Definately agree he should get a place on the bench based on his recent performances for the reserves but with the first team it's difficult to see who we could drop to fit him in. With CL league football about to start I'm sure there will be games where WS would like to rest someone like Mculloch, Beasley or even Whittaker.
  2. Glad you spotted my deliberate mistake!
  3. Ohhh of course the internationals. Doh! I forgot that Ireland were playing Slovenia. I would've watched it aswell. Did Sebo have a good game?
  4. Yeah big Archie is a legend for his pronounciations. Remember Can-toe-na and Dado Prooozo. One of my favourite memories was when he was doing the radio commentry (the tv reception was off) of the Scotland v Costa Rica game at Italy 90. There was a moment when he did his usual 'and Scotland have scored' then changed it moments later to 'oooph and it's hit the bar' but we didn't hear the second part and were already running round the house crazy. It wasn't until much later we realised that we hadn't scored. Good old Archie
  5. I get the feeling he wont be back again. On the other hand if he has a good season in France, WS might give him another chance. Both JCD and DC are in their 30's so they wont be around for long. Sebo is still fairly young and could be a long term replacement for either of them.
  6. I'd heard a rumour that he had been pumping Strachan's daughter and that's why he doesn't get a game for the scum. Shame your windowcleaner pal didn't get any pics of that on his mobile.
  7. It says on the official site that he could feature today.
  8. Nothing planned as yet but would love to go to the Camp Nou to watch the Gers. Was in Monaco a few years back. That was a fantastic couple of days and there was not one bit of bother. The French were applauding us as we walked through the airport on the way back.
  9. I don't know much about this Faye guy but a mate from England just sent me a text to say that his second touch is a tackle. Sounds promising!!!! not
  10. After looking at the rest of the teams in pot 4, I'm actually glad we couldn't get drawn against any of them. Besiktas, Fenerbahce, Olympiakos NO THANKS. I'm well chuffed with the draw and contrary to what Chick Young thinks, I definately believe we have the most glamorous group. The eyes of Europe will be watching. Let's give them the show they want to see. Mon the GERS!
  11. I would say that Barry Ferguson plays in more of a similar position to Ian Ferguson than Whittaker, in which case I'd say Barry is a better player than Ian was. The only other one might be Cuellar over Brown from what I've seen so far. And you've missed out the LEGEND that is Scott Nisbet:fish: Apart from that the 92 team was far superior.
  12. Understood, but if Athens had qualified before tongihts draw they would have been in pot 4, meaning that all the teams with a higher ranking would move up a pot. i.e the tims would move into pot 2 and we would be in pot 3. Regardless of the circumstances it does seem a little unfair if they were to automatically qualify for pot 2. On the other hand if Athens are in pot 2 it's a bonus for the teams below as one of the groups would have the equivelant of 2 pot 4 teams I know it probably wont matter anyway as Seville are expected to go through but stranger things have happened
  13. How is the draw going to work today, if the Seville v Athens match is still to be played. They would be in in different pots and depending on which team goes through this will have a knock on effect on the pots other teams are in.
  14. Yeah I know what you mean mate. The team has done everything we wanted of them so far this season. Can't wait for the draw tomorrow. Would love to get Barca.
  15. Last nights performance just goes to show that we cannot sell this guy.
  16. The way I look at it, is that if it wasn't for AM's crucial saves we would be looking forward to the UEFA cup draw this week and not the CL so he get's my vote. I thought he look really assured and is turning into a really good gk. His shot stopping ability has never been an issue but his ability to deal with crosses has really improved. I also thought that Darcheville and Hemdani were excellent. The worst performers for me were Hutton and Ferguson. Hutton looked really nervous and Fergusons passing was well below his usual quality.
  17. I think that's the first time i've seen DJ's name in the same sentence as Seedorf!!
  18. It will no doubt be between Boyd and Cousin this year. As I've not yet seen enough of Cousin to decide I'll go for Boyd. The question is, do you think they could play together in the same team or do they need a Novo or JCD to play off?
  19. I was very impressed with Whittaker's debut, espceially in the first half. His runs from deep, his through balls and the overlaps with Hutton were things we have missed at Ibrox. Hopefully they can both remain injury free and go on to build a formidable partnership on the right.
  20. I thought the atmosphere was fantastic on Saturday. I brought my girlfriend for the first time since the advocatt days and even she commented on the singing and the band from the Broomloan stand. If this is what we sound like against St Mirren and Falkirk I can't wait for the first big games against the sheep and the scum.
  21. In another interview I heard on the radio this morning, I got the impression that WS was having a go at the fans for booing at the half time whistle but IMO I thought the booing was directed at the cheating/diving/time wasting Serbs rather than our players.
  22. Cuellar again without a doubt. But it is a worry that in our last two home games a central defender has been man of the match. What we really need is the likes of our wingers/strikers to be having mom performances especially at home against supposedly weaker opposition.
  23. Big Carlos was outstanding. He gets my vote without a doubt.
