The Summer 2022 Rangers Transfer Window Rumours and Deals - Thread
CammyF replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
A modern day Ronald DeBoer wouldn't go wrong. Or the next Big Bert Konterman -
Soutter had a good game but it's worth remembering we played most of the game without a recognised striker. Gordon also had a great game, his save from Aribo gets better every time I watch it (although it should have been a pen). But without a doubt Bassey was our best player by some distance, but Wright contributed significantly.

1-0 Hertha - goal in 3rd minute.

The Summer 2022 Rangers Transfer Window Rumours and Deals - Thread
CammyF replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Agreed regarding CH, that's why I think a 1 year deal for Balogan wouldn't be worst move. -
I'm probably wrong but I thought Wilson stated prior to January window that we didn't need to sell and had money to back the manager. Given my failing memory, I can't remember if that pre-dated the AGM! No matter, I think the board will find it difficult to defend not giving Gio money to invest in the squad during this transfer window (be it money we've made in Europe or from a sale of a player, or a combination or both).

Again, did you read the article? It has been suggested the Gilmour has been told by Chelsea he is not in their plans going forward. If he was, contract discussion would have taken place. If Chelsea do offer a contract to Gilmour to protect their asset, he doesn't need to sign it, he is nowhere near Chelsea' s 1st team squad, possibly told he is not in their plans, why sign an extension? Who is going to pay £15M or upwards for a player in the last year of their contract? If Billy is ambitious and wants to play for a "big team", who realistically buys him? Man City? Liverpool? Arsenal? Spurs? Man U? If not any of them, then he's taking a step down. He may or may not come to Rangers, but Rangers is a far better option for Gilmour and Chelsea than Leeds, Southampton or the likes.

For what it's worth, here are some snippets I heard today - not from in the know, but someone who does get info now and again - take it how you will. Maybe true, maybe a pile of dog doo ; Alfredo close to signing a 3 year extension. Kent and Aribo have been offered new 4 year deals. Kent and his partner have just purchased a new house in Milingavie area. Discussions to commence with Bassey on extending his current contract. We are interested in bringing Billy Gilmour on loan and discussions have commenced as Gio wants business done early.

Glad Burnley went down - might be regretting ditching Sean Dyche now.

Or the consultant he paid handsomely to "clinch the deal". -
What a turnaround at City, not finished yet tho

I'm sure they'll inform you if the feel the need or urge.

Not what you claimed previously - anyway, I'm out as this must incredibly boring for every one else.
-
Again, in your opinion. You appear to have a lot to say about something you find uninteresting and someone you find irrelevant
-
Well that's an interesting statement - how I pray that one day my thoughts are as unlimited as yours

Or just two or three 'inept" referees or a vote to move Winter Breaks....... -

You also have to wonder what lengths SPFL and member clubs will go to ensure that there are no "stress points" in the ongoing contract. -
Why would I want to discuss it? I've already given my thoughts on it.

Already have - further up the thread.

If this wasn't Scotland and the SFA, you'd say that article was unbelievable - a sad reflection of Scoland and Scottish Football. -

Getting Gilmour on loan could lead to getting him on a free in 2023. I'll admit that I don't watch many SPL games outwith our games so can't speak for how well Simms has performed this season. However, I've watched us play Hearts in 4 SPL games and honestly can't remember if Simms featured nevermind how he performed. Just checked his stats and he has played 17 games for Hearts scoring 5 goals. He had a loan at Blackpool previously where he played 21 games and scored 8 goals. -

You're not comparing apples with apples. Simms is a "target-man" whilst Gilmour a playmaker. I don't think he won everything yesterday. He was effective for first 30mins or so then was barely noticeable after that. Also managed to miss an open goal from a a few yards out.
