  1. I can never understand that website , also says were a danish team :sigh:

No there's a danish team called Randers or something similar. You must be looking ta the wrong bit. In the first round proper we're about 15th out of the seeded sides, assuming all the "bigger" teams go through the Uefa and CL qualifiers.

  2. Now if you can show me why he's been so poor (so far you haven't) then I might concede a bit of ground. The criticism he's received just for the odd misplaced pass is not merited and I think as a support, we'd be better served backing him instead of waiting on his next error just to say 'I told you so'!

Its exactly as I called it Frankie. He has assumed Mo Ross' mantle. The boy is pretty much fecked as a Ger now because as Danny admits he anticipates Hutton will fuck up even before he's got the ball and the feeling will eminate through the ground and is something Hutton will be aware of. Its a shame he is never going to get the opportunity to try and regain his previous form.

  3. Vey sensible allowing ST in for free, and 7 quid would be worth a trip along.

When teh friendly was announced, even as a ST holder I said to my mate I would happily pay around £7 to go, but would prob be more like £15. Funny how its worked out.

I guess from that it will be a reserve side with any first teamers needing match sharpness thrown in. Still though a free game to see the Gers.

  4. Absolutely no way would i go with 1 midfielder with Buffel and 2 wingers. I ripped AM to bits for his tactics and this would be going down the same route despite the personal being natural for positions.

Aye, I'm a bit mystified this idea has been suggested twice this week. Its ridiculous to play one man in the middle of the park v Hearts. You need to be in charge of the midfield to control the game.

  5. The club thinking about the fans for once?

FORMER Rangers boss Dick Advocaat will be back at Ibrox on Wednesday August 23 when his Zenit St Petersburg side face the Light Blues and Season Ticket Holders can take in this friendly game for FREE!

The Dutchman, who secured five trophies during his successful tenure as Rangers manager and has just signed Fernando Ricksen on a one-year loan deal, will occupy the away dugout for the first time and, as a reward for their ongoing support and commitment, all Season Ticket Holders will take in the action free of charge.

The Club is also offering hugely discounted public sale tickets with Adults at just £7 and Concessions available at only £3 so bring the family along for what is sure to be a cracking contest.

Paul Le Guen will undoubtedly give the majority of his first-team squad a run out against the Russians and recent recruits Lee Martin and Filip Sebo will be out to impress the Rangers faithful.

Cheer on your heroes at Ibrox on Wednesday August 23 (kick off 7.45pm) when Le Gaffer locks horns with The Little General!

  6. IMO he was right to start with the same line up as nobody had had a bad game.

Now he can be merited in making a change against Hearts

Disagree. Before anyone starts i'm not jumping on anyone's back or anything like that. This is just an observation of one performance. Prso obviously looked tired v DU, and played this weekend's game in exactly the same manner. Surely this must have been apparent to Le Guen in training and I am baffled why he wasn't given a rest and Boyd tried upfront from the start.

  7. I'd argue that Hutton has been our best defender in the last 2 games...

Unfortunatley appears too late for him already, he's set for the Mo Ross treatment.

As you say far more experienced players have been worse than him recently yet he's always one of the first to get it in the neck. Very sad.

  8. We have to improve for the visit of Hearts and I've no doubts we will.

Why exactly? I understand and agree with what has been said above, but when we're creating 2,3 or even 4 times as many goalscoring opportunities and not beating 2 of the poorest teams in the league, why are you so confident that in the very next game we'll beat one of the better sides in the league? Against whom we'll mayb create only a couple more or as many goalscoring chances against.

I'm not saying we can't win, just that I think it will be a very nervous 90 minutes and that comes from what we've managed so far this season.

Pretty foootball is all well and good but it counts for nought if we cant beat some of the poorest sides in our league.

  9. Got a good one for when we visit the Tims - to the tune of Yellow Submarine ;

    'We all went to a non-sectarian school, a non-sectarian school, a non-sectarian school'......

    Cammy F

Thats class. Never got a ticket for the piggery so I'll tell as many bears as possible who I know are going.

  10. I'd also like us to qualify from the UEFA Cup group stages on the European front.

Frankly it was an embarassment when we didn't acheive this last time. Only needing 1 pt from 2 games in a very weak group. To be fair all groups in the UEFA cup we should qualify from as it is 3 from 5. Will be absolutely gutted if we can't acheive this.

  11. Mate, Fan Fan is a tremendous player .

    Plenty of strength & Speed.

He's got the ablitiy to pass a good ball forward.

I feel he should be given a run out in the first squad.

Well the most recent game I saw him play was v Sundowns, and he was woeful. Constantly caught out of poosition. Whether he used to play well in France is irrelevant to me, he's never shown he's worth a place at Rangers.

  12. Yep, barring injuries it will be the same team next week IMO.

No-one deserves to be dropped but the only possible change PLG might make is to drop Adam, play Prso wide left and go with Boyd as the lone striker. That will possibly be the long term solution but I can't see PLG changing it for next week.

    My thoughts exactly mate.

Adam performed well, but bringing in Boyd strengthens the team. Harsh, but for the good of the team. He may well keep it the same for now though.

  13. Let's just hope that Le Guen is this magician that we all hope he is and get this group of players who were gutless in the exteme last season playing decent football becuase without Murray and Bain's help, its looking like its going to be one hell of a job.

Even the "inept" manager that is AM managed that exact feat with Advocaat's team. Getting a squad of players who were underacheiving to play to their potential. The quality of the squad then and now may be different but the point remains the same. Sometimes all taht is needed is a freshness, a new challenge, a change of manager to get more from a player.

  14. Yep, I think Rae has a chance of making the starting line-up

I'm not sure. I'd prefer Rae in there, but PLG might look at it as leaving us a bit light in front of the back 4. I've read a lot recently of his preference for a 4-2-3-1 with the 2 being sitting midfielders as the 3 support the attack. I think Hemdani would be more disciplined sitting in that role and Rae is more likely to o forward so maybe Le Guen will leave Hemdani in there.

  15. Was it being sung during the Boro game or something?

I never heard anything on that so far. Good that he is coming out and saying that though. Its not about taking a stand, UEFA are gonna throw the book at us if it continues.

The Billy boys was sung quite vociferously in the Broomloan front v Boro. It felt weird not joining in, not because I necessarily believe in the words but because it is possibly the best song to get the atmosphere going at the stadium. Now if we could get the fans singing Rangers boys and something like Celtic blood (would this be acceptable to our detractors?) it would create the same atmosphere an noone could complain.

  16. Capucho scored a few goals and occasionally looked mediocre. Ostenstad scored twice (Albeit against Alloa - still, a goal is a goal).

Bernard gave absolutely nothing except grief and is the worst player I've seen at Ibrox in my lifetime.

Agreed. I honestly beleive he is the worst signing we've made in a very long time. If we hadn't got him in we would have seen Stevie Smith from earlier in the season, and the young leftback was one of the few positives of last season for me. One of thebrightest prospects to break ino the first team.

So not only was Bernard an awful player but he was an unnecessary signing. We now have 3 players in the first team squad who play left back and Le Guen is struggling for funds to bring in new guys.

C'mon the blades hurry up and do us a favour.
