  1. I like what we are trying to do here. Two young and hungry ball playing central defenders with a seasoned pro like Eustace sitting in front pulling the strings (hopefully). It looks like a plan. A formation. An ethos. Sure beats the Age of Jig and random journeyman foreign overpaid duds. Bring on the Revolution!
  2. Every time Mark Warburton opens his mouth it fills me with even more confidence. This is what we needed 10 years ago never mind 3 years ago. The guy is a breath of fresh air and I love the fact he has zero connection with Scotland, Rangers, The Media et all. IMO he will be the most important signing Rangers have made since they brought in Souness nearly 30 years ago. And as much as I hate to bring up the whole McCoist thing, I get the impression that by doing the simple things properly, this guy is only going to highlight how badly we have been managed on the field over the last few years. As if we didn't know already
  3. You are kidding? McLeish would have been another massive step backwards and god knows we've had plenty of them. He's a nice guy and I appreciate what he achieved over a decade ago but he is the last thing we needed. For some reason unknown to me, he has turned into a manager that seems more interested in worrying about the opposition than believing in his own team. Having watched many Brum and Villa games, his teams would have put you off football for life. People go on about experience as if it's some kind of benchmark for possible managerial success but if your recent experience is littered with negative and dire football, how relevant is it?
  4. I still get a shiver down my back thinking that McLeish was even linked to managers position again. That would have been the final nail in the coffin for this supporter.
  5. Hopefully the first brick in what I hope is to become a giant revolutionary wall!
  6. Apparently he played for Killie on loan. He's also a ROI Under 21 international
  7. Don't know anything about him TBH but at this stage the new manager has all my trust. If he has worked with him before that's good enough for me. Good age and hopefully good value
  8. Good debate guys. I think from my own POV, there is a duty upon the keepers of the keys at Ibrox to build a new future for our club and team beyond just winning at all costs. The multitude of events over the last 10 years or so have tried the patience of many a fan and I have to admit it's caused to me to fall out of love with football in general. The utter neglect and contempt shown by a raft of owners/leaches over the last 5 years was bad enough to swallow but to see our entire footballing enterprise being so overlooked and abused by various individuals for me was sometimes harder to take. I can probably count on one finger the progressive decisions we have taken for the sake of our footballing ethos over this period and I genuinely feel that is about to change. No more Kenny Millers on fat wages. No more backwards thinking. We need to get a new generation of fans back through the door based on the football alone and I feel with an appointment like Warburton, we are at least giving ourselves the chance. The past is past. Let it stay there
  9. As much as I will always be appreciative of what Walter has done for Rangers, that door should be closed. It's the past and that's where it should stay. IMO our obsession with continually looking back has held us back over the last 10 years or so. It's short termism at it's worst. We need a fresh start. A blank sheet of paper. We need to move on and give this guy the time and space to help rebuild our club and lay the foundations for the next 10/20/30 years.
  10. Words of wisdom? I shudder to think... "Right Mark...if the you find that bypassing the midfield and punting the ball twenty times to the strikers is not working, don't worry. Just keep trying. Football by chance and not design is the future." "Remember you'll need a limited player like Lee McCulloch/Christian Dailly to fit badly into various positions and be an empty jersey. He'll also offer some dig...ie. foul after foul...." "Play as many players as you can out of position" "Don't practice any dead balls or corners. It's a waste of time" "Get Coisty or Duranty in the background to keep the lads happy" "If you have a player that shows any signs of skill, make sure you drum that out of him by benching him or playing him in the wrong position" And so on, and so on....
  11. I'm pretty sure their budget would have been one of the lowest in the division to
  12. Agreed. This is one thing that cannot be overlooked about football. It's not good enough to simply rely on loyalty IMO. Fans need to be engaged with what's on the pitch and the direction we were heading over the last few years under Ally was losing fans by the minute. We were in danger in losing a generation of fans due to the turgid football on offer and I hope to god we cannot claw these young people back with a new exciting product on the park.
  13. Even though this is a press conference, this feels like night and day compared to the nonsense we've had to listen to over the last few years. Happiest and most excited day as a Bear in years
  14. Welcome to the talentless world that is the Scottish Football media Mark...
  15. IMO, this is the most progressive thing we have done in years. Firstly, I'm very excited (and surprised tbh) that we have managed to capture a manager with such a great reputation for playing attacking football as well as developing young players and one that could walk into any job in the vastly competitive English championship. Secondly, I am glad it's a fresh start. No connection to the past, 9IAR or the turgid brand of football we have had to suffer for years now. For the first time in ages I feel we look ahead to an exciting future as opposed to a badly recycled version of yesterdays glories.
  16. Hi Guys. New member on here so go easy. Does anyone know if today's press conference is being beamed live? Cheers
