It's what we do though. It's hard to imagine what fans expect Rice to do playing in a team that's struggling. He may show better qualities when surrounded by good, well coached players, just like his current manager did.

I don't know. I didn't know Jock Stein so have no insight to why he hated Rangers, other than the fact he managed Celtic. He did have a great signing philosophy though, one that hindered us for years and saw us miss out on the likes of Kenny Dalglish and Danny McGrain.

I think you'll wait a long time for an explanation if he gets appointed. If the next Rangers manager is successful I don't think most of us will care where his "affections" lie.

As far as I can see, he (Rose) doesn't have any indiscretions. Unless having a Celtic scarf on for a few minutes after wiping the floor with them counts. It's all hypothetical anyway as we don't know if he will get the job, or even be considered.

You mentioned players tho.... Sure Jock Stein OK for them.

I don't need to let it sink in, I do go and watch Rangers now and again. The board were slow to sack Clement so left themselves in an awkward situation given the impending takeover. They then did what they do best - went for the easy / lazy option hoping it would appease the fans (like we're zipped up the back). But again, no matter how bad we are at the moment doesn't excuse Clement and can't be, in retrospect an excuse for keeping him on.

I'm sure Mo Johnston and Neil McCann did OK for us.

But surely any new manager is going to have to recruit players with those attributes? I just hope any we do recruit don't have an unstaunch name, have leanings to our rivals or have any photos from 8 years ago they need to explain to some unhinged football fan.

With Heart & Hand tweeting about the type of players we'd need to fit Rose's playing style, does the rumour have some substance? If it hadn't I'd have expected H&H to come out and rubbish the rumour. But hey, what do I know.

Those are legitimate reasons for questioning his appointment, wearing Celtic scarf for a few minutes after a game isn't. If you are wanting a manger who understands Scottish Football and who'd be successful, that's a very limited pool - Big Bad Ange, Derek McInnes and Calum Davidson. All pie in the sky anyway as at this moment in time it's simply a rumour.

Yet some want us to throw more youngsters into the first team.

Well, the bookies seem to think there is a chance he'll be "near Ibrox". You don't go from 30odd/1 to odds on favourite just because I put a tenner on him.
