  1. Yeah it was a shame the way things turned out. Unlike certain managers from the dark side, no matter how bad things got he never blamed anyone else for the problems. Up until quite late in the last season I predicted that Eck would be a Gers managers for a long time, how wrong I was.
  2. Apparantly big Bob is due to sign for Derby today. Anyone heard anything about this? Again why couldn't he have done this last week if he loved the Gers so much:confused:
  3. Did anyone else see it? He was being quizzed quite a lot about the difficult times during his time with Rangers and as usual his dignified answers really impressed me. I know we've been over it a hundred times but a lot of shit was thrown a Eck which may or may not have been warranted but we did have some great times. They showed clips of the treble win and last seasons CL run and I have to admit it I did get a lump in my throat. I wish him all the best in whatever he does next.
  4. Even though Prso is not an out and out striker I still feel he is an important player to have on the pitch as he links the midfield to Boyd so well. Until we have someone more creative through the middle it's going to be either Prso or Buffel behind a lone striker.
  5. IMO it doesn't look like our sqaud is as thin as people make it out to be. We now have at least two players for each position and there are a few others that could play in various positions plus the reserves. I'm quite happy with this squad, now we can forget about transfer gossip and concentrate on the serious stuff. Mon the Gers:thup:
  6. Yeah, I watched the reserve game last night on RTV and Ashikodi looks pretty impressive. He has a right burst of pace but he probably has to do more on his physical side before he will get a chance in the first team.
  7. I didn't say I wasn't interested Ally. I said I am not worried. Meaning I still feel confident (at this stage) that we can finish higher than them this season.
  8. They are both quality players and both have the physique to deal with the EPL. Once this is confirmed I think I'll be making a change to my fantasy football team.
  9. Totally agree with these comments Craig. But let's be honest people will always find something to moan about even when things are rosey. Personally I've not been this excited about a new season since Advocaat arrived and nothing has changed. I am not worried about what the other half of Glasgow are doing and apart from the DF game I've really enjoyed watching this team play. Fingers crossed we can bang in a few goals against Falkirk and get some of the doubters off PLG's back.
  10. What about last seasons CL money, has that already been spent? Another player I'm surprised we've not been linked with is Jonathan Woodgate, imo he could do a job for us and Real are looking to have him loaned our for this season.
  11. Totally agree Craig. I've said it before that it's more important that the manager picks the best team and not the best players. IMO Celtic are going down the short term fix route and as we all know it doesn't work. Our priority is much more long term. The average age of the squad is now around 25 and apart from the loan players most of the new signings are on 3-4 year contracts. This is the way PLG works and he is looking for achievable targets which will fit into his systems. Correct me if Iam wrong but I don't think he ever went and spent a fortune on big names at Lyon, what he did was bring in players with huge potential and made them into big names, ie Essien, Juninho and Diarra and look where he took them. Strachan is tactically inept and there no guarantee that these new signings will gel. I'm not worried.
  12. I don't think you can deny he is a quality midfielder but it's certainly not value for money. £2 mil and 40K per week wages for a 30 year old:admin: It reminds me of some of the crazy signings we made a few years ago. They will learn.
  13. I'm not criticising the manager or play at all at this stage and I am really enjoying the style of football we are playing but you've got to admit it is really frustrating when you see how bad Celtic have been playing yet they have more points. In August we have taken 6 points from a possible 12 and apart from Hearts and possibly Killie the other two are expected to finish in the bottom 6 and could even be relegation contenders. I believe these chances will start to hit the net soon and the longer we continue to play this system the more effective it will become. Bring on the Falkirk!!!
  14. I'm sure we will. Their defo coming, the hotel and flights are booked. It's gonna be a shit hot weekend.
  15. I'm sure Gio and big Amo used to cross themselves from time to time, which I have no problem with but if Boruc was doing it to wind up our fans then this is a bigger issue. Even so it's not as bad as what Lennon did with his DOB comments and spitting on the scarve yet this went unpunished!!!
  16. Is that a little collar i can see? If it is i like it. I much prefer a top with a collar
  17. Fair enough £1 or £1.50 for one ticket but for 14 tickets it was costing £17.50which is way more than the postage
  18. Even so £17.50 is a lot more than even a special delivery.
  19. I'm not disagreeing with you on the fact that Ricksen was a bit ott in some parts of the game and I think there was a bit of humour in the boos when he went off but with the Burke incident imo it could have been anyone. The ball was there to be won and he caught Burke's ankle. The fact that Burke went down so easliy, i'm thinking that perhaps there was still a weakness in his ankle but anyway according to the medical reports he will be back next week so it's a pointless argument now.
  20. I just went up to the ground there and bought the tickets. The only extra charge was £1 for using a credit card. So where does this extra 1.25 per ticket come from when you book over the phone:confused:
  21. I watched the game on RTV and imo there wasn't much in it. I think the media have again tried to stir up something our of nothing. It was an accident that could have happened to anyone, it's just the fact that it was Ricksen the papers have tried to make something of it to sell more papers.
  22. It's not the price that bothers me because 1.25 is actually quite small compared to some other on-line booking sites. For example on the same weekend we are going to see Badly Drawn Boy at King Tut's. To book on ticketmaster the booking fee is 2.50 plus the same again for postage. I went into King Tut's that afternoon and bought them over the bar and saved approx 40 quid of extra charges. That's 4 dances in Legs'n'co:admin:
  23. Oh dear....I can sense another Viktoria Zhizkov(spelling)
  24. A good friend of mine and 14 others are coming up to Glasgow from Derby for a stag do on the weekend of the Falkirk game. I thought it would be a good idea to take in the match (even though they are all Rams fans I have brainwashed them all into being closet blue noses) Most of them were at the Ted Mcminn benefit match in May and they are looking forward to sampling the famous Ibrox atmosphere. Anyway my mate called the ticket hotline to book the tickets and apparently they can't post more than 7 tickets at one time so he called me and aksed if I could pick them up from the ticket office (which is no problem) then the ticket hotline asked for a £ 1.25 booking fee per ticket. After spending £336 on tickets I think they have a cheek asking for this additional booking fee. Fair enough I could accept a 1.25 charge for the whole transaction but per ticket is a bit steep. This is the email of complaint he has sent, Myself and 14 other friends are coming up to see Rangers v Falkirk for my stag weekend. Trying to buy tickets over the phone I was amazed to be told that each ticket would be charged a handling fee of £1.25 each. After spending £336 already I declined to pay this. This is a total rip off and cannot be justified in any way. Having watched Rangers play in the Ted Mcminn friendly in May I was looking forward to see many friends again who we met over that weekend. You comments ,without patronising rubbish , would be welcome Anyway rant over, do you agree this is a big rip off or are we just being stingy bassas?
