  1. Clearly more to come but some positive signs there. Huge test on Tuesday!
  2. I think your assessment is harsh but fair enough, you're entitled to your opinion.
  3. I fluctuated from agreeing to disagreeing and back in just 7 short sentences. Slow build up is our enemy in some respects, but its more about movement in front of play to create spaces that can be exploited, or drawing the opposition into areas they are weaker. Its not so much Goldson dithering, but him having a lack of runners, or players moving into spaces. I thought also that essentially USG did to us, what Gerrard had us doing in Europe particuarly. Compact defensive and midfield lines to frustrate our build up, cutting off passing lanes, pouncing on slack passes with really quick transitions.
  4. Whilst not infallible, I'm struggling with the idea that Goldson is not a fine leader of our central defence.
  5. A bad night at the office. We need to hope a home crowd spooks them and ideally get an early goal next week.
  6. We knew it was likely to be a tough game if we make it to the play off.
  7. Yeah I'm cynical about it too. Surely the issues are obvious? Its not like they haven't been told!
  8. Agreed. For me it starts with refereeing standards. If they were much tougher on the physicality in the game and refereed more to a european standard, we would see more of our technical prospects start to flourish. We get frustrated when promising youngsters don't translate their youth pedigree into first team success, and I think this is one of the main barriers.
  9. I'm just surprised he has been allowed to use the term "Old Firm". I can only imagine the frothing in some quarters of social media.
  10. The SLO was over at some European SLO event at Frankfurt last week... seems he's come back full of new ideas and energy. Which is good on one hand, but as others have said, the cynic in me wonders why its taken an event like that to put such mechanisms in place?
  11. We can be justifiably critical of Castore on certain matters (e.g. the breadth of stock beyond sportswear), but we've just launched our 3rd strip in 3-4 months and there are clubs down south, including a couple in the EPL, who still can't get any of there's out. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-62256634
  12. The nationalists complain and say the Beeb has a unionist bias too. Which seems a little like the argument about refereeing decisions to me. You’ll hear folk argue that if both sides are complaining about a ref’s decision then they’re being fair, whereas I see it that the referee is just shite. If the referee gets a call right, most fair minded folk will begrudgingly accept the decision.
  13. I don’t mind it on the 3rd strip, and it doesn’t seem too bad on the away, but it’s awful on the home for me.
  14. If we bring in the Turk and the suggestion that Borna is open to a move, we'll need another LB surely? Or is Devine ready to be a dependable backup?
  15. I don't know him personally, but I know he stood up and spoke out when we needed voices like his, at a personal cost. He deserves respect for that. But... C1872 have been an utter shambles for a while now, not least with their failure to properly address the concerns raised from the EGM last year. On the surface, this feels like a populist move to try and increase their profile among the rank and file rather than properly address the clear governance issues that are at the heart of the issues raised by the EGM requisitioners, which in my view were perfectly reasonable. A well governed organisation would have been able to handle those issues with ease and well before they got to the stage they did.
  16. I've no axe to grind with Craig but my initial reaction is that this is potentially a strange move. Craig himself has been openly critical of aspects of club management, as I and I'm sure many others have been, but it doesn't seem like the kind of appointment that is going to reset the relationship between the club and C1872. Happy to be corrected of course.
  17. The main thing is whether he's good enough. I think if he's going to get first team football at StBoo, he is probably going to develop quicker than within our U-18/B teams so it sounds like he's either getting really good advice about his long term career or he has indeed said "No Thanks, ya bunch of wanks"; or of course, both!
