. Movement is good although can hide . Main worry would be he would get booted up and down the field.

For me he will play at a better level than Allan will achieve in his career.

If i was to sum it up i would say the future for Holt is a mid level English championship player while Allan is league 1-2

On how many occasions have you seen him play?

  10. With Rangers First and the RST i think we have the two vehicles who can to demand transparency. We the support are getting stronger with every share bought, I'm not a militant, but at the same time i won't be pushed around. the supporters have served their time, we were loyal when others f@cked off, we fought the good fight and continue to do so.

In King Murray Park and the 3Bears, there's a realisation without the the body of the support, nothing can be achieved, we just need the brethren within those group with a big set of Cojones to demand our just rewards.

Getting the various factions within the support to call a truce, is going to take longer.

The RST are aligned with the current board and were most vocal about the previous lot, that is except for McCoist. His exorbitant wage wasn't questioned in the same way as the likes of Green, Ahmad et al. His bung from Green of 1m shares was never used against him the way it was with others. Why? Because he was on the same side as them and it didn't suit the agenda that was being pushed. They are not the only group who have been happy to indulge in propaganda in the belief that their own missions would be achieved in the process.

The support have never been as one, never, but the various self-interest groups that have been set up over the years have smashed any fissures into deep ravines. Sadly, the clock cannot be turned back.

  11. Why would a Sarver,or anyone for that matter, give £30m to a small club like Levante? Is there any truth in this?

A small club which plays in a league dominated by three or four big clubs it will never displace and whose main aim every season is to avoid relegation.

Call me a cynic but are our mhedia up to their tricks again? Are they trying to portray Rangers in a bad way because Sarver was linked to us earlier this year and look - we've just missed out on £30m ....

Sarver had no real intention to put his money into Rangers. He knew that his plans would be knocked back and never took the steps required to force the issue. Your opinion of Levante is comical. They play in the second biggest league in world football, but a wiser investment for Sarver's money would be to put it into a club currently in the second division of a footballing backwater. :D

  12. Puma doing their best to ensure that shirt sales are kept to a minimum.

    /QUOTE]

WTF is that? (I had to take the link out as that picture hurts my eyes!) Please tell me that is a mock up and not an official club shirt (gk?). While I am on record as saying anything for the keeper will be better than wearing that green monstrosity Bell wore towards the end of last season, that picture above is absolutely horrendous.

That's apparently the third strip, not the 'keeper's top!

  13. It's just I see him hitting over 40 appearances a season lots recently.

Missed 7 months with a knee injury when at Coventry.

Missed a whole season plus 4 months with a knee injury while at Stoke.

Missed almost all of his last season at Watford with a back injury.

Two knee operations at Derby last season.
