  1. He may be a good commercial professional, but he sure is not a diplomat.
  2. Not criticism, but he does get a bit techy doesn't he?
  3. It was a hard watch, not that we were under much threat but you always feared that the defence would do something daft and let them in. I'm sure Gio will feel vindicated in his team selection and lack of substitutes. There was no need to chase the game, so why disrupt what they had. Luckily we got an early goal and then our plan seemed to be - contain their play and if we get another goal, all well and good. If not, stopping them score will be enough. I thought Morelos was the only one who had some spark. Often he was isolated but when he had others team mates around him, he was laying the ball off well. The pitch was dreadful. Never seen so many headed balls in midfield.
  4. Some nice lay offs from Morelos, but I think he may have to take control himself if we are to score again.
  5. If the Rangers Board wanted to take the nuclear option they would say that in the light of the recent court decision and the wishes of the Celtic CSA victims/survivors, they were withdrawing from this friendly. Imagine the reaction!
  6. Sakala, if just for his goal celebration😊
  7. I thought it was foolish of Ange talking of winning the Conference League before they had even played a game in it. After all, while Celtic dropped down from the bigger boys league, so did another 7 teams, so why they thought they were better than everyone else defies logic. Ange has been around enough to know you don't make daft predictions like that because it's likely that it will come back to bite you. Ange is not daft but maybe it's expected from the fans that they bum themselves up and Ange has gone along with this. As an aside, I see that of the teams dropping into the Conference play off, only 3 of them won the tie, so maybe Celtic were not alone in underestimating the opposition. In the Europa League, Rangers were 1 of 3 who defeated Champions League drop outs.
  8. It seems that the SPFL clubs will pay (estimated at around £100,000 a year) but all 42 clubs will vote, presumably on the belief that as any of the non SPFL clubs may at some time reach the SPFL, they would then have to contribute. This could be a hefty sum for teams being promoted to the SPFL It seems to me that it should be the SPFL as a body who pay for VAR. The amount (around £1m a year) would have to be deducted from the payment made to clubs.
  9. Let's hope they are now concentrating on the league and don't want to be distracted by a European competition they did not want to be in.😊
  10. I think the reason VAR seems to work so well in European games is that the referees are better. They therefore do not miss so many incidents and VAR is used rarely. Should VAR come to Scotland, a big problem is the lack of good referees. On a match day when all teams are playing, are there the numbers for the VAR studio. Also, as our referees are not good enough, the dangers is that they will make fewer decisions, relying on VAR to make the decision for them, which in turn will lead to lots of stoppages. Having said all that, I'm sure VAR will come and it will be interesting to see how it is operated.
  11. Kent for me. Never gives up and helps others. I just wish more play had gone through him as I felt he was the player that Dundee U did not know how to handle (apart from yanking him back).
  12. Bassey, Jack, Kent, Morelos. Take your pick. My vote goes to Kent for his harrying, defending when needed and most of all his skill in the lead up to the third goal.
