  1. Fines for that kind of thing aren’t enough. If it’s deliberate and intended to spoil the game they should simply book the nearest home player. Stamp it out overnight.
  2. ....and movement. Let’s not forget that we are building from nothing. The scum have good movement because they’ve been together for years. Barca players have played together since they were about 10 years old. We’ve cobbled together a team in 6 months with mixed success of loan players and they’ve performed well at times. The last month it has dried up and a lot of that is to do with chopping and changing for whatever reasons. This is of course an argument for having a good youth set up. SG will know that. In the short term to win this league we’re going to have to scrap and fight our way over the line and use what ever tactics suit on the day whilst also try and develop a style of play. Not easy.
  3. Everything costs money. Ejaria and Kent played as big a role as any in the EL campaign. Even Worral did a turn. We’d all prefer our own players but look how much it costs when it doesn’t work out. We’ve squandered many millions on duff signings and pay offs. It needs to be the right loanee and by and large we have not done that well enough.
  4. Loan deals are essential given the financial problems and Pedro crashing £10m and warburton before him. But kids out of an academy irrespective of the size of club handling Scottish cloggers who are fit and more suited to a life in the Royal Marines isn’t a good solution. I think we need to get more mature and more physical players if they are loans. The success rate is poor but it can work if the selection is better and we do still need them. Too often it seems an experiment by the lender to see how good their kids are and more often than not they find out at our expense. ejaria had a very good start to the season btw but it seems he’s been found out mentally and may regret his decision. By and large he did well for us and played a major role in qualifying us for EL. To say he was a complete failure is not correct.
  5. Funny how folk see the same game differently. My abiding memory is him not putting airfield through on a one on one. Put it another way 21 corners another 15 crosses and he’s nowhere apart from one header. They didn’t all hit the first man. I saw him not reacting to possible chances in the box by not getting between defenders and the goal for example. If we want goals he has to do a lot more imo because he could have got a few today given the possession.
  6. Disappointing performance. To answer the question about what lafferty needs to do to score he needs to improve his movement massively in the box. He’s like a telegraph pole. I as watching him closely today and he was very poor. Not getting any quality in crossing or final pass but even with better quality there he isn’t the answer. Compare him to Naismith.
  7. Lafferty is starting to look like Boyd without the goals. Static in the box and nothing outside it.
  8. Amazing and I hope we go through because that’s incredible support and deserves more reward.
  9. And if someone like Morelos scores the winning goal add a couple of million to his value.
  10. Passing along the back is ok if at pace and you vary with balls between the lines and you have constant movement in midfield. We are pedestrian with no movement in the more central areas and players getting in each other’s way on the flanks. Lack of balance and quality. Need another refresh in January but have to remember we were getting it right a couple of months ago. I suspect we need to sell and offload tho.
  11. I haven’t kept track of Bates but we should have kept him. There was something to work with. To think the money we got for him was spent on a season of Worral is galling. The CB situation is straight forward for me. Worral out. Goodson and Katic and McAuley stand in.
  12. How do you beat 10 men who sit in and are largely inferior players? Simple you move the ball quickly and accurately, you create width for good quality crosses and you exploit gaps by maintaining that width and attack gaps with quality forward movement. You fire in a few shots to draw defenders out. You overrun weak points but fundamentally you can’t win a game of football if you can’t pass, control or shoot. Whether it’s indivuduals or the team formation the evidence is this group playing in this formation are simply not good enough as they can’t do the basics. The lack of experience is an issue and hardly any of our players have won a senior trophy at a big club. The fact we have Tav as captain is symptomatic of where we are as a team. Poor decisions, lack of consistency and a lack of genuine quality. Arguably we have 4 players who would walk into this team in Murphy, Dorrans, arfield and Morelos but what is clear is the lack of quality and experience deeper in the squad. Worral should not be getting a game over Katic, we only need one holding player in games like this and that should be Jack , having too many players who just seem to get in each other’s way on the flanks is an issue, and clearly we cannot rely on lafferty as anything other than a substitute. The centre halves were atrocious at the first goal. The constant change in this area is damaging us. At least Katic is a goal threat and as someone said earlier we’d have been as well getting one of our centre halves playing as a centre forward as continue playing the way we were. We weren’t going to score. It was obvious with 25 minutes to go. Paralysis in the dugout and on the pitch is part of the problem. Im coming to the conclusion the next phase is ship Tav and Morelos (reluctantly) in the summer to create a £15m war-chest. If we’re going to bring in loans they have to be far better than to date. Kent gets pass marks for me but the rest are now showing why they got loaned to us in the first place. Ejaria is a good player but he’s started to bottle it, coulibally is limited in forward quality, and Worral should have his ambition fulfilled and get on the next train back to Nottingham. Some of these players look as if they are counting down the days. Over to you Stevie G but ruthlessness is required now.
  13. Too slow and it started at the back particularly with the centre halves. . No cutting edge on the flanks or in the centre. Morelos was guaranteed a red as his attitude was back to the bad old days. Grezda and Candeias were tripping over each other, flanno adds nothing and coulibally looks as if his game has gone. Ejaria not attacking enough, stupid goal to concede with hint of Fir Park about it, Tav going round in circles, Middleton not brave enough. No pass marks for any of them. Mugged again by a pysh team. Manager is also rotating too much. On the positives we are relatively unscathed in the league table and this must be a wake up call. Every player in that team tonight has to take the blame personally and do something about it. Those not selected must push these harder.
  14. Excellent idea in principle. But need to to use social media in conjunction. For example bombard charities or organisations dealing with media exclusion particularly the elderly with images of the adverts next to their HQ. Also Ofcom, MPs sites etc, independent media. This would perhaps be more effective and sustainable than putting adverts in too many different locations. Putting hard data in the adverts such as the stuff you collected 26th would be ideal. I’m still going to do my FOI request at the end of the EL group stages (or beyond if us and them still in the competition).
  15. A lot of noise coming out of Parkhead at the moment. Can’t think why. The suggestion Rangers selling tickets to our own fans is responsible for their crowd safety issues is truly laughable. I was in that passageway 20 odd years ago for a Scotland v Latvia WC game and it was chaotic. They also have exactly the same arrangements now that they have for other matches. They are trying to keep control of Scottish football against the only credible threat and using every means possible. They are trying to divert attention from their own sordid affairs. A desperate club with no concept of sporting or moral integrity. A club stuck in an old fashioned catholic tradition of cover up and silence. Catholicism has many virtues in a modern context but Celtic and their cult adherents do not understand that the days of silence and loyalty to merely protect a football club are over. Some ‘journalists’ (no laughing at the back) find it abhorrent that Rangers fans comment on such matters. Well I find it even more abhorrent that people with power and education and the ability to express themselves don’t.
  16. Over a 1000 posts and lots about how stupid everyone else is from you, but not any suggestion from you about what to do. 26th is providing a great service in recording the issue whereas you are an empty vessel friend. You just don’t get that some folk are dependent on the BBC and others want their vfm for their licence fee. We heard you first time (ages ago) and we get your point.
  17. Re SD. 1. Hummel and Rangers contract and licence to make kit no prob 2. Hummel and Elite/JD or any other have a contract no prob 3. Rangers can’t endorse but can’t stop Hummel & Elite or any other no prob. 4. Rangers must have contract as judge states with SD no prob (other than SD will be unable to sell). 5. Hummel pay Rangers a sales bonus based on shirts THEIR distributors have sold. Solved.
  18. Great blog. That’s dedication btw!
  19. Thank goodness for that! We can all take your criticisms and downright offensiveness towards fellow Bears with a pinch of salt. For the record, you do not represent Glasgow Rangers and our fans. Lots share your views but lots don’t.
  20. McCoist falling out a window in the mad men pysh was done by juniors (as they were at that time). They were told at a much higher level they shouldn’t do it but they still did. You don’t give up plumb jobs in the BBC in Scotland easily. They are almost certainly still there. This was no mistake. We pay their wages.
  21. There is clearly a hard core element in the SNP who hate Rangers and before they were SNP they were probably labour. I’d call them out for their hatred of Rangers affecting and defining their role in public office, double standards when it comes to bigotry and their abuse of power. There are labour, SNP, and Tories who don’t give 2 hoots about Rangers or football. There are Aberdonian unionist Tories or Dundonian labourites who are unionists who hate Rangers as much as Dornan and his Glasgow SNP chums. They refer to our club as zombies, dead, Sevco etc. Are what you guys saying is if push came to shove you’d stand shoulder to shoulder with them or a Celtic supporter against a Rangers supporting nationalist or perhaps you think they are as bad as each other? If so I genuinely can’t get my head round that & how that would make you a better Rangers fan than the nationalist.
  22. You were desperate to put that first sentence in no matter what anyone said. It was transparent from the off ?. Noones having a go at you Bill. It’s not too important and it’s not about you really. No one cares what most people think about their politics.
  23. I’ve had it up to here with just about everyone’s sheer hatred of the club.
  24. Not every Rangers fan sees their support for the club in political terms. It’s not that complicated so no need to second guess the levels of indignation and denial. I’m not sure most would bother too much what you think about their politics. They may prefer to talk Rangers if you can stomach their company (with all due respect).
  25. Offer them 20k tickets which was more than generous based on previous semis and their home attendances, bend over backwards to move the KO time for them as so as they can make the ‘arduous’ 3 hour journey, and still they only sell a third of what they originally thought was their natural entitlement. Their players should be grateful to Rangers fans that they occasionally get to play in front of a proper crowd.
