  1. I think we would get better money for Ridvan in the summer, especially with a run in the team under his belt.
  2. I've never been a big fan of old players taking coaching positions but I'd definitely make an exception for Steve Davis. He's made for the role. The end of his playing career but the beginning of his next adventure.
  3. Either Sandy Jardine was right or they were all entitled to put their own careers first. Either way, I don't like this idea of pretending one was somehow less guilty or more at fault. They all walked. The only hero in my books was Lee Wallace.
  4. They all seem to have lost their motor bikes.
  5. I wish him well but surely we all knew this was the only possible option. No one beats time.
  6. They certainly were back then - you got treated like royalty and the seating was fabulous. I haven't been recently but I had heard that they were in much need of a renovation about 5 years ago. I hope they got it.
  7. I remember an end of season game when I invited a client to take his two kids and I took mine. After the game, Lorenzo Amoruso came into the box with the league trophy and was fabulous with the kids. He made sure everyone got their photo taken with him and holding the trophy (that's when I discovered just how heavy it is). He spend lots of time talking with the kids in a wee huddle. I was so grateful for his kindness, which I felt was entirely genuine. Players can do so much to create lifetime bonds between club and fans.
  8. Makes me nervous when people start looking further than the next game.
  9. I tend not to vote fore substitutes who play less than half a game but this time I voted for Dujon Sterling. The difference he made in midfield was clear for everyone to see. He oozed commitment, winning challenges that Raskin couldn't get near and making positive passes that had been so lacking in the first half. He's gone from a fullback without a role to someone who should so obviously be a first choice midfielder. From what I've seen since he got his chance in midfield, he's a better player than either Lundstram or Raskin. Edit: Oh and we need to be holding on to Ridvan Yilmaz, at least until the summer. He's got league championship medal written all over him.
  10. Some years back my company had a Club Deck hospitality box for a few seasons. Willie Henderson and Davie Wilson were our hosts for a while and we had many good chats with them. I was always struck by their humility - there was never any pretentions or grandstanding, just two decent blokes who were as keen to have a laugh and talk about the team and the game as we were. The other one we had for a while that I always think of was Colin Jackson, who was just the nicest guy you could hope to meet.
  11. There's no way that ball is going to reach the goal line in the replay
  12. Sterling is actually quite an improvement on Raskin - better ball winner and certainly a better passer.
  13. I don't know any Rangers fans who wouldn't welcome being part of a better league system. The club certainly want it. However, in the absence of even the remotest chance of it happening, the only way we are going to improve our environment is for the Scottish league to improve far beyond its current pathetic state .... and there's less chance of that happening than Rangers joining La Liga in February. It's not a good situation but fantasising about joining one of the major leagues isn't going to help.
  14. I agree and our fullbacks may not have the usual opportunity to get forward but, having stretched it, you still need end product and that will have to come from Silva (or Dessers). I might therefore prefer Wright instead of Matondo.
  15. It's certainly pacy up front but unless Silva finally arrives I think that selection looks all supply and no delivery
  16. That's not a partnership. That's the rich exploiting the poor. I'll leave you to decide which is which.
  17. In the absence of coherence, the petulant thrive and become dangerous.
