  1. From today's Guardian  in relation to the Notts Forest complains, it appears in England, referees must declare any allegiance to a club.

At the moment officials have to declare their club allegiances and any others they have links to. This means they cannot officiate on the teams they support nor direct geographical or historical rivals to avoid a conflict of interest. Notts Forest want to add to this allegiances to account for contextual rivalries in the league table, not just local rivalries.

I was not aware of this requirement on referees. If the rule were to be extended from supported club and rivalries to include clubs battling for relegation/european spots, it's a wonder they could get any referees to officiate, or maybe referees in England are devoid of any affiliations to premiership teams.

Imaging if such a rule were to apply in Scotland.......

  2. With all these biblical scholars on Gersnet, I'm surprised that nobody has given the definite quote, of which no one may question:

Never fear, inevitably we shall have our years of failure, and when they arrive, we must reveal tolerance and sanity. No matter the days of anxiety that come our way, we shall emerge stronger because of the trials to be overcome. That has been the philosophy of the Rangers since the days of the gallant pioneers.

  3. OK. We've had nearly 24 hours for reflection. Time to throw off the sack cloth and look ahead to better times. As the good book tells us:

    We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair;

I'm more concerned about his lack of end product than his stroppiness.

Our team could do with being a bit more stroppy!

    Intae these gimps, Rangers!  🇬🇧

Clement talks of the collective and how all players, whether playing or not must be as one. It's not about individual performance but the team performance is what matters.  Coming to think of it maybe Silva was annoyed at the team performance rather than him be subbed. I'll give him one more chance.

Whilst I hope for a great performance and a decent victory, I'd snap your hand off for a 1-0 win right now.

Such low ambition. Anything less than 5 will be frowned upon.

Are the number of "we've blown it" posts on this thread an attempt at reverse juju?

    Pros and cons with this.

Gives some injured players more time to get fit.

Shame for the fans who were on there way. Again the question of late call offs is raised and the poor treatment of fans.

That aside, I think the pros outweigh the cons. We've 2 weeks until our next game to get some players back and for manager to work with team in training. The way things are poised, game against Celtic give us the chance to go back on top, with game in hand.

I will actually be quietly pleased if this is cancelled as it will give us more time to get players back fit and also if this goes ahead today the pitch looks likely to be a leveller making it more difficult to play our normal game.

Agreed. If the Masons can't get this called off, I will begin to doubt their efficacy.

I'd hope that our board respond and similarly cut Hibs allocation...maybe a wee trip to the club deck for their chosen few is called for....given the vandalism at Ibrox and their equally offensive chants both at the weekend and at Ibrox.

A trip to the Club Deck would be like rewarding them. Let the Club Deck remain for the chosen.
