  1. Yes, you are correct that people can represent other countries. But you said he regards himself as Scottish which is different from just representing Scotland. I’m sure a lot of the modern Scotlland English players don’t regard themself as Scottish. If you regard yourself as Scottish, ergo, you regard yourself as British. You simply cannot say that Scotland isn’t part of Britain!
  2. The individuals make up the party. If the party aren’t willing to speak up and distance themselves from their MPs making very public statements, then they are happy to stand by those statements.
  3. In agree, but it was commented above that apparently people were saying that you couldn’t be a Rangers fan and vote for independence. I was disagreeing. Nothing to do with party policy. I’m sure you can find all sorts of examples of people saying bad things about us but it’s an undeniable fact that the SNP have ramped it up recently. That is all.
  4. Also, the Celtic fans’ paranoia is based on here say and unfounded lies. For the SNP saying things about Rangers fans, you just have to look at Twitter and the newspapers - it’s there in black and white.
  5. No one has said that you can’t want independence. All I can see is people questioning how you can support a party that openly demonises our club.
  6. It is fairly obvious the SNP are anti-Rangers - there have been numerous examples over the years. That’s why this conversation was started! People are forgetting that this conversation arose because of a number of SNP councillors / MPs etc. we’re commenting on Rangers fans, not the other way round!
  7. Did you see the reasonably recent poll on MSPs and their footballing preference? Strangely enough there were hardly any Rangers fans. So two serious questions need to be asked - a) if there are a ‘normal’ distribution of Rangers fans compared to other teams then why are they hiding that fact? There must be a reason that a politician can’t say they support Rangers, or b) there are less Rangers fans representativen of other football teams. What is the reason for this? Are those with “Rangers backgrounds” being held back, and why? either way, it’s a very serious and potentially dangerous point.
  8. I wholeheartedly agree with this. I honestly think they are behind the massive shift in the way we are reported on and presented to the general public.
  9. I do tend to agree with this point in general but it is hard to argue against when there is a constant stream of attack on the club from SNP MPs.
  10. Well if he regards himself as Scottish, then by default, he is British. I don’t see how this is difficult for some to understand.
  11. I can’t wait to see how the moonhowlers spin this one.
  12. You can’t understand why the club, which is a business, doesn’t speak up about blatant press bais which will affect their customers?
  13. I’ve got no problem with people choosing independence although I disagree with it. I have a problem with people who continue to vote SNP whilst a large number of them openly vilify our support in public unfairly.
  14. Especially when trying to gain power in Glasgow, Scotland's largest population centre.
  15. I think some of our own fans here are writing the biased press reports for them. So if there wasn’t a police presence they would have been on the rampage? Again, I am against the nature of the march but to paint pictures of things that never happened is ludicrous.
  16. I don’t doubt that you can be royalist and pro-independence. But there is no denying about the Union Jacks and Rule Britannia. Likewise, there is no barrier to being both Scottish and British, which I believe the majority of the suporters feel. As for the not British thing, that is crazy! We are in Britain, hence British! You can be both Scottish and British!! Yes, the club is first and foremost Scottish but at Ibrox you will see just as many, if not more British flags. That’s a simple truth.
  17. I completely agree. But what I find incredible is that a lot of Rangers fans don’t see the even bigger shocking story which is the incredible media bias which is becoming stronger every single week.
  18. Rangers aren’t a British club? Yes they are. We are from Britain. There’s no denying that. I’m not a rampant Unionist but I am definitely pro-Union and there’s no denying that Rangers, as a club, is proud of its Unionist character. I don’t know if you’ve noticed the many Union Flags around the ground (as well as Scottish which I absolutely love) and the singing of Rule Brittania? Politics should play no part in football but in recent times (and the past) politics has forced itself into football. Again, I don’t know if you’ve noticed but our club and fans are constantly under verbal attack from newspapers (which have political agendas) and directly from politicians, especially from one party and historically from another. There is absolutely no denying that. The SNP seem happy to be slowly aligning themselves with an Irish Republican party and Rangers are always going to be an easy target to gain votes from those that are happy to see us being attacked.
  19. The ramping up of anti-Rangers stories is continuing. It has progressed from social media, to the red tops and now it has escalated to direct comments from MPs. Criminalisation was tried but that failed, however it will be approached from an alternative angle. The goal is to bring down a massive British institute which does have an influence on the social outlook of a major proportion of what is by far Scotland’s major population centre and beyond.
  20. Is that not a conflict of interest?
  21. I agree, that is what I would like but there will always be a group of idiots. I don’t know what we can ever do to change that. Are you not appalled that the focus is on a group of idiots with a stupid logo rather than our fans getting incendiary devices thrown into them? Or our fans being attacked on their way home?
  22. It is getting worse. The devices are going to get bigger and bigger until someone is killed. And the police and our club will be culpable as no one is calling out these odious idiots for what they are doing.
  23. I’m always going to accept that our fans have a group of nutters. It is almost completely avoidable. But how are they going to understand that what they are doing is wrong when they look across the city and see the mass unwashed doing the same thing and are either applauded for it or it is just ignored?
