  1. Let’s be honest this is embarrassing. If we can’t afford McInnes then we clearly can’t afford anyone better either. Why not just announce Murty is there till the end of the season, and see how he does. Rangers should never be waiting for ‘applications’ or conducting ‘interviews’ the manager should be head-hunted. If we had a chief executive who had a clue, he would have an idea who he was appointing before he sacked the previous incumbent. The board took an eternity to appoint Caixinha & he was a disaster. This board seem incapable of any action unless Dave King is in the country & it’s not good enough that he rarely is. Should be a vote of no confidence at the AGM. Maybe they’re waiting for McInnes to resign but even then it’s a complete shambles!
  2. Probably stretching my optimism here, but if we do beat them on Saturday, especially if they are poor at the back, then they will be asking why they never went out and signed a Bruno Alves lol
  3. I love the way in the UK today, it seems that if one person expresses an opinion, then it automatically becomes a fact that they somehow represent the majority. If they were that bothered, they wouldn't be getting season tickets, or selling out their allocation when they play us at Ibrox..
  4. Exactly this. If he wins its mind games and fair enough. But if he loses, its pointing the finger at his board. And it might not be the last time this happens. If Anderlecht beat them, Big Brenda will absolutely make sure the media are running with this. Where does all these billions they keep earning go??

Oddly enough I switched off after the Rangers game, which was first on. I noticed earlier though that Chris Mutton is now on English BBC MOTD as well now. Are BT Sport & BBC part of the same company now?? Sutton, Lineker, Michael Stewart, Robbie Savage.. all complete wallpapers who work for both!
  6. In an ideal world there would be an inquiry, and if the courts had ruled in our favour we sure as hell would be demanding one. Because we were the victims in all this. However given that we live in a country where the media portray a club who have won 6 titles in a row due to their only rivals demotion as somehow being the disadvantaged party, then there is no chance we would ever get justice from such an inquiry. Even if it found in our favour, the media would not report it as such & most of the public would never bother reading it, other than the headlines in the daily Record..
  7. So now both Hibs and Aberdeen - significant players in the decision to kick us out of the league in 2012 - have declared that enough is enough. Let's face it they knew in '12 that this would be an expensive road to go down, but they thought their own fans & Celtic would step up and cover the cost of the financial disaster our demotion caused them. Instead Celtic got a free pass to the Champions League while Hibs, Hearts & Dundee Utd got relegated. The keyboard warriors/armchair fans who demanded our expulsion turned out to have no interest in buying season tickets for these clubs, possibly because they were never fans of these clubs in the first place. And now Lawwell wants to lead them down this path again?? Maybe the penny has finally dropped!
  8. Could go for £10million in a couple of years. We'll see. Nowhere near as good as Negri from Aug-Dec '97 was, but Morelos is a far better player than the doppleganger they replaced Negri with for the next 3 years. I mean 50 goals before Xmas, scored against every team in the SPL, an average of 2 per game and netted in 10 league matches in a row (including 5 in one game against DUFC). What happened to him after new year '98 is a bigger mystery than the Bermuda triangle. I mean seriously, Mulder and Scully should have a look into that one..
  9. Today suggested we might be better than last season. Slightly. Is that going to be enough for Caixinha to keep his job?? I suppose realistically it should be. We need stability. Pedro will never win the title, but maybe he can lay a firm foundation - like Tommy Burns did at celtic all those years ago. Maybe we can't afford to chop and change again. Certainly today we scored more against Ross County than Warbuton's team did in 3 games against them last season. We are only 3 behind celtic and while Aberdeen have 12 points, they haven't played a top 6 team yet. We have probably played 2. The celtic game in September will be the time to pass judgement. Even if we lose, we need to show we can compete - we certainly didn't in the 1-5 or 0-2 games last year, and that's what worries me. Yet I feel Pedro has signed Rangers class players in Morelos, Jack, Dorrans, Alves and even Candeias seems an SPL player now. But does he know how to use them? And can we afford to be wasting £5million on Mexican has-beens? The jury is still out, but today was a must-win, and we did it with a bit to spare. When did we last deservedly win an away game by 2 goals in the top division?? I honestly can't remember..
  10. Is there going to be an AGM this year? The RST used to have one every year, but don't think C1872 have had one at all. I won't bother voting. Isn't it a legal requirement to have an AGM every year??
  11. Obviously I'm old (40) but I just cannot see the attraction in this. These pyrotechnics are not funny, not impressive and not safe. I'm not sure what they are meant to be. Yet it seems to be a part of youth culture as they do it at all the grounds, in Scotland at least. The only people who are remotely impressed by this are the wee neds in the opposite support who do the exact same thing. The rest of us actually pay the money to watch a game of football. There is absolutely no chance of Rangers bringing in a green-brigade style standing section, at least I hope not anyway. It would be an affront to the victims of the Ibrox disaster in my opinion. Even then, the club would have to evict adult, full fee-paying season tickets holders who have been in their seat for generations, and for who? Some bunch of ignorant wee runts who want to sing about dead terrorists all day, yet weren't even born when Bobby Sands & co were planting bombs on the British mainland?? If you think the green brigade provide a good atmosphere then go and support Celtic. I imagine decent celtic fans are completely embarrassed by that mob, they used to boast about winning fair play awards but the GB have completely wrecked their reputation (which is the one thing I thank them for, ironically). If you want to stand at the football, there are over 100 Junior teams in your local area who play in stadiums where you can stand all day, get pished and even take your dog if you want. I suggest you go there. Its cheaper too. I even go myself now and again, but won't be demanding a safe seating area, CCTV and £6 hot-dogs. here is the link- http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/sjfa
  12. What are you on about?? We are crying out for a winger. Windlass isn't a winger, and Dalcio can't even get a game (which shows how bad an idea selling Barrie McKay was). When was Jason Holt ever a winger?? If loaners from City are good enough for Celtic then it's good enough for us. This boy could be better than Patrick Roberts. The last time we won the league we had a winger from City on loan, and a defender from Arsenal (Weiss & Bartley) so no complaints from me on this one..
  13. PC has been in 6 months and produced two of the worst results in our history. Mind you Gordon Strachan had a start like that at Celtic. However the real issue for the board will be the £5million we shelled out for Pena & Herrera, who can't even get in the team. That was how they fell out with Warbuton, as he wasn't playing Garner & Senderos. Pedro' signings have been worse, so it's fair to assume he will get a worse appraisal. After the Celtic game will be when the axeman cometh. I could actually imagine us falling about 20 Pts behind by then, but beat them! Though only because that is what used to happen the other way round in the 1990s, not because of any logical feelings..
  14. A bit belated, but I went along and was slightly impressed. We dominated the midfield against a full strength championship team, and looked a lot more solid than last year against Stenhousemuir. A lot of that was down to Jason Holt, who's attitude was superb. Barjonas and Beerman also impressed. Finishing let us down, and defending was poor though. So just like the first team, then! I couldn't help but reminisce about when Kyle Hutton was Motm against Man U & Valencia in the champions league. What might have been.. though dropping 3 divisions probably never helped his development.
  15. Didn't we wear a new white away strip against Watford??
  16. The issue here is that previous Hibs manager Pat Fenton got banned for an identical gesture a few years ago. Not to mention Andy Hallidays red card against Morton. I didn't agree with either of those decisions, but you can't have one rule for Lennon and another for every body else!
  17. Only positive I will give Lennon is that he did the right thing getting rid of Cummings and signing the boy Murray. Cummings was a good finisher, but never gave our defence as torrid a time as Murray did on Saturday. And he was up against Bruno Alves, not Kiernan or Moshni. Only hope they play as well against Celtic & Aberdeen!
  18. Rossi tee would surely be eligible anyway, as he is still under 20?
  19. This article sums up why journalists are hated by all decent people. Because they think it is their right to scrutinise others, but as soon as they get a taste of their own medicine.. they cry foul!
  20. I said last week after watching Hibs beat Thistle that they looked like 11 Neil Lennons and that showed again today. That will probably stand them in good stead though to be honest. I also couldn't care less what gestures he made, although note that Halliday got sent off for less. Like Hallidays red card at Morton, Ryan Jacks was a disgrace. That cost us the game, the referee cost us the game and I very very rarely say that. So I will hold fire on Caixinha this week. However, Pedro should have noted from the Thistle game, that John McGinn spent the whole game trying to get the Partick skipper sent off. I can't remember him being a dirty player under Alan Stubbs, so no prizes for guessing who instilled that into him. It's a deliberate tactic, Lennon tried to get opponents sent off as a player and it worked for him today as a manager. But we should have been expecting it.
  21. Shame there is no such thing as freedom of speech in this country any more. The only obscenity here is the wages the likes of Sinclair get paid. Haven't the courts & police got real criminals to deal with?
  22. I'm not sure this discussion is representative of most Rangers fans to be honest. Homosexuality was actually illegal as recently as 1980. It has since become socially acceptable and it's now actually illegal to openly express any kind of moral opposition to it, but a lot of us were born before 1980 and still have the values which were ingrained in us as children. I do know a few gay men through work though and none of them are remotely interested in football, or competitive sports in general. They have more varied interests. Why is this a problem? I suspect it's more to do with Corporate Football trying to attract a section of the community who have a higher disposable income than the rest of us, than it has any true relevance to 'equality.' Like everything else these days..
  23. Quite worrying if Caixinha shelled out £3.5million for a guy who can't keep up with the rest of the squads fitness levels. But it would explain why he has been dropped by the national team & his club sold him for half what they paid for him. Mind you, we did something similar when we signed Gazza. He never really featured until September. He didn't do too badly once he did get up to speed!
  24. Pedro could be a week away from the sack. We have 3 difficult games in 6 days and the fans will demand victories. Doesn't look good for him that McKay, Garner & O'Halloran all scored the winners for their new clubs when he never rated any of them either..
  25. Anyone use Utilita? Would you recommend or not recommend switching your gas & levy bills over to them?
