  1. Currently, we are being portrayed, and seen as the BNP, Hezbollah, Al Qaeda of football and have a huge job to turn this perceived image around. However, this is a direct consequence of Dodgy Daves continued refusal to publicly back us, the Rangers support.

For years, many media outlets in this country have openly lied about the actions of Rangers fans. From the supposed riots in Sunderland and Bradford to us cutting our pitch to resemble a sash to the annual criticisms of our kit, sections of the mhedia have shown their agenda ââ?¬â?? to demonise Rangers Football Club and itââ?¬â?¢s supporters.

Now, I could go on and on about things that have been printed in certain papers by certain journalists, but I am aware that the Amazon rain-forests are running out of tress and I dont want this blamed on Rangers fans.

Anyway, its safe to say that we all know the main culprits and their many lies and innuendos. I have to interject here and discuss the UEFA decision and that by not challenging this, David Murray has given our enemies ammunition and by god are they using it to their advantage. The RST rightly said that only through education and not condemnation could we change attitudes, they are right, but it is a pity the media dont see it this way.

We are working to eradicate some of the songs and chants that are heard at Ibrox and elsewhere, and after the UEFA decision we were promised that the club would take the lead and inform us what we can sing and how they were going to promote and celebrate our proud history and tradition.

Linfield Football Club have, through community work, education and PR positively created an inclusive club which still promotes and celebrates its loyalist roots. We could learn a thing or two from Linfield. In a recent Sunday rag, they told the journalist all of the above and came out with some good press.

Meanwhile, David Murray sits in his office counting our cash whilst allowing everyone and their dog to have a go at us. The latest is the Daily Record and their take on why the Bolton friendly was cancelled. Now, as I have said previously, compare his ââ?¬Ë?dignified silenceââ?¬â?¢ to attacks on US to his fast, strong and legal attacks on anyone who dares question Mr Murray or his suntanned mukka Mr Bain.

In all honesty, I am at the stage where I believe that Murrays malaise has spread to a majority of the support who either dont care what is written about us, or worse, actually believe what is written about us. So, what can we do? That is the $64,000 question.

Firstly, we have to openly admit and embrace our past ââ?¬â?? we are a football club who represent the Protestant traditions in Scotland and further afield. This is NOTHING to be ashamed off ââ?¬â?? it should be celebrated. However, we are an inclusive club who welcome fans / players / employees no matter their colour, creed or religion.

Secondly, we have to convince our fans that by celebrating our Presbyterianism, this doesnt mean disrespecting other religions.

Thirdly, we have to do this publicly whilst fighting our corner in the media. That will require a PR Department that will rapidly respond to any inaccuracies that are published in the media. By doing this, we will show that we mean business and the journalists will be treated with respect, only if they treat us with respect and fairly ââ?¬â?? after all that is all we ask.

Can this be achieved? Yes and easily. However, can it be achieved with David Murray at the helm? I seriously think not ââ?¬â?? this is going to get worse before it gets better unless Murray acts and acts swiftly ââ?¬â?? over to you Mr Chairman.

  2. It gets better, the more you read about them - this is classic ;

    "We are a predominatly left-wing, pro-Republican, anti-fascist group.''

So much for - We are an all-inclusive group.

And on their messageboards they are trying to drum up support for songs about the Ibrox disaster - They All Fell Down The Stairs (repeat) and If You Cannae Do The Tumble Your A Tim...

    Typical vermin.

  3. If you remember last season, the Jungle Bhoys imploded over the anti-sectarian and racism banners that were unfurled at Parkhead in gte final OF game of the season. In their remaining home games, sections of TJB indulged in sectarian and racist chanting (I'd rather wear a turban than a sash - soon there will be protestants at all and various IRA ditties).

    Well, now parts of the Jungle Bhoys have set up a splinter group called, wait for, Bhoys From The Green Brigade (I kid you not). Here is their manifesto - it is fucking hilarious reading guys and gals ;

"Out of the ashes of the Jungle Bhoys, comes the Green Brigade.

I was involved in the JBs last season, but after Bannergate, I, along with many others, could never go back. So the 'splitters' decided to hold a meeting, where it was decided we'd go ahead with a new group.

In recent seasons, there has been much debate about the atmosphere, or to be more accurate, the lack of atmosphere at Celtic games. To counter the perceived apathy amongst our support, a group named the Jungle Bhoys was formed. For various reasons, we do not feel that this group will be able to fulfill our aspirations and properly reflect the true nature of our support base. We are not set up in opposition to the aforementioned group and wish them every success in what they hope to achieve.

We aim to offer an alternative to them. We are open to everyone who cares passionately about our great football club. We acknowledge and embrace the traditions of our support and hope to get some passion back into the stands. For some following Celtic is a hobby akin to going to the cinema or watching their favourite group. Their pernicuous influence has taken root and now it has become fashionable to come in late and leave early and spend the time in the stadium chatting to your mates via text messages. We do not intend to tell anyone how to support their team but if you are one of these people then our group is not for you. If, on the other hand, you still view going to the football as an experience to be savoured then you will find like minded people within our ranks. Here are a few bits of information about our group, as well as some of our aims.

-The Green Brigade is an ultras group. We admire the way that fans in Europe support their team, and we would like to add some of that passion to our support.

-We are an all-inclusive group. We will not discriminate against people because of their race, religion, political stance, etc, though nazi's/fascists are not, and will never be, welcome within our ranks.

-We are not run by a committee. Every decision goes to a vote in which all members can have their say.

-We believe Celtic's history is firmly rooted in Ireland, as well as Scotland.

-We believe we should be allowed to sing about the struggle of the Irish people, without fear of ejection from the stadium.

-We will not be dictated to by the PLC.

-As we refuse to co-operate with the PLC in any way, our displays will be limited, predominantly, to away grounds.

-We aim to support our team through song, whether we win, lose or draw.

-We aim to add colour to Celtic Park, and whatever other stadium Celtic play in.

-We aim to make going to watch Celtic fun again.

If you want to help out in any way, whether it be hands-on, like helping out in the making of banners, setting up of displays, or helping with fundraising, donations, acquiring materials, then visit or messageboard at greenbrigade.proboards77.com

We welcome any constructive criticism and ideas from our fellow fans, as "football without fans is nothing".

    Green Brigade"

  4. Jackson and The Retard are trying to dig themsevles out of a hole without losing 'face' - all they are doing is digging deeper - long may this continue.

Ding, Ding, Round 2 - Over to the RST (which I am a proud memeber of now!)

  5. Cammy i have stated before that it is modern management to contract companies to do the likes of catering so as not to have staff on your books that could end up being a financial noose around your neck. I am sure the 14 mill profit is not all taken from Ibrox so it is a bit unfair to say we have lost that amount of money. For Rangers to employ staff, managers, purchasers, accountants etc, for the few pies and hamburgers that they sell every second week would be bad business in my opinion.

Pete, if Murray had kept Azure as 'part of Rangers' and allowed it to expand as it is currently doing - no reason not to - then that £14M pounds profit would be ours. Azure manages to sell a few pies and hamburgers every other week, employ staff, managers, purchasers, accountants etc, and still rake in £14M profit. Rangers have staff, managers, purchasers, accountants etc, that work over all 'businesses'.....

Is it possible to sell land worth say a million for one pound? Would inland revinue not have something to say about that?

Obviously it is, as Murray sold The Albion to his son for that sum and GCC sold the area around Parkhead, displacing residents etc for the same sum.

    Cammy F

  6. Yep, that is the problem

Well done to the RST for getting the info and scoring the victory, but without the actual CLUB taking action, it's a very hollow one ..... we need these people banned from Ibrox, simple as that, and the only people who can do that are those running our club!

Very true, but we also need to get the attention of the majority of fans who have no problem with the media telling lies. In fact, there is a section of the Rangers fanbase who believe everything that has been printed about us.

These fans need to be engaged and turned around ASAP as well us trying to get Murray and the board to act. It's a tough job, but one that needs to happy soon.

    Cammy F

  7. Hmmm, can't see Murray outsourcing to anyone that doesnt make him money :(

But, in the long run, it WILL make him money. When the RST take the media to task, their reputation will grow, more people will join the RST and more will take part in the share / save scheme - win win situation for Rangers, Murray and the fans.

    Cammy F

  8. Here is a novel idea - why not 'outsource' the PR to the RST? David Edgar and Stephen Smith have been excellent when they have appreared in the press. In fact, DE ripped Speirsy a new one live on air recently.

This would ensure that Rangers fans were running the PR, would mean much needed income for the RST and we'd be safe in the knowledge that no journalist would be allowed to tell lies about is in print or on air.

    Cammy F

  9. Agree on them all, but what CAN we do?

Surely this really needs some fan action now?

It requires the 'silent majority' of Rangers fans to wake up and see the untold damage this 'dignified silence' is doing to our reputation.

Today, the RST scored a MAJOR victory for us by getting the real truth from GMP that made Jackson looking like the lying scumbag that he is.

Imagine, given that the RST are a bunch of unpaid fans, how easy and powerful a Rangers PR Department could be - allied to the RST and the many fans who do contact media outlets etc (GMP confirmed that many RFC fans had called them today).

We are the only ones that can get Murray to act, and we are the only ones that can get retractions from the press. However, we need to act and act together.

    Cammy f

  10. What an opportunity for Mr Murray to get massive respect from us, the fans, by banning The Daily Record and its 'journalists' from Ibrox for the latest sensationalist and inacurate slur against Rangers FC and the fans.

Will he take it, not whilst they still put money into his back pocket.

    Cammy F

  11. Well done Talk Sport ...... and i usually HATE that station with a passion due to it's rather patronising attitude towards Scotland!

Not evident tonight - praised Scottish supporters all evening - especially us, the Rangers fans. He said early in the show that GMP had showed favoritism to Craptic for hosting 20,000 of them in Manchester and calling this game off.

He spoke of glowing reports from Derby, Ipswich, Fulhum, Newcastle, Manchester etc about how brilliant our travelling support is and how we 'make' a pre-season game / testimonial.

He also hoped that this doesn't start a domino effect and that next season, we are made welcome in England - he then talked about our global support, backed up by calls from Scotland, England, Wales and NI.

A brilliant piece of PR for us and all it contained was unbiased and truthful journalism.

    Cammy F

  12. People from the Bolton area on Talksport (including a St Midden fan!) are claiming that teams like Bolton and Wigan get a very raw deal from GMP (in comparison with Man U and City) and aren't surprised that they can not cope with the travelling fans. In fact, most were astonished that the game was given the go-ahead originally.

    Cammy F

  13. Mike Parry - this just isn't a regular club, this is a club that has worldwide support and interest

Everyone we've spoken to who have played Rangers recently only have good things to say about them - Derby, Ipswich etc.

    ----------

Excelllent and truthful reporting - it'll never catch on

    Cammy F

  14. But they have said that. It's on the BBC website and in other papers.

What they said on the BBC website isn't what you put on your last post Frankie - thats what I meant - they should have fully explained that the game was going ahead as they had invisaged 5,000 travelling fans, but due to increased numbers, the game had to be cancelled.

    Cammy F

  15. The Bolton game was actually arranged fairly late on.

At that point the GMP gave permission based on no more 5000 travelling bears. That number, because of the good weather, was expected to increase and the GMP (due to increased annual leave) didn't have the numbers to cope with the increase.

That's the reason and nothing else should be read into it - especially what Jackson suggested.

If that is the case Frankie / Wija, then this is what the Police should be telling the media rather than the the vague statement issued last night.

    Cammy F

  16. Being a friendly, and also being in the middle of Summer Holidays

Quote "do these idiots think the Police don't get Summer Holidays"

Just telling what I was told mate.

Yeah, but surely they knew how many officers would be on duty/holiday when the game was being planned?

We played Newcastle a few pre-seasons ago where around 15,000 Rangers fans travelled to Newcastle. There Police were bound to have been on 'holiday' as well, but they managed - there was no trouble and both sets of fans had a great time.

Chelsea are playing Craptic in London in a few weeks time - this has the potential to be a riotous affair, yet this has been given the go-ahead. Will the MET have officers on holiday then?

    Cammy F

  17. Wija, I am not doudting your source, but surely GMP have dealt with bigger crowds than the 25,000 or so that were going to be at The Reebock? Man U regularly get 65,000+ fans and I would imagine that the Police have policed Manchester derbies, Man U v Liverpool games and top European games.

If it was due to lack of resource, why wasn't the game rescheduled to a date where they had the resourse? Or why did they originally agree to the game? They must have known then how many fans we would bring down. Recently, we have taken 10-15,000 fans to Ipswitch, Derby, Newcastle, London etc with no problems what so ever.

GMP force is the 2nd biggest in the UK....there is something fishy here or maybe I'm just being paranoid

PS - good email tho! be interesting to see if you get a response!
