  1. True. At 31 years young and out of contract in the summer I would have expected a few other interested parties and not just on these shores.
  2. Indeed but we can dream! Advocaat may look favourably upon his old club and let us have him on the cheap
  3. I wonder if Man City sign Adam Johnson from Boro will Petrov become available?
  4. Immediately thought Christian Poulsen and thought we don't need any central midfielders but a left winger, or right for that matter, would be welcome.
  5. If true would suggest Bougherra OUT Shittu IN
  6. If we tried to get him on loan in the summer and City said no because Robinho wasn't fit then there's less chance now because Robinho has left on loan - that's before thinking about financing the deal.
  7. Hopefully not another Nieto type signing. Will the lad actually get a game with so many established players in front of him? Boyd, Miller, Lafferty, Novo, Naismith etc. Is the 2nd signing likely to be Ajsel? Since you mention he is out of contract?
  8. Good read and outlines everyones desire (I think) - we as supporters know nothing - we need reliable information and it has to come from someone we feel we can trust
  9. I read a post from scgers on FF and he was saying those involved are actively trying to reach a deal which may happen before the end of February. You get the feeling though that as soon as the club is sold the new owners are going to be under an enormous amount of pressure from supporters demanding to know what their plans are and can those plans be substained.
  10. Not for the first team I wouldn't think. It will be Lafferty and if he's not fit McCulloch.
  11. Assuming they had the £18m then surely they must have known any first approach lower than £31m would be rejected. Therefore if they were told £2m more surely they will return in the very near future If they cannot stretch to the extra £2m then do we really want them running our club?
  12. If only! The sooner this or any other takeover happens the better. Is this a different consortium than the one Graham Duffy was involved in or spoke about? However, as Bluedell has highlighted you are becoming like the boy who cried wolf.
  13. Wasn't there a premiership player last season who had a hernia op and was back in 2-3 weeks. Keyhole surgery repaired the problem and because of the less invasive nature of this type of surgery recovery time is a lot quicker.
  14. Surely not. Miller only misses one more game and Novo should be back soon so I reckon we'll see Lafferty, Novo and Beasley on Saturday.
  15. That, I guess, is very true but perhaps the idea is to have them cutting inside rather than hitting the touch line. It certainly worked last night with Beasley scoring and Novo creating for Miller. What I'd like to see though is a little bit of in game change i.e. Beasley and Novo switching wings for 20 minutes etc.
  16. I couldn't make the game on Saturday unfortunately. However, I heard Davis was outstanding. Is this correct?
  17. Do we? I am aware of interest (or is it just talk) from Graham Duffy but that's it. All this talk of Dave King, Douglas Park, Graeme Souness is just that - talk. Unless someone can prove otherwise
  18. I don't think the supporters would back a share scheme allied with our current benefactor. That has been proven in the past and I don't think he would tempt fate in the future. A new owner is a must and the sooner the better.
  19. Not so much recently though. It's Dave King or some Billionaire ex-Pat and the fans.
  20. I'm sure if someone invited him to become involved he would find it difficult to say no. However, did they/he say if they were currently part of a consortium?
  21. Joe Lewis was my first thought but he's not a Scottish expatriate. Also, hasn't he invested in Spurs and if any move to EPL materialised then he wouldn't be allowed a stake in two clubs.
  22. I guess it is time Davis was the target. Yes he is inconsistent and yes he does seem more effective in a wider position that centrally but I certainly don't think he's been any worse than Thomson or Mendes and to my mind has probably contributed more than those two. In all honesty Thomson has been awful since his return from injury and before Mendes was injured he tended to hide in game as well. It's unfair to blame Davis when his midfield cohorts have hardly set the heather alight. It could quite easily be argued that if we were to sell any of the aformentioned players we wouldn't miss them. Personally I think a lot of the blame lies with the constant tinkering of formation and personnel in the first 11. One week it's 4-5-1 then it's 4-4-2 then 4-3-3. With Edu and Broadfoot set to return soon (we are told) then this gives further scope for tinkering. I cannot see any need to change formation from 4-4-2 unless injury or suspension dictates and Davis would be wide right of a midfield 4.
  23. Gartside appears to be the only representative of an English club who is interested in this idea.
