  1. PLG is an exciting prospect, but due to MB and DM he wasn't allowed to purchase his 'first choice' players and we still have no Youth Development and DM is stripping the club bare so he can sell up.

As I have said thro-out this debate, the on-field problems are a tiny % of the real problems and are a direct knock-on effect form the off-field ones. PLG *may* improve the team short-term, but without 100% support from the board, we will not improve long-term.

this i a whole-heartedly agree with (as you know).

  2. also, the idea that plg is playing tried and tested internationals is a joke - steven smith, bardsley/hutton, svensson, clement, martin, burke and adam, all form a central part of our first team where they have never before. all youngsters, all getting played.

  3. cammy, it seems to me you can't harp on about using young and under experienced players against plg, and not be considered a short termist. it seems to me you can't be against tinkering with a team at the beginning of a manager's tenure, and not be a short termist.

a case of having your cake and eating it, i think, as stupid as that saying is.

  4. But by then it was too late - he should have changed it after Hibs took the lead as it was obvious we were struggling. It took us 68 minutes to have a shot on goal - 68 fookin minutes....

ah, so now we've changed from "he wont change it" to "he will change it, but far too late"? ;)

  5. Will PLG alter his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation? I very much doubt it.

I'm not sure why you doubt it. If its not working, he'll change it. He changed it on Sunday with 15 minutes to go, changing to a 4-4-2.

  6. Not by sections of the fans he wasn't....

    Cammy F

cammy, criticising the new manager after 4 weeks because some sections of the support done it to eck is as silly as muslims starting a fit of violence in disgust at the pope saying their religion was violent. ;)

  7. I don't know how you can judge players who've only played a few games. To say they have failed and the manager should be blamed means you are either clairvoyant, jumping the gun or maybe you're more qualified than the Rangers scouts?

Hateley took a year to settle into the Rangers team and became a legend.

Sebo and Sionko have shown they can play and score at international level, so I'd say they have a good chance to become good players for Rangers but need games to show us that.

Svensson is taking longer as he's played 8 games, but we bought a 22 year old foreigner whom we knew wasn't the finished product.

You are being way overly harsh and I don't remember this kind of unreasonable criticism from you when Eck was around.

agreed. but i think this is part of cammy's plan to show that the criticism of eck was, itself, unreasonable.

  8. OK lads, even if its felt that something unfair has happened, having a go at each other isn't going to help.

In future, if anyone has any problem with the moderating of the forum, simply PM Frankie or Stuart and I assure you that the problem will be addressed.

I'm going to close (though not delete) this thread, as there is nothing more that can be productively said. To re-iterate, please, if you have a problem with each other, or any of the moderators, please take it to PM. There's no clique and everyone will be treated fairly.

    Thanks,

    Barry

  9. thats the superior sex for you!! reality check, only this year we finished 3rd in the spl, we are now on a 21 unbeaten run of games and surely some of you can see we are capable of so much more than we saw tonight. im not making excuses for the team and i am far from happy with the game tongiht, i just think that theres a lot better to come and think some of the hysteria is a bit uncalled for.

i think i'll need to get into a debate with my mrs tonight just so that i can be set straight twice on the one evening. ;)

  10. doom and gloom!! yawn! bad performance, ok result considering the bad performance. we are still so inconsistent, why are so many rangers fans disillusioned into thinking we are able to beat everyone we come up against. we play a different line up every game,a different formation and too many players cannot pass to each other. as much as folk may hate it, it is going to take time. last year we'd have got the same result playing at our best, tonight we got that result playing as bad as we have all season. its half time in the leg. its not good enough, but it is still not unexpected from a new team playing away in europe.

i think you're brain just works quicker than the rest. it usually takes me a week of moping and moaning to get to this level of rational. :)

  11. No way .

I hate all these fans that call him " Minty " etc ,,

Mr Murray has got the club to where we are the day , and to be able to do that is something i admire the Legend for.

And when " Mr Murray " does sell the club , he will not sell it to some dickhead who will only see Rangers Football Club as a money earner , he will sell it to someone who will have the heart in the job and have love for the club.

how do you know? is this just wishful thinking? i think the fact that we cant do anything more than hope is a poor reflection on us as a support.

    come on the rst.

  12. no way david murray will give it to the highest bidder he will give it to someone that has the club at heart

someone like me if i had the money

you being serious man? i'm not sure hwat in murray's track record would indicate that he's going to give it to someone with the club at heart. he has recently actively took extra control of the club to oust the one organisation, the RST, who have the club's interest at heart, i think.

  13. i was reading an article in FF that was discussing how "we are the people" is meaningless, since, us "the people" have to wish wistfully for our next custodian to be benevolent and look after the club. i think we ourselves blew it when we have the chance to buy shares.

so, do you think that whoever takes over from murray will have the best interests at heart? if so, is this based on anything more than blind faith?
