  1. No suggestions???

    Aye,spent a wee bit cash on a centre half, a midfielder and a stiker----say 5 million.

Its time the fans were rewarded with 2-3 signings that will get the juicies flowing again.

We are stale, give the fans something to get behind----they dont need that much encouragment, but they need some.

The board need to step up NOW.

If its the old Kranjear and Rossitor are like two new signings then were fucked.Hows that?

  2. I think Rousseau posted a good article about how the tough tackling centre midfielder has gone - yet the Scottish game could be different, the standard is still rough and tumble most of the time. Whilst I dont see Kranjcar as the midfield general I do see him more as a playmaker going forward and having a Stuart McCall in the side would get the best out of him.

Looks like the Stuart mc Call type is going to be Rossiter(going by the article).

Are these two the types to build a midfield from---------i dont think so.Riddled with injury problems.

  3. "Harking back" is not about being negative or positive - it's about being pragmatic and realistic in our expectations.

Equally, my plea for some balance in our assessment is not an attempt to block others' opinions. It's merely an attempt to have a rationale and reasoned debate on here. There are many on the forum who can see the negative in everything, and the positive in very little. That's sad, depressing, and unreasonable.

What some of our supporters fail to realise is that the younger generation of Rangers fans is being put off by the negativity around our club. They hear and see all of the negative stories and are being affected, resulting in apathy towards Rangers, and therefore Scottish football in general. These kids are looking to the EPL and other foreign teams instead. The press is to blame to some degree, but when you hear the way many of our own supporters talk about the club, I think they have to shoulder a lot of the blame too. Kids like something to look forward to. Can't we just give that to them? If we don't, they'll continue to lose interest, and then what?

What I'm trying to do is give my kids, and others, some balanced enthusiasm for our team. Equally, I'm trying to manage expectations to ensure that we have something to look forward to. We have enough detractors without our own support jumping on the negativity bandwagon.

A very reasonable and measured reply Gaffer. There is only one problem-----there is virtualy nothing(at this moment in time)to be positive about.

You cant counjure up enthusiasm or positivity out of thin air----its got to come from performances or your living on faith.

You can dress it up any way you want ,but the fact is we are hopeless. The board need to give us something to believe in---now.

That goes for the manager as well.Soul destroying results, well, they destroy the soul.

  4. I think that everyone wants progress; that, however defined, will not happen with the current squad, which has, frankly, too many second raters.

It is my considered opinion that even the combined talents of Guardiola, Mourinho, Ferguson, Wenger, Klopp, Pochettino, Conte, Gandalf the Grey, Harry Potter, Merlin, and Aleister fuckin' Crowley could not produce the alchemy required to turn the current base metal of the playing staff into even low carat Gerald Ratner gold.

Hence, Stage 1: bring in some decent players, particularly for key positions. It is that bleedin' obvious.

    Eh,yes it is (again)

  5. Perhaps not much to "talk up", but sure not all there is needs to "put down" either. Whether here or on FF, you see a lack of objectivity when it comes to evaluate our squad, players and the league and situation we are in. Which is doubly disappointing since we all know where we were just a few years, some may say months back.

Surely harking back to where we were is hardly being positive?

We would do well to let the past be-----it may let us move on a bit.

  6. Maybe it's the fact lots of our fans only want to criticise and don't react with equivalent praise when something positive happens, very weird for supporters to only fixate on negatives. It's at the stage where they seem to be only energised by negatives. The simplest discussion always reverts to a negative. Would be nice to see the same passion put into talking us up.

That's not aimed at cdynamo1 think he's just had bad timing here tbh and his opinion has reasoning to explain it so all good there

Give me something to talk up and ill do it.Idont see nothing recently.

  7. I don't think that is fair. I'm stating my opinion, I'm not convinced by him and I am prepared to be stood corrected if he's a success.

Dont think Gaffer likes others opinions(unless they agree with him ofcourse)

  8. big dreams, you would think the last thing we would do is mirror the behaviour of those we allegedly detest.

As you say you stick with your love/hate relationship i will aim for far more then being just better than them. Would hate to be so pessimistic that i cant see by what has went before and see nothing but limits.

Probably the same supporters who said we could never achieve anything in europe ,then 2008 happened, but it still didn't ignite passion for the club to succeed beyond getting one over on that lot, probably all Europe was was a stick to beat them with instead of an achievable goal.

We have a manager who has lost 5 of the 6 available first team defenders but who has still drastically improved our defence but hes still shit cause we got beat in the old firm. He has taken a forward line who couldn't score 20 goals between them over 3/4 of a season and now has that same forward line scoring pretty much every game, but hes shit cause he failed to beat celtic. He has stripped the players from the squad who's attitudes where detrimental whilst improving us on-field but hes still shit cause we got beat by celtic. He has utilised youth players without fear and has helped them to perform to a standard at worst the same as the seasoned professionals we have but hes still shit cause we got beat by them. By all accounts it looks like his first signing will take us from keirnan to Burno Alves a guy we most likely couldn't attract without the managers presence but hes still shit cause he got beat by them.

F**k me some are really obsessed and cant see by celtic.

If we cant be the best team in Glasgow, how the feck can we take the club forward in Europe etc.

What, just ignore the results against them and talk about the Euoropa league?

  9. no its not. Its became very clear that sections of the support don't want to do the hard stuff to get to the good they just want us to beat celtic and that s it. Just being better than them is what they want, champions over shite. Others like me couldn't care less about them we want the club to be the very best it can be, that will take time and sacrifice. Celtic are an irrelevance.

If we had won that old firm game or played well and drew with nothing else having had changed than it is right now, those same fans crying about how bad everything is would go 180 and say all is great. All they care about whether they realise it or not is beating them, its all they can see blinding them from the positives and the fact that we are making progress.

Well, you carry on with your vision for the club,I will settle for beating them and ultimatly winning the league title.

Champions over shite ?Its all we and them have been for nigh on 30 years.

  10. I would suggest that there is a difference inasmuch as I was complaining about innuendo from a small number of people etc about my past utterances and opinions; in the case of Mr King we are talking about the opinion of learned judges not the opinion of Gersnet posters however learned they may be.

My opinions or evidence have never been criticised by judges; on the contrary when I was in court some years ago as a witness when my car was totalled by a careless driver, the Sheriff described my evidence as "credible and reliable".

Also the opinion of Richard Millett QC, sitting as a Deputy Judge of the High Court, that King's evidence in the RRL case was "cynical and disingenuous" is very recent and adds to the pattern that has already been observed.

Lastly, I am not the Chairman of Rangers FC and I did not say:

“My view of what it will take to make Rangers competitive again is bottom end £30m but probably £50m — over the next four years.

From the discussions I have to date I think there are other people who would come with me.

But I would say I would probably have to put in £30m of the £50m over the period of time. And I could probably get other people to put in £20m.

Would I be willing to invest £30m despite what happened previously? Of course. Sure.”.

    http://club1872.co.uk/news/stewart-robertson-meeting-summary/

So I would submit that it is perfectly fair and reasonable to hold our Chairman to account based on the standards applied when he has been in court.

"He draweth out the thread of his verbosity finer than the staple of his argument".

  11. That's it, sold, to the bald man from Nottingham Forrest.

Honestly with any luck he will convince this new owner at Forrest that he has a clue what he is doing and take a few of them down south. At the end of the day its his daughters company that are going to get a slice of any prospective transfer fee so an incentive to bump the fee up a bit.

I dont think this will happen-----hes been "outed",as far as this carry on goes.

  12. That might be what you see clearly Pete. What I see clearly is a man who has the passion and desire that we've not had for some time. He hasn't proven anything yet, but deserves the time to do so. What he has done though is blooded some youngsters, and started the process of clearing out those that are not up to standard. What else can he do? I'm honestly embarrassed by our support sometimes. We've got so many "experts" in football opining on someone who has only been in charge a short time. I'd like to think we are better than that. With "supporters" like ours, the guy doesn't need enemies.

Hes only stating his honest opinion, nothing more nothing less.(just like you have done).
