About flamin' time. Wonder how much he cost.
-
I don't want any Hibs players at all. To join Rangers, I mean.
-
He was on the verge of tears. But Alan Shearer was worse - he was a combination of distraught, furious and inconsolable. He was actually pretty embarrassing, and that comment he made was astonishing.

Weren't they just. Went on forever as well. England went out of the WC - no one died!

Does Roy Keane enjoy killing small animals?
-
Dunn - do you support Scotland at all?

As soon as he cheated and tried to get a man sent off I lost all respect for him. He deserves nothing. Curiously enough he tried it again last night.

PLG has already stated he's not to be part of the first team squad. Too young he said.

I feel like the guinea pig

I'm thinking of ordering the PLG pic for 15 quid but is it worth it? Anyone else ordered photos from the online site? What are they like and are they good value for money?

So McCormack is back from loan. Oh joys...

Their magic quartet was a real let down. The only one with pass marks was Kaka, and even he had less than an impressive tournament. Adriano was awful and Ronaldinho looked lost. Ronaldo broke Muller's record but still didn't look as good as the true Ronaldo can play.

If by best you mean least bad, yeah, I agree. They put in effort when they went a man down but their game was poor.

Incredibly the BBC have quoted the comment on their website!

Marv did a job for us, and will move on with every bear's full blessing - as honest a player as you will ever get but never part of PLG's revolution. Boab is much the same - not part of our future, but gave his all, didn't always get a fair deal but his distribution was outstanding and his reading of the game improved, but probably just off Rangers level. If the rest of his game was as good as his passing, crossing and free kicks, he'd be one of the best players in the league. Bernard was a bizarre signing and the less said about him the better.

Wonderful game this one - finished 1-0 to France and they were excellent tonight. They've been steadily improving as the tournament's progressed and Zidane was a maestro in the middle of the park. Ronaldinho wasn't in the game. Truth be told he's not been in the tournament. France dictated the game from start to finish and every one of their players produced a great performance. Except Barthez. He was a flapping idiot. Henry had a great game, Ribery was excellent, and Vieira was solid. We all expected Brazil to walk this world cup, but it hasn't happened and now the 2 top favourites for the cup have gone, and deservedly so. France look like a team now capable of winning the lot.

Well it was a pretty poor game with more talking points than its play deserved. Obviously glad to see justice done and England out on their arses; they were like Brazil - simply not good enough on the pitch to deserve anything more than they got. Portugal today seriously missed Deco and Costinha, and even then, England barely looked threatening. Their formation seemed to have been deployed by a manager who simply didn't have a clue how to use his players - and that's blighted England since he took over. This tournament has seen plenty of big name players underperform though, and today many of them were in an England shirt. Portugal deserved their win. I wouldn't say they were spectacular themselves but they got forward more and rarely seemed troubled at the back. Rooney once again let himself down on the big stage and surely a question mark hangs over his future now - he keeps doing such things when it truly matters, and is turning into a liability. However, did anyone notice Alan Shearer's fury about Ronaldo get the better of him and he invited Rooney to 'stick him'? It was quite possibly the least responsible thing I've ever seen any football pundit say, and I wouldn't be surprised if the BBC have second thoughts about having him on a permanent basis next year. Then again, I'm sure there will be a lot of English idiots who will probably sympathise with what he'd said. It was clear he'd received a warning through the ear piece and abruptly quit his comment. Anyway, the best part about all this is we can look forward to WC coverage without tedious 'reports from the England camp' from here on in.

At least he's scored at last. A player of his class really had to.

What an appalling performance from Ukraine in the first half. They seemed to think it was still the Switzerland game. They started to play in the second half but I got the impression the damage had been done. Still, they were unlucky not to equalize but that famed Italian defending was too good for them.

Not sure what to make of that game really. Wasn't the most thrilling of the WC, but wasn't the worst either. Tevez showed again just how good he is, Riquelme had a pretty average game by his standards. The penalties were clinically taken by Germany it must be said, and they owe a small thanks to Lehmann. They could well win the whole thing at this rate. But yes, what the hell was Heinze all about at the end. He completely lost it. I even saw him going up to Klose and ranting in his face, then Klose said 'What, who?', which was ignored, then repeated, which was also ignored. Good grief, I'd like to know what that was about.

Just to confirm, further to the targets he's said he's after, PLG said an absolute final and utter 'no' to Vikash Dhorasoo. Quite a few 'no's' at that.

Cry in a darkened room and chant obscenities.

Best WC player was Maradona. Pele was special but Maradona was a genius who's never been bettered before or since imo.

Actually, in all seriousness, I remember the last time we actually DID make a horrific start to the season. It was 89/90 and we lost to St Mirren at Ibrox then Hibs at Easter Road - Celtic were top, we were bottom, and the tims were the only team in the league with a 100% record. How times have changed eh?
