  1. I'm for a name change under one condition. We don't Change the name every 5 years. It then just gets silly. To us it'll Always be Ibrox. Even the younger generation coming through will have the history explained. There's multipurpose stadia here in OZ that have had about 3 or 4 different names since they were built 10 years ago. As long as that doesn't happen I can live with it.
  2. I'd love to know what is involved in our scouting. Do we have anyone at the South American under 20's championship currently going on? What do we do out in Australasia? Also why is it Belgian,French even Swedish clubs are getting good young African players when we never have any? I'm all for us growing our home grown talent but the Scottish net will only catch a handful.
  3. Also interesting that one of the 3 teams that said 'no' was Newport,a Welsh team. Go figure.
  4. Slightly worrying that the coaching staff have now come to this conclusion on Stella. They had plenty of time to decide on him during his trial.3 weeks is a generous trial time for any professional and he was also involved in bounce games that will have been set up specifically to see if he was good enough. There fore the management were responsible for choosing the team they put Stella in against. They still were obviously impressed enough to give him a deal. Tommy Wilson also was quoted on the website that he was impressed by Stella and thought he could do well. So now we have the manager that has been 'conned' by a player and a reserve coach that has either also been fooled or doesn't agree with the senior manager. Thank god it wasn't a player we paid a fee for. We must learn from these mistakes. Can it really be that hard? As I said,3 weeks is a long trial. That's what?30 training sessions (1 morning and afternoon) plus reserve games. Perhaps it was in the end down to Stellas attitude at not getting in. Guess we'll never know...
  5. Danny Wilson, can't even get a loan move. Stupid stupid boy.
  6. Don't blame Alexander for stalling. He should have a minimum 2 year deal. Keepers go on for longer these days and the loyalty he has shown should be repaid with a good contract.
  7. Haven't seen anything on the BBC yet. Maybe i've missed it???
  8. For me he got us over the line in 2 of the most exciting final days ever. Surely the guy deserves credit for that? Although it's nothing to do with his ability as a manager but I briefly met him at Heathrow Airport. Very humble and nice guy. He also won us a treble or has that been forgotten too?
  9. What's your problem with a drum?? IMO there should be MORE drums.
  10. Loved it, the message is clear, we are getting strong again and the other are in struggle town. Merry Christmas all.
  11. He'll be off for sure at the end of the season. They'll keep him with hope he can bring them the CL. Dropping Casillas is a bold move but honestly, i've seen him at fault for a hell of a lot of goals this season in the CL for Madrid. Going to ground far too early, think he needs a kick up the back side.
  12. German teams on the up I expect at least Dortmund or Bayern to make the semi's. Juve are a class side. They'll show Sellik up for what they really are. Easy enough for Barca. Man U vs Madrid, that's a coin toss but should a peach of a tie.
  13. I hope we boycott the game. This is a chance to hit that arsehole Thompson and his club in the pocket while also standing up for what we believe in. Time for us to walk the walk here. Fuck Utd.
  14. We shouldn't be surprised. It's not the first time clubs in Scotland make profits off our club and won't be the last. Let's hope Longmuir is as good as his word. Rangers fans having to pay over the odds to go to shit grounds is a joke. Hampden I can understand a bit. It is a state of the art stadium. But the Spiders shouldn't be aloud to take the piss nor should anyone else.
  15. Just watching it again and when he is introduced you can see just how GUTTED he is and how much of a plank he knows he will now look to everyone. That is priceless.
  16. Superb work by Chris. I actually got a lot of satisfaction just from seeing that little sewer rat squirm the way he was. His time will come as will the others. But well played by Chris.
  17. A legend and great ambassador for the club. Get well soon Sandy.
  18. How long is Darren Cole out for? Punt Jig back there and Kyle will be given more time. Where is Fran Sandaza? maybe Stella might see some game time? The squad is going to be a bit stretched now.
  19. This is in the correct forum as the subject involves Rangers. Many people would say this Barca team (which has more or less been the same crop for 5 or 6 years) is one of the best ever. BTW Chelsea aren't EPL champs but are European champs so go figure. As for Timmy's tactics, well i wouldn't call them smart but more of a means of forced upon them. It's like even when teams play Spain, they are so good with the ball you can't possibly expect to have a great deal of percentage of possession. C***** were lucky, i said that. I also said Barca weren't top of their game. But you still have to defend well and punish teams when you can. Anyone's anyone knows Barca are pish in the air and they were punished and they also leave themselves open at the back. But C***** obviously broke out with purpose... You also haven't mentioned anything about the facts i've provided about our past results at home compared to theirs. What's your take on that?
  20. Ok i understand this post may annoy a few people on here and it's not that easy for me to write some of these things but it's been going through my head all day so here goes... In light of C***** fantastic result last night, i'm more than a little worried about now and the future. I never watched the game but saw some highlights and yes, they had luck and yes, Barca weren't firing all pistons but C***** won the game. They beat perhaps the best team any of us will ever see. So i started thinking, comparing us and them in the CL. Now the away record is a given. We have a far superior record but what about the home record?? Now this is the part where a few people get pissed off with me, i think C***** just have a much better go at teams on their home ground than we do at Ibrox. When was the last time anyone can remember us having a famous win in the CL at Ibrox?? I haven't looked through past results but lets go from my shoddy memory, i can remember us beating Porto (but maybe the poorest Porto in a while), We DREW with Barca at home, We Smashed PSV, Drew with Bayern and i guess the Parma match could be included. We also drew with Inter to qualify for the last 16. Now thinking back to their games at Pork heid and they have beaten Man U, Barca, Benfica, Villareal, Juve, Drawn with Bayern and beat Lyon. Now, look at who we've lost to at home. Smashed by Panathaniokos (3-1), Sevilla (4-1), Unirea (4-1), Lyon (3-0). We LOST to Man U 1-0 twice and were beaten by an average Stuttgart team. They rarely lose at home. They certainly don't get humped 4-1 off a Romanian bunch of nobodies and 3-1 from a Greek side. So it's clear that C***** are far stronger than us at home in Euro games. So why is that?? Well personally i think it comes down to the management. I can't really remember us having a real go at teams apart from the Advocate days when teams were scared to come to Ibrox. Recent times though we've been shaky and if we didn't lose, we'd draw or stumble over the line? Walter, Eck and Ally's cautious approach has clearly back fired and C***** at least having a bit of balls has paid of heaps for them. Keep in mind i'm talking about HOME games here. So what's the answer?? Well i now feel even less sure about Coisty and Co being in charge. I'm not saying for a second i'm a fan of Neil Lemmon but at least he set's his teams us to have a fucking go at home in europe. I'm just not feeling at all confident that when we do get back onto the grand stage, we will have a go like we all want us to. Food for thought i think...
  21. Amazing result. All credit to Sweden. Can't really explain that. Just shows u how crazy football can be.
  22. Ally really has to get his finger oot his arse because this is simply not good enough and far from being so. I love Ally but things aren't going for him and you just wonder if the players are playing for him?? Doesn't seem so. I don't know exactly but why was Hutton not in the squad? This is just sheer stupidity and bad management from Ally. We can all see that Hutton should probably be a starter if not in the match day squad. Reminds me of that Australian lad Mckay who was never used by Ally. Total waste of a good player there. Clearly the players need rockets up their arses as well. Jig and Alexander are doing everything they can but others are hiding. We've just got no fluidity or tempo away from home. I'm not yet jumping on the 'Ally Out' bus but i probably will give him 2 more games (away games) to turn things around. We've had a defeat so only fair we give him a chance to put it right. I say 2 games because we could win our next away match and then go back to the same old pish we've seen away from home in the game after. At home it's practically assured we'll win. My patience is wearing thin for Ally and his coaching staff but i hope they can turn it around.
