  1. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_utd/5120332.stm

He's now come out and said he wants to leave given the circumstances.

No matted everyone's opinion of him, if he went back to Man U and got back to the basice of football, cut out the diving and play acting and started turning it on for Man U then he would gain a hell of a lot of cudos in the football world.

But no, Ronaldo says "I'm too much of a wankshite that I cant face the responsibilites of my own actions that I'm gonna clear off before the going gets rough"

I think if he stayed and overcame this adversity it would be the making of him as a player. If he goes then he'll lose what little credibility he has left.

    Rant over.

  2. Fairnuff that Ronaldo isn't the only one guilty but the boy is clearly stupid. He knows that everyone is watching him and waiting for him to fall to the ground like a tonne of bricks when someone looks at him, and yet he continues to do it. Also he looks like a rent boy and he plays for Man U - nuffsaid.

  3. Svennson and Sol at the back would be dynamite. Would love it if we signed him but would be a bit worried about his mental state giving all the problems he's been having in the last year. Having said all that - Gazza had his fair share of problems and he was a legend!

  4. I've had Setanta for the best part of 2 years now and haven't been dissapointed (apart from the pish served up by Mcleish last year).

If you consider how much money you would spend going to the pub to watch games it's a bargain - especially since you'll average around 2 games a month. Added to that, the general qualty of the SPL has increased last year with the emergence of the Edinburgh teams. Also factor into the mix the extra European football and other SPL games you can watch as well as the fact that they show extended highlights of all the SPL games and the fact you get Rangers TV for nowt.

Having said all that, Scotsport being what it was for the past 2 years added to my justification for subscribing and by all accounts they're bowing to public opinion and getting rid of Sarah O and the Orkney boy. Also they're going to have a 2 hour programme each week so hopefully they'll show decent hightlights and put it on a decent time instead of 11pm on a school night!

So, Rooney and Maxi Rodriguez both get £2400 fines and 2 match bans. Given that their punishment was equal, can we assume then that their offences were equal? I'm not defending Rooney here but there was at least some doubt as to whether he did stamp deliberately or whether it was an accident. There can be no doubt that Rodriguez deserves what he got as he was throwing around punches.

I cant get my head round this, FIFA just move from one blunder to the next.

  7. You're forgetting about Joe Cole's goal against Sweden.

Personally I'd go for Cambiasso's goal against the sexual perverts S&M! :D

As I said earlier, there were some excellent goals from a number of players and Joe Cole's goal was good but not in the same league as the 2 Argy goals.

  8. What does everyone think?

I cant decide between 2 Argentina goals.

Firstly Cambiasso's goal vs Serbia and Montenegro. Brilliant possesion, one touch, give and go football with about 40 consecutive passes. Eventually they exploited some space, moved the ball into the box and an excellent finish into the top corner by Cambiasso arriving late. A goal for the purists.

Secondly there's Maxi Rodriguez's volley vs Mexico. Given the context of the match i.e 2nd half of extra time heading for penalties, and the sheer audacity and quality of his chest and volley from the corner of the box was simply outstanding. Often players get too caught up with making sure they dont make a mistake that they forget to that a goal in extra time might win the game without the lottery of penalties.

There were lots of other good finishes and some spectacular strikes from outside the box but those two, for me, stood out...

  9. At the end of the day, Italian football needs Juve, AC Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio in their top flight. They have TV contracts and sponsorships which would be affected should they all be relegated. I agree with Gribs that there's more likely to be an injustice coming at the end of this but given all the factors I just cant see 4 clubs being relegated

  10. I think the queston on Owen will be if he can re-capture his Liverpool/ England form of a few years ago. He seems to have been injured for about 2 years solid and for a guy who relies a lot on pace to punish defenders, will he be as quick as before? I doubt it.

  11. I hope the Germans embarrass Portugal. I've gone right off their diving cheating antics - which ironically for me started in the '03 Uefa Cup Final vs Celtic. It was good to see Celtic getting beaten, but it's just not funny any more.
