Bournemouth are reportedly in talks with Marcelo Bielsa. Surely we are a more exciting proposition than them?!

He seems to be dismissed by a lot of our fans, but I've always liked Wright - as a squad player. He's quick, direct, likes a dribble and a shot at goal. He just lacks a bit of quality in his final product. I also feel like he's not quite integrated into the team as would be beneficial to us and him; it's as if he plays as an individual rather than linking-up with teammates. (Of course, I blame GvB for that! ) -

Rangers announce friendly with Bayer Leverkusen during winter break

I suppose it gives us a higher chance of making money off a resale? (As long as they're not here too long.)
-
The PL average wage-to-revenue ratio is 71%. We're under that.
-
I would assume that the majority of those (playing staff) wages would be McGregor, Davis, Arfield, and the two crocks? We can get rid of them this summer.

A squad filler is still a good signing. I think Aribo was just before - like 3 months before. Not sure he counts.

Oh-no... -
Is that what I said? Ok - maybe not "cheap", but I don't think we're over-paying.

It's not horrendous. Good: Hagi, Bassey, McLaughlin, Defoe, Balogun, Itten, Sakala, Wright, Lundstram, Sands, Tillman, Matondo, Colak, Yilmaz, Lawrence. Bad: Kamberi, Simpson, Diallo, Zungu, Ramsey, Zukowski (homesickness, but a good young player, with potential so I wouldn't say it was a bad move). Roofe and Helander are good players, but with their injuries they're not great signings. We can't get players of their quality. I wouldn't say they were bad, though. Itten didn't work out, but I think he's a good player with potential. He's scoring for fun for the champions of Switzerland just now. I don't think we used him properly. (Bacuna - I'm still convinced this was done for a quick flip, which did make us money.) Like I've said, it's not egregiously bad.
-
Sands, Tillman, Matondo, Yilmaz, etc.
-
Injuries are a problem, but the fact they can't get into the team is GvB's fault, IMO; I think they're good enough to play more.
-
I would say also, I feel like this last window is better with regards to squad building: Young, cheap players with potential. Whereas previously, it was more stop-gap; as if it was a 'just win the title, at all costs'-type approach, which is not sustainable.
-
I agree that there have definitely been issues. Appointing GvB is the worst, for me, but that's only with hindsight; I wasn't quite convinced at the time, but most were quite happy with that appointment. I don't think Wilson's performance has been egregiously bad to warrant a change, there. As I've always said, I think the squad is generally fine - barring a few glarring gaps - and that a better manager gets more of the team.
-
I don't think so - or, not quite. I've always thought the signings have been fine; not great, but fine. Yes, that's what I meant: He's failed with the appointment of GvB. That's what I'm most critical of.
-
It's still too early to judge Ross Wilson. A DoF has to be judged on a longer term than a window or two. It's not been egregiously bad. The signings have not quite worked, but for me, that's because of GvB's inability to use them properly. It's the appointment of GvB itself that is most disappointing, and that's 100% the fault of Ross Wilson.

Just taking a shot back at all the criticism. At 20 Rooney had been playing for 4 years. This is Tillman's first season in a first-team environment. Maybe it's just me, but I don't expect a 20-year-old to be playing every minute. Moreover, i felt the reason he hadn't been playing every minute was because he was being introduced gradually; he then dropped out of the team for a couple of games, and now he's played the full 90 minutes in the last 3 games (excluding the last game, where I thought he was extremely unlucky to get subbed).
