  1. I think you might find it puts money into SD and Puma pockets whether you buy them or you don't, but the worrying thing is we can be taken to court by Puma and probably Red32 for failing to meet our obligations....don't be naïve to think we can dent Ashley's pockets in any way shape or form, but we are already untouchable to investors, sponsors, kit makers and just about anyone else with what we really need ... hard cash, so please think about it and ask what you want from our club ...me, I want us in a position to attract sponsors and investors...but who would go near us with a barge pole in our current state?? GSTQ
  2. Frankie... do you honestly believe what comes out of the club? Didn't the Lescott affair teach you to trust what they say with trepidation and don't be surprised if its just the usual hype, spin and bluster GSTQ
  3. Or if you don't to their line and actually question thing ...you are branded a 'timposter' and banned also, that why we are in such a fractured state, if you don't bow down and join in your black balled, sad pathetic lot, but they are simply following the lead of those running the club GSTQ
  4. http://stv.tv/sport/football/1367209-joey-barton-s-rangers-future-in-doubt-after-training-ground-row/ Joey Barton's Rangers future in doubt after training ground row Joey Barton's Rangers future is in doubt after the midfielder was told to stay away from the club's training complex following a bust up with Andy Halliday this week.* STV understands*the incident took place on Tuesday, which resulted in the midfielder -*who was Rangers' most high profile summer recruit - being banished from the training ground until further notice.* It is understood this is not the first time the 33-year-old has caused unrest within the dressing room. The experienced midfielder will not feature in Saturday's Premiership clash with Ross County. Rangers are making no official comment on the matter.
  5. I'm not standing up for anyone or anything that happened in the past... but unless we get investment we are in a very sorry state...that's not scaremongering that's true. We are Rangers... and we are scraping the bottom of a very deep barrel...that's certainly not how many of us envisaged it would be, the world of football revolves around money....and until we have access to some of it ... we are going to struggle GSTQ
  6. I think today should be looked at as a reality check and a wake up call for those who believe we are anywhere near good enough to compete with them...we aint and we are a long way short. Its not that they are good, they are quite average for a team who have dominated for the past few years, but we are absolutely way off the level we need to be. You get what you pay for and that reflects exactly how we have strengthened over the summer. If anyone thinks Kranjcar and Senderos are the quality of player we need to sign to compete... you watch a different game from me....both freebies and it shows. Windas looked good when given the ball and the chance to run at them ....but that only happened a couple of times, it was a very poor performance with only fleeting glimpses of anything... our midfield was over run at times and that defence is an absolute disaster waiting to happen and can give a goal away at the blink of an eye. I can't fault them, they are for the most part, out of their depth in that environment and playing against a pretty strong but average team. The manager has been working with a budget of jack shit and when you have jack shit you end up with jack shit. This was the first team in the top half of the league we have played so far, so if I am worried, very worried about how things are going to pan out this season. Top 5 is my expectation and if they can get 3rd that will be a major boost. I have been consistent in a few things the past few years and one of them has been to question the lack of investment being made at the club. We have NO investment coming in, we have no routes of finance or finance streams, thanks to who our chairman is, we can not attract a single external investor, can not float on the stock market and we have no chance of doing so until there are changes.... so this I am afraid is as good as it gets until there are changes at the top. Just being there today is an achievement and a great achievement, considering where we were and where we have come from....but the next step must be taken ...and you cant build teams and clubs on false promises and crumbs....this is your wake up call guys....do not let it go unnoticed or in challenged....remember what happened when we didn't change things in the past? GSTQ
  7. I wholly agree with you there, we are never equipped to win this League and people should step back, take an honest hard look and reappraise their expectations for the season. We have a divine right to expect everyone is pulling their weight and working tireless to make the next jump, but no divine right to beat any team in this league. Our ambition this season should be top 5 and anything more, is a big bonus. Fans have to be realistic and honest and question things if they feel we are struggling and continue to struggle if our signing and spending policy is one akin to a team with no cash and no backing to go change things. While I never advocate spend spend spend, I do believe in spending on some quality and attracting players with real pedigree, even slightly ageing, as long as its the quality we need to kick on. I ask one question and I am pretty sure there will be the usual tirade of abuse, but like any other concerned fan, I need to know. What exactly is Dave King's player budget? To date, it looks pretty thin on the ground, and with nothing but fluffy statements, with no facts and figures, its all conjecture. We need to know what he is actually going to spend and why there is no other investment coming into the club....anyone care to have a stab at that one? I have my own opinions, but as in any other league you get what you pay for and investment must be found....our 'friends across the city' have a nice benefactor called UEFA who will give them £20m+ to ensure they are able to stay ahead....irrespective of what people say....actions speak louder than words and I see a damn sight more words than actions going on down Edmiston Drive way GSTQ
  8. After a scintillating two leg win, with dodgy goals, missed penalties and the usual shit-storm kicked up by certain ...fans...against the mighty Hapoel be er Sheva their race is already run, and sadly they have won what they set out to achieve...North of £20m for beating less than average opposition... but hey... they will be getting a few more chances to disgrace Scottish football along the way, but the Treasurer will be walking about like a 'dog with 'twa co*is' and tv exposure they really do not merit. GSTQ
  9. I think we should look at who they have had to defend against so far before lauding too much praise, the whole back 4 are a disaster waiting to happen it looks like at times. Not saying Tav hasn't pulled his socks up a bit from last season, but lets wait and see how well he plays against the teams who will be at the sharp end of the league...as of yet untested this season. We have conceded way too many goals to think we have a 'good' defence ...... when we start winning by a goal to nil or two then we can start looking but conceding goals against Hamilton, Dundee and Motherwell isn't exactly a solid start for our defence. Hopefully a nice clean sheet against Killie this week will settle not just their nerves, but ours too, and we will see a more solid foundation to build on. GSTQ
