I had one and it came back as 'unclear'. Suggested I take another one. So what does that mean?

Think it probably just demonstrates my point,  there really is little point in taking the test unless you are symptomatic.

I know this because I looked into this myself (long story, but I was looking to reduce my own self isolation period after coming home from offshore) any my companies occupational health dept and company doctor told me not to bother and it could actually be very dangerous, as false negatives are common in asymptomatic cases. The Scottish assembly's own advice corroborated this.

Unless you have symptoms I wouldn't waste your time getting retested unless you have a specific reason.

I was speaking to two blokes who have partners working at the Royal Infirmary and they told me the tests are a load of garbage - totally unreliable and if you test positive, just take another test and you'll be negative.

Thankfully, they had masks and gloves on, were fully sanitised and we all remained 2m apart (aye right ?).

Tests are reliable,  if you have covid 19 and are symptomatic.

Anything else,  yup, waste of time and expense.

I've always believed that one of the defining characteristics of Celtic and its adherents is an ability to create fact out of fiction. Their willingness to believe what is clearly fiction and turn it into established truth would make a blind alchemist blush. If someone says they've sold 50,000 season tickets then the expediency of wanting it to be true will immediately make it "true". The Celtic world is a world of entirely flexible reality, where 50,000 season tickets is whatever you want it to be.

That match at Loftus Road: you sure it wasn't 1969 when we drew 3-3? I remember it well because it was Slim Jim's 'comeback' match.

Yes, I would say so, here's 26s programme from the day, suspect he tasked the downstairs maid with recording the score on the front, in anticipation of the Veuve Clicquot befuddling his recollections.

Was he there to keep a watchful eye on the picnic hamper 26th? Foie Gras washed down with a nice glass of Chablis at half time?

I was very surprised his butler was assigned such duties, in my experience contact with the constabulary was always a footmans responsibility.

I agreed with you but we are wrong and 26th is right. Thirty one matches, an annual event in the 1890s/1900s.

Thanks for that, tbh I I didn't really doubt 26, my assumptions are more often wrong than right, more worrying for me is that ive recently been reviewing fixtures in those seasons but never picked up on an abundance of Everton games.

The English club faced most often by Rangers is Everton.

Reference Chelsea, I attended the first three friendlies, all Rangers victories. The first was a 0-1 win at Stamford Bridge, a thirty yard screamer by Jardine in a '71 testimonial. The second and third games were weeks apart in the mid-eighties, home and away. I suspect they were arranged because both clubs were out of Europe. Rangers won both 3-2, Chelsea's Micky Hazzard was the stand out player in both matches. Interestingly, the game at Ibrox had a twenty minute hiatus because of floodlight failure.

I have also witnessed a dozen friendlies against both Arsenal and Spurs; however, the only game where I saw real bad blood was a match at Loftus Road circa 1968. The game ended 2-2 with punches and kicks being regularly exchanged between players. It culminated with Rodney Marsh booting Kai Johansen in the face. The action in Acton was keen that evening as ten thousand Bears righted perceived wrongs. My old man booked a hotel in Kensington, it was our Butler who reported the violence.

Everton? I'm surprised,  know we have faced Arsenal 27 times so thought they would have topped the list.

  8. Update.

I was wrong when I said we had never played Millwall

    Just stumbled across this

    Millwall Athletic 5, Rangers 1

    1st April 1899

    RGS  Jimmy Oswald

    Att, 7000

The match appears to be part of a wee tour of England,  we beat Liverpool and Southampton either side of the Millwall game.

Gary Holt is a trained professional soldier.

His conditioning was provided by a much under valued area of military endeavour. A product of the Army Catering Corps depot at Aldershot, that flaming urns cap badge and regimental motto, 'we sustain'. They are instructed in producing culinary triumphs such as : Pilchard Pizza, All In Stew, and Turkey Curry; whilst replete in a battle bowler.

Vicious bastards, the lot of them. If you meet one, put two rapid into him, you won't regret it.

In my time, those Army Catering Corps types attached to the Parachute Regiment, all arrived with appropriate nicknames, 'Socks Simpson', 'Boots Hughes', Clattie Shaw', and 'Wullie the Heid'.   Such monikers filled you with confidence in terms of food preparation.

offshore, we had. Mick the Mince, Jimmy Boil and Manky Frankie the Clydeside Poisoner, the only man I ever met who could burn cheese without melting it.

Being serious for a moment I was saddened to read Forlan's Sisters post about his recent health.

There's no doubt @forlanssister has had a very challenging time recently, that said he still hasen't missed a game.

Now I really don't consider myself an enthusiastic conspiracy theorist,  but his health and the seeming unrelated global pandemic seems to have synchronised very conveniently.  Despite his regular posts on here blaming the Chinese for everything covidian, I'm seriously beginning to wonder if the evil genius behind lockdown maybe a lot closer to home.

I am at an age were I just dont understand all this crap so being old does have some advantages o.O

Compo, fear not, nobody understands it, not a soul, not those that are shouting loudest about gender identity rights nor those who oppose the concept. It's completely impossible to comprehend and thus futile for society to attempt to accommodate.

Would anyone be complaining about the stars if we were closing in on 60 titles?

Yes, I would, stars lost relevance a long time ago, they started as a representation of 10 titles, then as a Euro honour and finally reached their nadir when killie bestarred themselves to celebrate 50 years since they won something or other.

Our scroll crest requires no embellishment and the stars should have gone years ago.

Anyhoo, if we're using stars in any manner they should have 6 points not 5.

Having read the 4lads interview with the Castore guy I understand it a bit better now.  I still don’t get why they put 50k on pre-sale if they have 250k kits ready. Make them all available now and get the money in now.

I would have understood if the presale was just for MyGers members, or season ticket holders, but for just a general sale to anybody why restrict it to a certain number?

I think I was probably right in my first guess in that it was just a marketing move and didn’t need to read more into it than that. After being Badly bitten so many times in the last decade, it makes sense to be very wary of every deal. We can’t afford blind faith any more.

I'd say it was more to do with only having a defined number of units deliverable on Aug 1st and also having qty agreement with distributors and retailers leaving only a 50K limited amount for the pre sale.

no retailer is going to set aside shelf space for a half dozen items - minimum orders will be pretty much industry standard and would need to be guaranteed to ensure our product is widely available on the high street.

Also when making agreements with retailers like SD, Greaves etc they will require sales confidence, if we had , for example, pre-sold a quarter of a million, then retailers would have had much less confidence of footfall and sales.

That said in a covidless planet with more consumer confidence, normal factory output and global shipping maybe we would have see a different marketing strategy.

It takes a strange and perverse logic to criticise Castore for not supplying a product that we already know has a planned release date a month down the line? The pre-sale volume of 50,000 shirts has nothing to do with availability. It is a notional quantity that can be pre-ordered, nothing more. No one has been or will be left empty handed.

Where the hell does this level of negativity come from? Are some of us so damaged by previous disappointments that we can no longer see straight. I'd think it was time to pack it all in if it had that sort of effect on me.

Agree, I took the 50K pre order as simply an opportunity for a lot of fans to guarantee delivery of a top. Obviously a lot more will be distributed in August to various retailers and we should welcome the exclusive window (mygers particularly) to remove the hassle of a launch day covidian shopping excursion.
