As much as I would have liked to see how he fairs under Le Guen's tutelage I dont think there will be many who are sorry to see him go. Never lived up to his supposed reputation and any time i've seen him playing for Tunisia he's flattered to deceive. Got a feeling he might flourish elsewhere i.e abroad where he will be allowed more time on the ball.

I can see Boyd starting - makes sense since he's our best finisher although Sebo's in a good bit of form judginh by his hat-trick midweek so I'd be in favour of starting them both...

A calculated choice from PLG. Bardsley's young and has potential - much in the same way Hutton is. Should provide good competition and allow us to gauge Hutton's progress whilst at the same time ensuring that he doesn't stifle Hutton by bringing in a big money signing. Hopefully it will give Hutton a kick up the arse .

Lets not forget that PLG has basically only been working with the squad for around 2 months - as said previously, Rome wasn't built in a day. We were always going to take a while to settle given all the changes to the playing and coaching staff. I feel it comes down to PLG learning the Scottish game - yes, he'll get us playing fast flowing attacking football but sometimes he'll have to adopt one of Big Eck's mantras and 'win ugly'. And the only way that can happen is by playing games. Lets wait until the first 9 games have been played until we properly assess the beginnings of PLG's reign.

I wouldnt read much into the result. Didn't see the game but it's basically a high profile pre-season friendly.

It's obvious that Mclaren is making a statement of intent and distancing himself from Sven's era. Dropping Beckham, the biggest underperformer in the team, shows that he's not overawed by big names. Seems to me he's putting the building blocks in place for the next Euro's and WC - exciting times for Colshy et al.
