Frankly, if i was you I would seek some legal advice, from a lawyer versed in sports' law.

It is important to establish just where he stands contractually, and if the Club has been in breach of its obligations.

Thank you, I will look into this :-)

  2. They won't let him go on loan, he could have gone on loan to championship sides who wanted him but Rangers wouldn't let him go, again, I am saying too much and it is probably getting quite obvious who he is but to be honest I am at the stage where I don't even really care any more, am considering going to the press.

Without knowing the details its really hard to offer much advice other than perhaps to go back and have the conversation again, perhaps referencing what has happened previously and asking for a decision to be made one way or the other as you move towards the summer, so that perhaps you can start planning the future if its not with us.

He will see out his contract and then he will move on, don't want to say too much as it won't take too much to work out who he actually is.

Obviously don't know who your boy is but but from a laymans point of view, I've always found that the best approach is to have an open and frank discussion with the management team to find out exactly where you stand, is the best policy.   Does your son have an agent?  They'll be used to having such conversations and perhaps would remove some of the anxiousness that someone like yourself might feel if not used to such a situation.

Hope it works out for you  and your son whatever happens.

Yes we have had open and frank discussions and have been lied to, and yes, he has an agent who has also been lied to, very frustrating, we've done all we can do, he is trapped, Rangers hold all the cards.

  5. Yes Harry, Jamie Brandon, Daniel Baur and Aaron Reid have all been at Rangers Academy at one stage or another and moved to Hearts and have all had some first team experience. Don't know why Murty, who has coached our u20s, doesn't seem to have faith in them. It's fair enough if he doesn't, it's his opinion and he is the manager, but he should just let the boys move on somewhere else where someone will give them a chance, these boys have given their all for years, they are talented, they do have what it takes to be professional footballers, if it isn't going to be at Rangers let it be somewhere else. If I could get my boy out I would, in fact we are feeling pretty desperate and if anyone has any advice as to how we can get my boy away please let me know.

Great to see Rangers spending money on prospects. As I said on the other thread, this is the age you can get the best value player. Especially with Scottish players who don't need persuaded to sign for Rangers. I'd like to see fringe players cleared out in the summer and more U20s on the bench next season. Lower wage bill and gives them a clear pathway to the first team. I think it's pretty discouraging for them at the moment with the likes of Hodson and Dodoo ahead of them.

It really is, completely soul destroying for them, some of them fortunately have been allowed to go out on loan and hopefully things will work out for them but for those older boys playing U20s, not playing for the first team and not being allowed to go out on loan it is extremely concerning, there is a real worry that after having giving all of their childhood and early adulthood fully committed to Rangers they are going to end up nowhere, they deserve better, as a parent I find it absolutely heartbreaking for my son.

Agree. The Norwich manager seems to think he left for first team football. I’ve seen him legitimately knock players over with ease at u19 level, and he’s a bit like a squat Oliver Burke. Real pace and power and a great left foot. He must be close to the first team.

I agree, can see him getting a few development games under his belt and then being fringe first team soon,

This lad has captained Scotland at youth levels and is very highly rated. It would be financial madness to let his contract expire.

The problem is that the development fee can put other clubs off signing our youngsters, if they are not going to be part of our first team squad is it not best for them that they are able to move on for free and hopefully get a good move and have a successful career as a professional footballer.

Aye very good, let just allow a terrific young prospect walk out the door.

Sign him up quickly and send him out on loan to gain the experience.

If you were a parent of a youngster at Auchenhowie you may feel different.

  10. I don't think a new contract would be a good idea for Liam, he will get nowhere near our first team, it is flooded with midfielders, best thing for him is to move on somewhere where he will get first team football.

A move to the MLS is a terrible carreeer move for someone that age. Where's his ambitions or is he just chasing the money?

I think he probably feels he is 3rd choice CB at Rangers at best, and if the rumour about the Brentford CB (Yoanne Barbet?) are true then he would maybe be 4th choice CB, why would he want to stay at Rangers when he would (I imagine) be playing week in week out in America. Also, I would imagine that for his family a move to America  would be a positive thing, maybe it appeals to his wife, and yes I am sure an improved salary is a big incentive. If you were in his shoes would you not do the same?
