  1. Aberdeen have barely had the ball, but win a stupid foul in our half. Of course, they lump it into the b --- Never mind. KEEEEEENNNNNNTTTTTT!!!! 0-1.
  2. Balogun looks quite assured.
  3. I like the fluidity of the front three/four, but I think Morelos is too deep and the whole play is a touch slow.
  4. That's pretty much full-strength, IMO.
  5. That's kind of what I thought. I'm still quite happy with the signing, though. He has the athleticism; the finer match qualities can be worked on.
  6. Yes, it is. I only found 3 players that looked viable in a 40-man list of top goalscorers in Europe. It's not easy to find goalscorers like that. I'm not sure we'd be able to afford him, though. I'd say the average outgoing transfer fees from Swiss Clubs is around £8-9 Million.
  7. I agree about Murphy. I wasn't too impressed with Bassey, albeit in very brief glimpses. He looks like a unit, with pace. I think he tried to do the right things, but they didn't come off, and he was quite wasteful when I saw him. I'm still pretty hopeful, though. However, your last point: don't you criticise Morelos for scoring unimportant goals, yet Stewart's goals/assists were all towards the end of games when they were already won? I wold like to see Stewart get more game-time, though.
  8. Nsame was one of the players I noted above on the Golden Boot list (good goalscorers from lesser leagues), but I assumed he would cost too much. He has 30 goals in 30 league games; 36 in 41 all in. Obviously, the source is unreliable.
  9. Don't be silly - it's more like this:
  10. Man City have made a £41M bid for Bournemouth's Nathan Ake. Underlines how bad Chelsea are at developing/utilising players: they've had Lukaku, De Bruyne, Salah, Van Aanholt (not rival, but developed into a good player), Brewster, Matic and now Ake subsequently picked up by 'rivals'.
  11. According to SSN, West Ham are interested in Josh Maja.
  12. Often all three will sit back, but it doesn't mean we're playing with 3 DMs.
  13. We only play one DM. I disagree with your second point too.
  14. The transfer Window is open until 5 October.
  15. No - I don't see Zungu as a central DM; I see him as occupying one of the wider positions. Jack and Kamara are preferred for the DM slot taken by Davis in recent years.
  16. Davis is finished, IMO. It's a shame because he has been a great servant and a wonderful player. His body can't do what his brain wants. You can see him attempt the same things that he did so well at the start of last season and prior, but he's sluggish in his execution. He'll only be a bit-part player this season.
  17. Perhaps a wee bit early, but... we're back! Aberdeen 0 - 2 Rangers FGS Hagi
  18. The type of goals is a worry: they're mostly penalties or coming from a press. How many times to we get the latter in Scotland? (Or the former?!) Good for Europe. It's just Youtube, though... Looking at the clips of Zungu again, he seems to be able to drive with the ball, and play some good long-range passes. He's not the attacking midfielder you want, but he looks to be able to provide some forward momentum.
  19. I think Osijek have been playing a 3-4-3, so Maric has experience of playing in a front three, or with a central striker with a couple playing off him. He actually looks like he's played off the main striker too, which is strange but impressive.
  20. I actually see him as a box-to-box player, rather than a DM. He's actually played in numerous positions: DM (31), CM (61), and AM (28) -- and even 20 games as a Left-winger! https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bongani-zungu/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/240892 I see the benefit in bringing more energy to one of those wide central midfield roles we use. I'd like to see anther attacking midfielder too - or, at least after a couple of forwards.
  21. This doesn't bode well for the rest of 2020 - @ian1964 has just corrected failed embedded tweet!
