  1. Don't disagree - I think it is well established that PLG had poor man management skills.

However, his bad man management should not be allowed to deflect from the bad influence that BF had IF true

    Can't disagree with that.

  2. Fair points but at no point has Barry Ferguson said he was completely blameless, which is an indication, to me at least, that he wasn't blameless. I also didn't say he was disruptive. At the same time there are also people who are very quick to judge that PLG was "working his ticket" - we will never know the truth - all I am saying is I don't think he should be captain. As for why did PLG play him when he was a disruptive influence.... maybe, just maybe, because PLG preferred to have the disruptive influence on the pitch - because even IF he was a disruptive influence there is no doubting that BF gave more fight and determination than any other player for Rangers and he was also our best player over the preceding weeks (BUT you CAN be the club's best player AND a disruptive influence at the same time). I am not saying he was but it is plausible.

Even if he is, there is still the perception he had something to do with it. Do you honestly think he makes for a good captain ? In my opinion he is our best player (in a bad team it must be said) but I don't think he is an effective captain.

If he picked Fergie despite him being a disruptive influence then that's more bad management from PLG. Even when people try to defend this guy he comes across badly.

  3. my mates todds agent and he knows nowt about it but says hes too good for us

Are you actually just lying there? This story only came about because of quotes attributed to his agent linking him with us.

Infact with this one it looks like his agent is touting him around and using us to drum up a bit of interest.

  4. Its obvious we're never going to sign the cream of the EPL but i was having a think at some of the types of players id like to see us go for.

Christian Dailly - Not the best defender in the world but would certainly shout about our back 4 and give his all.

Mathew Etherington - Was superb in West Hams promotion season 2 years back and started last season well but he been unlucky with a few niggles. I think when fit he could do a fine job for us in the left.

Claus Jensen - Similar to Quashie but after we lost out to him Jensen could do a job for us. He has experience, is a good passer/tackler and props up with the odd goal.

Massimo Maccarone (sp) - Under rated at Boro and badly treated but when he comes on he seems to score. With Dado retiring, Novo prob leaving and Sebo's future in doubt this is the type player who could be a good signing.

Alan Smith - Prob a dream but would still like to see us enquire about a loan.

Robbie Fowler - Again prob a dream but isnt playing much for Liverpool and i think he'd come to us in a minute. Would score for fun in the SPL

Its obvious you're other team is WH. Dailly? Are you having a laugh? This guy is murder and has been for years. Is he the slowest man in world football?

  5. With a decent midfield and full backs, Andrews wouldn't need ball skills. A short pass to a player who could do something with the ball is all that is required of a centre back after solid defensive duties.

For some reason many of our fans prefer defends who can't tackle or head but look good passing simple balls out of defence.

Andrews had his weaknesses and they were obvious to all, but he is a million times better at the back than a defensive midfielder who's scared to tackle and head.

  6. If he´d spent money when PLG arrived then things may have been different.

It was obvious that the team neede investment.

Big portion of the blame goes to DM

Would it? 1.8mil on Sebo was hardly a wise use of cash.

  7. Naive of me to believe that PLG didnt leave because Boyd was backing Fergie?

It was known before he came to the club that he was a pretty strict guy, and he showed that very soon after he joined by making an example of Ricksen.

He again showed it by dropping Fergie.

Of course that played a part in him leaving, but IMO all these fans outside the team bus after that game shouting at him to go home would have been the more evident part.

Im not having a go at PLG, i never wanted to see him go and the team let him down badly with their performances and some of their attitudes. But at the same time, you cant overlook the fact that he just wasnt getting the results for us and that, over any manager or player, is the most crucial for me.

Sorry my last post was vague. I was agreeing with you and saying ackbar was being naive.

  8. The vast majority of fans at Ibrox on matchdays must be embarrassments as well then because I've heard people shout insulting names at players when they give the ball away. I'm pretty sure you've done it yourself as well.

The embarrassment lies with those who go on camera, email programmes, phone phone ins having a go at Rangers in public. The guy outside Fir Park on Sunday with the white tracksuit top on is the real embarrassment. Timmy would've been laughing their wee dirty cotton socks off watching him go on.

At the end of the day it's my opinion. Everyone is entitled to them!

I don't know about the vast majority, but yes I think fans who abuse individual players at the games are an embarassment. I don't understand what positive outcome these fans hope to achieve by repeatedly abusing the players.

And yes the majority of numptees who get their views aired by the media are and embarassment. But that is why the media choose to air their views.

Still don't agree with petty name-calling of a Rangers player though.

  9. I sincerely hope we can move Buffel on for some reasonable money.

Inconsistent, lightweight and no heart despite his obvious talents. Not for me anymore.

Exactly how I feel about it.

Sure we will be able to pick up some kind of fee because despite being a shitebag, he does have qualities that will attract some potential European buyers.

  10.

Sionko/Sebo - I don't rate either of them, but we're stuck with them. Sebo if he got a prolonged run in the team might(Might) come good.

Problem with this though is that we don't have the time to continually pick him until it came good.

  11. best news for all the Ferguson lovers maybe!!

ned rule takes over at Ibrox

Mate if you are going to suggest that everyone who differs in opinion on this to you is a ned then I have absolutely no respect for anything you post. Very childish.

  12. yes mate, true.

somebody on FF had the details yesterday

I´ll try and get the numbers.

FF is in meltdown and I can´t get after them at the moment but I assure you that it´s true.

    No bother. Cheers

  13. I hope Fergie is next out the door. What the fuck gives him the right to think he's special? PRick!

I think you are an embarassment of a "fan".

I said far less about Le Guen and was jumped on from all angles.

To call a current player (and I wouldn't be suprised to hear him re-instated as captain tbh), our best current player in fact, a prick, is nothing short of disgraceful. What happened to wait to hear the full story? Or do you only stick to that when things were going "your way"?

  14. a pity he never received the sort of backing previous managers got..

after the first few games of the season people were raving about the quality of football we were playing it was just a lack of goals...

when you deal in the bottom end of the transfer market we will always be 2nd...3rd ..maybe even 4th best in this league

I wish him well in the future,he came he tried to change the Scottish mentality in the dressing room,he introduced a lot more young players to the team as well.

He gave it his best shot...we will never know if he would have been a success.

Surely that is a joke?

  15. Can't agree more with you mate. I wonder if Fergie will stroll back into the team on Sunday?!?!?!

Stroll back into the team? Its not like he'd been out injured or dropped for playing badly.

He's been our b est performer recently and we'll have a new manager who I imagine will pick the best players available.

When you thought Barry was going you were happier. What happened to Rangers are bigger than 1 man? That means bigger than PLG too. Back the team and whoever is in it. And if that includes Barry (which it should) back him too.
