  1. Limeburner, it's like you're preparing us for a "told you so". It's too easy to take that position, and to refer to nothing substantial, other than the fact he is Mexican. I've read the posts you referenced and they only point to your problem with signing players form this particular country. Either acknowledge that it was poor language, or explain why. I'd really appreciate hearing an alternative view about these players, because at the moment I'm quite excited about it. Shouldn't I be?

I've watched a lot of Mexican football and know a bit about these players so I'm surprised at your negativity. If Pena plays anywhere near his standard he will be player of the year in Scotland. The others we are being linked with are also exciting players, and my only problem is that I can't believe we stand a chance of signing them.

Look mate---its only my OPINION,it dosent mean its gonna happen.FFs calm down.

What i wont tolerate is folk saying i put my opinions before the success of the club----i wont have that.

  2. that's fine if you want to leave it wont ask again but the answer in #54 in no way answers. Its about pena specifically and not about what was said in anyway. Most portugese for example speak English quiet well.

If we only sign Scottish players then we need to sack the manager because very few understand the way we are going to play. Portuguese players do as they are taught it from youth football, not sure if the same happens in Mexico. Since Scottish teams get beat pretty much consistently in Europe by teams who play the european way then i would have thought it would be a good idea to replicate European methods rather than Scottish. The Mexicans as a race have quiet similar mentalities to the Scottish(take no shit, never lay down and are very family orientated) I would say they will fit in here quiet well. Ultimately time will tell.

You said it ,time will tell(and it wont take very long, believe me)

  3. I did ask quite clearly if you look back at the post. What is your thinking behind such a weird statement? Why would we not want any players from these countries at all?

See John Mc post No 54.Thats how ok.Lets leave it at that .

  4. so its fine to say Rangers should sign no mexicans or portugese players? Why shouldnt such a comment deserve to be questioned?

Feel free to question-----no smears please

Feel free to question---no lies or smears please(that wasnt aimed at you)

  5. And yet we haven't as yet signed a single Mexican or Portuguese. And we haven't had a single game as yet with any of them in the team. And you say you were torn apart about saying so - so, just because the boy likes a drink he will be a failure - is that what you are saying ?

Gazza liked a drink, even on match days, he didn't turn out too badly.

As previously said, seems you would prefer an opportunity to be proven right in failure rather than wrong in success.

It is laughable to complain about being torn apart when none of it has even had the chance to come to fruition. Deary me indeed.

Signing mexicans(drink problems or not)isnt the way ahead as far as im concerned.Other people (like you)are more than welcome to their own opinions.

Youre second last sentence offends me.Stick me on youre ignore list please.

  6. The best sides of the 21st Century do not 'drink like fish'. Even the 'only fairly decent' sides don't.

Let us hope the boy can be properly managed, and will, as a result, concentrate on football.

If he has problems of a bibulous nature, Glasgow -indeed Scotland- may not be the best place to land to resurrect a career.

He does seem to be a talented lad, so I think that we should keep fingers crossed.

For the avoidance of doubt: I do not want him to fail.

I dont either-----i dont like where this is going,am i going to be accused of being something im not?

  7. Arguably the best Rangers sides of all time drank like fish?????

It's really like you guys are desperate for us to fail and want to be able to go "told you so" more than you want success or worse.

The guy hasn't even landed in the country yet and you are talking like you are 100% correct that he will fail and it's a bad signing????

Must be amazing to be able to correctly decipher a players ability without needing to see a single bit of evidence of his ability to play the game??

Fair enough ,hes a genius-----is that better?

  8. So, apparently, the boy likes a drink.

Apart from this, he is the dug's bollocks, yer maw's steak pie, and Waterloo Sunset by The Kinks, all rolled into one.

Bring it on. It will all end in tears, mind.

You bet it will, seems funny now------it wont be in September.

  9. The dates are correct but we are seeded in Q1 so the first round opponents are wrong.

We are looking at the likes of Shamrock Rovers, Cork City, Derry City, Coleraine, Ballymena, Connah's Quay, Bangor City, the famous Lincoln Red Imps from Gib, and teams from Serbia, Albania, Armenia, Georgia, Latvia, Finland, Moldova, Hungary, Lithuania, Iceland the Faroe Islands, Malta. We may avoid the worst of the travelling because Q1 is regionalised but that might still include Georgia, for example.

If we get through we will not be seeded in Q2, where potential opponents include:

    Maccabi Tel-Aviv (*) Isr 23.375 .

    Hajduk Split Cro 11.550 .

    Dinamo Minsk * Bls 10.975 .

    Apollon Limassol (*) Cyp 10.710 .

    HJK Helsinki * Fin 10.530 .

    AIK Stockholm * Swe 9.945 .

    Vojvodina Novi Sad * Srb 9.075 .

    Brøndby IF Den 8.800 .

    AEL Limassol * Cyp 8.210 .

    EL3 Tur 7.840 - 58.840 .

    Gabala FK Azb 7.800 .

    Slovan Bratislava * Svk 7.350 .

    Red Star Belgrade * Srb 7.325 .

    Skënderbeu Korçë * Alb 6.800

If we get through that, potential opponents in Q3 include:

Zenit St. Petersburg Rus 87.106 .

    Sparta Praha Cze 48.135 .

    AC Milan Ita >47.666 .

    PSV Eindhoven Ned >46.212 .

    Sporting Braga Por 37.366 .

    AA Gent Bel 35.480 .

    FK Krasnodar Rus 32.106 .

    Everton Eng >29.135 .

    Olympique Marseille Fra 28.333 .

    Dinamo Zagreb Cro 26.050 .

    Maritimo Funchal Por 14.866

I'd rather not look beyond that at this point.

Im in gainful employment, so would be in a position to bribe most of the teams in q1.After that---were in trouble.

  10. All understood except the last line. If Kranjcar and Rossiter are fit then thats a step up. Kranjcar is top class on his day.

They wont be----they are both sponsored by elastoplast.Seriously, you cant trust any of the pair. They are simply unreliable.
