  1. this is why the club must be owned by the fans

we have been raped by capitalism at its worse

Dave King has supported RST and RF. He offers us a way to own our club

He knows in the long run, it's the only way forward

As long as the fan ownership model is open and transparent and does not descend into factional in-fighting.

A strong club constitution would be needed along with an independent professonally appointed board accountable to supporters or supporter board/scrutiny. I am far from convinced that actual fans, under this model,on a professional board would be a good idea ....blazer chasing could cause a lot of problems. However, should a fan be independently professionally appointed that would be acceptable.

  2. It has the makings of an Ashleyian Tragedy.....you can feel fatboys sobs from here as a conference call relays his boys being booted from the premises....

What's the latest on Sandy Easdale ??? Everything has gone quiet and this term landslide victory has me slightly concerned ,...has a deal been done ???

  3. Somers quit after promising King he'd stay til the EGM, now NOMAD has done the same. They are surly damaging their own reputations pulling stunts like this.

Also, doesnt Paul Murray have to go through the fit and proper process since he was part of CW's board, or does that not come into it now?

I read somewhere that because Paul Murray raised concerns re Whyte to the SFA it is not an issue.

  4. I think it is wisest to state ones viewpoint to the crackpots amongst our support and move on. It is my view whether it is the boardroom, football or add-ons it appears to be the same people who cannot accept reasoned argument.... indeed they become more entrenched the more cogent your argument is...far too much positive stuff to look forward to now than waste ones energies with the crackpots....

Sadly, we are divided and probably will remain so but hey-ho let us hope we can agree to disagree, and realise that we have too many enemies to be caught up with divisive in-fighting.

  5. Whilst I also think Llambias and Leach are playing games and doing their masters bidding I'm less concerned about it now. If it was me and I found £10 mil in the bank come Friday evening I'd use it to rebuild the club. It's a very low cost loan as long as we meet the repayment terms, and I doubt anyone else is going to lend us money as things stand even with new directors in place.

If that means keeping Llambias and Leach on the board so be it, they'll be out voted if they oppose anything.

The future success of the next group of directors will be predicated on their ability to generate income for the club, how difficult that'll be we'll find out in the coming months. If having Llambias and Leach on board proves problematic then pay Ashley what he's owed and get rid of them. But I'd call their bluff on this one just now.

The success of the next board of directors will be more dependent in order

    1) Excellent Manager

    2) Disentangling Ashley and his contracts from Rangers

    3) Rebuilding the trust of the supporters.

Scottish football is and will not be awash with money even a huge club such as ourselves cannot match the resources of the lowest club in EPL given the latest tv deal.

Our club success will have to be built on youth, excellent scouting across Europe of young or Bosman talent. Any serious money generated will be dependent on European involvement...the most important thing is finding a talented, committed manager that is here for the long-term.....

  6. It is a damning indictment of our modern allegedly regulated market that people can behave in such a selfish unscrupulous manner. More so when it comes to a massive football institution such as ourselves that has lurched from crisis to crisi over the last 4 years all at the hands of so-called captains of Industry ...(one honoured with a knighthood)...

And yet despite this leadership, vast salaries business experience, and AIM listing were we to approach banks for funding we would be refused. Corporate Goverance / AIM listing / Institutional Investors .....dont make me laugh

  7. Ashley operates in strange ways, often taking stakes in competitors and looking for long-term rewards....I imagine sending in trusted lieutenants such as Llambias and Leach only to see them ultimately defeated will have dented the ego some what....

Any capital loss will be second to the loss of face....given he allegedly lost 300m in the RBS fiasco it is the ego that will be hurting at SD Headquarters.....

  8. Buba3d,

Strange statement again given your belief the other evening advocating "add-ons" even if it meant fans facing jail or a ban in Europe.

Glad to see you have the best interests of the club at heart.

I think if there is a taped telephone call, I would take this lastest move as an MA pram and toy behavioural last roll of the dice...hoping to extract some form of pay-off in the form of the Leech and Larry the Llamb...

Indeed, in terms of drawdown etc I would imagine given previous statements the new board will rid itself immediately of the Ashley loan.....I think between them and others eg McColl etc they would be able to raise interim capital.

Nonetheless, this board are utter scum and I hope come Friday a security firm is hired to fling that "fanny" Sandy Easdale and his corrupt, stinking pssessions out of the club.

    Good riddance you scoundrels.

  9. Look at the league table and it is a disgrace ....the vast majority of the players deserve to be booted out along with the board...

To consider bringing back McCoist ....???? Ultimately McCoist has had plenty of money to spend on the playets and despite the boardroom problems, his tenure as a manager has been terrible in terms of playing style, achievements and discipline.

Realistically, we will be doing well to be promoted this season. Hopefully, we will have an interim manager within 10 days if we are to salvage anything from this season.

  10. I feel a sense of great relief, At last there's a way forward

Likewise....relief as the club had almost been stolen .... could not handle the Easdales being involved....and MA business was the final straw.

Long way to go yet but at least over 50% of the club is basically in the hands of or backing Rangers men.
