  1. I see they've installed fences around the entire perimeter of the piggery. Bless.
  2. Aye, agreed, looks dreadful, further devaluing the big European nights.
  3. Indeed, McCann is the polar opposite of their usual. Bonner is a bloody embarrassment, has no idea who is playing for the opposition to Celtc, unless they are ex pot lickers. 'The Motherwell number 7' is about all he can muster.
  4. Christ, I never knew that! I went to school with a guy who supported us during the 9 and the Advocaat years, then he turned uber tim, I don't see him very often thankfully, but a wee smile and a nod usually does the trick.
  5. As was rightly said on the weekly blog after horsing the Dons, we need to keep the foot on their neck. We play another league game when they play the cup final, we beat Motherwell , and we could potentially be 17 points clear. If TLB is still in charge then, he'll be throwing the players into the fires of Mordor again, and Declan will be in the car park. They keep going on about us faltering, when they know fine well they are more likely to stutter. They are shiteing themselves, and quite rightly so. Bring it on.
  6. My bad, poorly worded. The headgear like they use in rugby is to stop cuts from surface impact of bone on bone, same in boxing, to stop cuts from gloves on bone. These would have no benefit in football as the baw doesn't have any of those risks. It's a different ballgame in motor cycles, they are designed to stop head trauma from a one off event, not repeated blows.
  7. Headgear would make no difference, hence why it's never been adopted above amateur level in boxing, it's all about the force not the impact, as the force causes the brain trauma ie. shaking inside the skull. And the arguments about the older heavier ball are moot too, as the force of a modern ball is the same in reality - Force=Mass x Acceleration - aye newer balls are much lighter, but they're coming at you a hell of a lot quicker.
  8. I can't see tackling coming under scrutiny*, as it's obviously not contributing to premature Neurological decay in later life, like heading does. * Though it'll be interesting to see where they go with this in Rugby.
  9. I like Levein, reminds me of Jim McLean, not a manager I'd want at Rangers, but speaks his own mind, not what he thinks people want to hear/career advancement nonsense. They were spunking off about Ross McCrorie a few weeks back and how we should have kept him. Levein squarely told them that was rubbish, he'd been allowed to leave Ibrox because he simply wasn't good enough for Rangers, and being good enough for Aberdeen was something completely different. Certainly took the wind from Dick's sails.
  10. I'm locking the dug away as we speak.
  11. God he's dense. Can't pronounce his players names properly, and 'Odsonne's done a bit of cardiac'......
  12. Aye, same thoughts here, they did nothing. They'd be better with Jim Duffy at centre half as well, that big lump is horrendous. Anyway, back to our game, I have to agree with Gonzo, I love Roofe already, I think we have a helluva player on our hands who just needed a bit of management, which in Stevie G we certainly have. He looks like he has everything, talent, pace, power, aerial ability, can finish and fuck me what heart he showed at that goal. What a performance, I don't think we looked in bother at any point, what a difference confidence makes in europe, we've learned to play at that level, how to manage games and see them out. Were it not for the odd lapse in final ball or poor decision, we could have had 4 or 5 last night, but that's just greedy. ? And big Bassey, bloody hell what a game he had.
  13. His Leeds reel on Youtube (aye, I know!) is impressive, looks a very good finisher.
  14. I think this is for the best, as long as we get decent money. I do wonder sometimes if Alfies form in the first half of the season was his potential, or just a hot streak, suppose we'll find out when he eventually goes to a big league, which isn't France tbh.
  15. As much as Jose is a figure of fun, he's spot on, if City have done nothing wrong, why have they been fined 10 million? they are either guilty or not, 10 million is a pittance to them, utterly pointless. Man U debt is the owners debt, and is more of a slight on the right and proper person rules than FFP tbh.
  16. I for one have no interest in joining the English set up, a league based entirely on money (from dodgy sources), a freak show where clubs become playthings for the rich and completely lose their identity. The only thing that stirs the fans up is the transfer window, no one gives a fuck about the FA cup, Europe or the national side. Scottish football is a joke, but I'd rather we were here.
  17. I was just thinking this week what I'd give to have Tugay in our current team.
  18. It's a good thing if they're playing for a decent team in the premiership, but actively seeking out championship level players (as wee chesney loved to do) is utter horseshit.
  19. Superb, a far better player than he gets credit for, well done Ryan.
  20. Fantastic piece sir. Bonner is the worst pundit I have ever had the misfortune of hearing. Only ever covers sellik games, hasn't a clue who plays for the opposition - 'the motherwell number 7', 'the livvy centre back' - and his match analysis is baffling. 'That was Cluj first chance of the match' was a particularly memorable one. it was 1-1 at the time. And to top it off, we pay his wages.
