  1. Foderingham got his fingers to the Griffiths free kick to tip it onto the bar. Thats why the players gave him props at the time. It was a great save!
  2. I thought Dom and Big Rob were outstanding in the first half. Then when The big fella went of Ball stepped in and never missed a stitch. I would even have had Dom up there with McKay for MOM.
  3. I would have been happy to have just showed up and made a fist of it but we bossed that game from start to finish. Emotional!!!
  4. Actually the corner was from the other side. It was played into the area glanced header found a Raith player on the pen spot who controlled it and swept it back towards his own goals and collected on the front edge of our 18yard box, the player is then closed down by Haliday and Wilson with King to their right and Zelalem behind them, from there the ball is played out to the side of the box, Wallace tracks it and it is swung back into the mix with Wilson posted missing running back towards the goal... Kiernan is drawn towards the ball to try and win the header because there is no Wilson and Tav comes over to cover him. Holt is on the line with 4 Raith players around him. Miller is in space on the 6 yard box King the same on the 18yard box Zelalem and Haliday a yard apart are standing having a smoke at the pen spot marking nothing and no-one. That's 4 Rangers players standing marking space doing nothing and one (Wilson) still trying to get back to the header Kiernan couldn't reach. Keirnan and Tav in this occasion did what they should have but Wilson being out of position wasn't the only problem with that goal.
  5. I watched the Leceister game myself and the young lad Grey who came on late in the game played it particularly smart holding up play and drawing fouls in the corner. On a side note the park was absolutely immaculate for this late in the season.
  6. John Eustace is the name your looking for. I disagree with some posters on here about the defence in this game. Halliday and Tav were shocking for the whole game. MO'H isn't doing anything for me at all but that might have something to do with Tav rarely linking with him in the same way that Wallace and McKay do on the left. In fact its almost as if he cant see him at all. Our problems are in the middle of the park not the defence. There's not much the two CH's can do when they have 5-6 opposition MF and attackers running onto them. Thats what Halliday is there for... for the last few games I've seen he's always been caught too high up the park, either inside the OPs half or just inside ours he's been taking too long to gather the ball in and take care of it and more often than not loses it right there in the centre circle with Wallace and Tav high (as they should be) Wilson and Kiernan split at the corners of the 18yard box (as they should be) makes him more or less the last man. As I say he loses it with 3-4 MF running past him. Then the Two CH have to try and compensate. We've lost at least two goals to 6 yard box stramash's and that's because we've not dealt with the second ball. With two CH protecting the first ball from free's and conrner's its down to the MF, LB, RB to be picking up the runners and sort it out. EDIT: Just to be clear my own opinion of Wilson is that he's been a bomb scare at times. his distribution is woeful, doesn't reset or recycle as he should. However to his credit he has managed to get either his foot or body in the right position to make crucial blocks on numerous occasions.
  7. Great to see that very genuine exchange with MW and the young lad there.
  8. Gutted? As long as we give a good account of ourselves I'll be happy with that. They're no where near as good a football team as us but they are a big hefty team put together to win the PL. They've done nothing in any other competition outside of that for the last 4 years. We are a little light and it showed in the game against Dundee, not by much against them but, it did show none the less. If they come out and play against us then we'll rip them apart. I don't think that's how they'll set up to play us. Delilah will want to keep it tight, hit on the break and create set pieces. Here's how I think it will go they'll keep it tight for the first 5-10 mins then they wont do as they've been told. Their egos will get the better of them especially if Brown has anything to do with it. He'll go after Halliday as he is they only one who has been seen to react this season. So Andy will need to be smart in the heed about it. When they've got the ball they'll play up to the box and chuck themselves on the deck or round to the flanks for corners from challenges and deflections. They'll kick, push and pull at anything that moves I'd expect our team to be nursing a fair amount of bruising by half time. If we can survive that onslaught and play around them then we'll give a good account of ourselves and that'll do for me.
  9. I'll accept that as your last word on the subject mate. Ta for the contribution though.
  10. I like Lee he reminds me of my uncle, who incidentally and topically since we've been linked recently played with the famous pre and war time 'Lilly Whites' albeit not quite as creative mind but an engine to admire (Hibee or not he has my admiration).
  11. Indeed... I don't have any issues with that Limeburner... if the manager says no then ta ta bella! The reason I asked is because MW seams to prefer youth on the park (energy) while he covets experience off it (motivational/emotional/frame of mind). He does always talk about the right character both on the field, in the dressing room and in public life.
  12. Ahemm cough splutter... Slightly before my time but he was the first name I ever heard mentioned in of the conversations with my Da and his mates.
  13. Absolutely yes it does... especially if there is any veracity in the suggestion that they are in receipt of the £5-7k per week region.
  14. I fully agree with your appraisal of both in terms of their on the pitch contibution... however that's not really my question.
  15. I take it by that you don't feel they are up to the current squads remit... i.e. you don't feel they have the necessary skill levels in any capacity nor are they even Rangers class?
  16. Its a good piece if otherwise somewhat emotive. I think there is scope for the premise of the article but in saying that I also feel there is no particular need for the blunderbuss approach... If we are constantly intimating that there is a fringe support among us then it would only be fair to give leeway too.
  17. I thought Morton played well... No Jim Duffy side was ever going to lay down to us in the same fashion they might had we been wearing emerald green but we did show them that its not as simple as that.
  18. I debated with myself whether I should post this on a Friday night after a decent home result and a few sherbits rather than Sat afternoon or not... as I felt it might not gain the traction among the forum bears that I feel it deserves. In saying that I fully admit I am being a little facetious with the question. Kenny Miller, we already know quite early in MW's tenure, has earned himself a new contract. However should we also offer these two also rans a new contract too? The reason I ask is quite simply a morale question. The word coming out of the camp in the early days of the season was that John Eustace contribution was a vital component in the squads morale. Securing John as a player, for various reasons, never quite worked out and so John returned to whence he came. However... from my perspective his absence has left an opportunity for anyone within the current setup to make that role their own. Hey presto... as if by magic... a couple of characters emerge like a rabbit out of the magic hat. Those characters are none other than our own Dean Sheils and Nicky Law. Now I have to admit neither of these two players, with the exception of a sporadic deft touch here and there by Dean, have ingratiated themselves to me nor their vision or play styles. That however doesn't quite tell the full story though. The reason it doesn't is that, almost to a man, every single young and relatively inexperienced youthful player in our various squads has lauded each of these fellows as both exceptional talents and also as a crucial link in the chain towards the first team. My question therefore is; on this basis should we offer these two an extension to their contracts or do you feel that the endorsement by the youths it just a jobs for the boys routine?
  19. MW interview on Talk sport the other day was a breath of fresh air he completely extracted the urine with regards to the Scottish press. There's a very noticeable difference in interview when its not partisan.
  20. To all intents and purposes... Yes we were! However, although I'm appalled at the behaviour of those who made that happen, I prefer to discuss it in as detached a manner as I can. Kicked, cast and to a certain extent sent all have a negative emotive content when discussing what went on. Sent, for me is the least emotive and its for that reason alone that I use it. In other words I'm not raising the point just because I'm upset about it I'm raising the point because it is 'unprecedented'! In contrast, anecdotally, I once had a conversation with two blokes, a Brian Dempsey and a Dominic Keane who just happened to be among the guests of a wedding function I attended at the time of the east end fiasco in the 90's. Our table party made it clear which side of the old firm we favoured yet in spite of that they both took the time to sit and chat with us over a glass of cordial or two. We voiced our concerns with regards to whether or not they would be successful in their bid to arrest control and what it would mean for our game in general. We all agreed that in order for our game to maintain a high profile in terms of marketability and remain competitive, at home and in European/International competitions, both sides needed to maintain a healthy working relationship. Now it could have been a load of plausible old tosh that they were coming away with. However Dempsey offered more in conversation than was probably necessary by intimating that he was in regular correspondence with their then counterpart Murray and that as far as he was concerned it really couldn't work in the long run without that working relationship. There was no 'your club is deed' nonsense from our side of the table that's for sure only concern that should they be unsuccessful then by proxy the possibility might weaken us. As I say either it was all garbage or other people got involved in that clubs affairs fuelling the rabid loons on the terraces, or using their smoke for cover, to float the idea that it wasn't a necessity. Personally I think there is more to the story than meets the eye however if I were to type it I would be straying into the realms of conjecture, supposition and possibly even conspiracy theory.
  21. In their attempt to prove that Rangers are a new club they have, much like their support of the OBA, no idea that any investigation might/will affect them and their club just as much as it will any other Scottish club. In their rabid fervour it seems not to matter to them that UEFA/SFA/ECA etc etc have issued statements to confirm without any doubt that Rangers are indeed the same club as was established in 1872. I for one, would love for UEFA to investigate the actions of SFA in this matter; 5-way agreement & presumption of guilt, 1st division clubs, taking receipt of funds due to Rangers (transfer fees for Davis & Fleck) & keeping them (unless that has since been resolved and I've just missed or forgotten?), imposing punishments that a court of law declared were out-with their own stated terms, being party to the SPL's "blackmailing" of Rangers to give up TV rights before issuing a license a day before the league started... The stuff the OP relates to talks about "unprecedented" membership transfer between companies, when there clearly has been precedent; Leeds & Coventry for example. Obviously FA & SFA are separate but given their complaint is meant for UEFA, you would look further afield for comparative treatment. I remember reading an article a couple of years ago that read something along the lines of 40 clubs in England are now owned & operated under a different company number than since their inception. I've never heard of any that were sent to the bottom of their league system for doing that. In fact, us being sent to Division 3 is what is 'unprecedented' and so actually is worthy of investigation just not for the reason that mob would want! So as far as I'm concerned they should most definitely proceed. These are all important matters. Bear in mind though there are ramifications... should EUFA investigate and find against the SFA. Any punishment would be against the SFA and therefore affect all member clubs associated with the SFA.
  22. If we play like we did yesterday I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that they will kick everything above the grass.
