One day, hopefully not too far away, we’ll have a team that’s good enough for us not to have to demean ourselves by talking utter bollocks about a hoodoo, Hampden or otherwise.
-
I’ve had an enamel poppy badge in my lapel since I bought it in 2014. I couldn’t give a shit whether anyone thinks this was four year too soon or is now four years too late. Too soon? Really, just f*ck off.
-
More than somewhat. You'd think after all we've been through we of all people would understand the extent of the job in front of Steven Gerrard.
-
Seriously, did anyone really think Steven Gerrard, with limited funds, was going to get the entire rebuilding job done in a single transfer window? If not, then why are we finding it so difficult to maintain composure over today's defeat?
-
Good post. Judging from the reactions here I can only assume a lot of people think we're the finished article, instead of the raw work in progress we so obviously are. We're not ready to be winning trophies, it's as simple as that and a few decent EL performances doesn't change the reality of our situation. Sure, we've come a long way since last season but I'd say no more than half way to being the team we all want us to be. While still disappointing, once you accept that, the result today comes into clearer perspective.
-
I don't understand why you're still stuck in the "the BBC has a responsibility and isn't fulfilling it" mentality. We all know that, we've known it for years, we've said it for years and continually stating the bleeding obvious isn't going to change anything. Only the BBC can change the current situation and it neither wants to nor intends to. Instead of wailing in fantasy land about injustice and moral obligation, it's time to accept that the present situation was carefully and deliberately orchestrated and is here to stay. Face it, suck it up, live with it. Fight the battles you can win and stop wringing your hands about something neither you nor the club can do anything about. It is what it is. So what if some people can't figure out how the get round the lack of radio reporting? There are winners and losers at every turn in life. Most of us have made other arrangements to stay informed about Rangers and I'm sure most of those who so far refuse to do so won't die as a result. Personally, I think life is better without the BBC coverage and nothing would persuade me to listen to them again anyway. In the words of the prophet, fuck them and move on.
-
Have you ever, even once, heard fans of other clubs complaining? Most of them know exactly what’s going on and are delighted to go along with it.
-
Behave yourself. Do you seriously see the SPFL inviting Rangers to bid for SPFL broadcasting rights. Let’s try to keep this in the real world.
-
And what's the best we would achieve at the end of the day? To have people who universally loathe and despise Rangers using their new obligation to report from Ibrox to belittle and ridicule us to another generation of gullible listeners? Or are we going to force persuade them to employ only Rangers fans in future? If they reported on Rangers every minute of every day I couldn't listen to it anyway and I'm a bit surprise there are Rangers fans howling for a return to that sort of anti-Rangers garbage.
-
Are you suggesting appealing to the football authorities who were content to see Rangers ushered into the backwaters of Scottish football without lifting a finger to help us. I think there's every likelihood the SPFL would come down on the side of the BBC.
-
I don't. At no time have I suggested I did. Pay attention. Get RTV, go to the pub or read a book. If you can only listen to radio then get a really good book. It's not good, it's not fair, it's not right. But it is what it is and only the BBC can resolve the issue ... but they don't want to and they won't. And Club1872 is too busy counting its money and dreaming of fan ownership. So what are you going to do? What's your solution, beyond whining and having Rangers grovel to the haters at PQ?
-
I think most people take that for granted and grasp it perfectly well, so it changes nothing and there's really little point repeating it.
-
I think we'll minimise disruption to the rest of the team and start with Sadiq up front. If it doesn't work, we'll go to plan B and move Middleton to a central forward position. But really, I haven't a scooby. McGregor Tavernier Goldson Worral Flanagan Jack Candeias Ejaria Arfield Kent Sadiq
-
You're bang on, this is exactly the role Club1872 should be adopting and devoting their energies and resources to. I'd like to see them engaging legal representation to challenge BBC Scotland's negligence and I'd expect them to be pulling out all stops to publicise the BBC's dishonesty in representing this as the fault of Rangers. You could buy a lot of newspaper space for £1m. It would certainly be of more use that fans endlessly repeating to each other how unfair it is ... or inferring the situation is down to Rangers by suggesting we should be pursuing a resolution.
-
No one depends on the BBC. But some want to. Badly.
-
Yes, I always do. You're the one who routinely gets upset. This is detracting from an excellent topic. I suggest we show respect to 26th and stop or take our squabbling elsewhere.
-
I hate bullying even more than acquired victimhood. Yet every one of us has almost certainly been part of it ourselves, either giving or receiving, at some stage in our lives. It's truly horrible and has tainted many many lives.
-
Probably the same SJW darlings who detest our unionism and Britishness.
-
Be frank with me ... this empty vessel has got under your skin and found a large raw nerve, haven't I? But not because of anything I've posted because I don't think I've ever called anyone stupid. However, if you're convinced the cap fits ... ?
-
Yes we all object to the BBC and its bigotry. We all know what they do and say. This topic has over 1000 posts recording it. The real issue is what's to be done about it and bending our knee to them while expecting everything to be resolved as a result is either naive or foolish, probably both. Doing so because we can't be arsed making alternative arrangements to see or listen to Rangers' games shows a regrettable lack of character. More importantly, why would anyone actually choose to listen to BBC Scotland vent their hatred of Rangers?
-
Seriously, it’s beyond incredible there are still Rangers fans who think you can appeal BBC Scotland’s better nature.... or think this is something the Rangers board can change. What chance is there for us if people continue to inhabit la-la land? Y’know, that cotton wool country where David Murray is still a benevolent custodian, where the RST still stood up for fans, where referees only ever make honest mistakes and where religion is a compassionate force for good in the world.
-
On-street shops are a waste of time and money. The High Streets are dying all over Britain, why would it be different for Rangers? What would be useful a complete re-vamp of our online sales to bring it in line with the best in class. As for "advertising", who would we be advertising our merchandise to .. presumably only those who already know about it and want to buy it. No, if we need anything it's improved marketing of the Rangers brand to counteract the negativity being smeared all over us by the likes of the BBC and Scottish press.
-
There's no point to this. It's just howling at the moon and expecting a reply. We all know the BBC isn't going to change its attitude to Rangers, regardless of what the Rangers Board does. What I absolutely don't understand is why you place responsibility for "resolving" this dispute at Rangers' door. Are you trying to say this is all Rangers' fault? Why aren't you appealing to the BBC? Is your inconvenience more pressing than the anti-Rangers discrimination actively peddled by the BBC? Are you really saying there wasn't somewhere you could have gone to watch the game on TV? There are bears all over the world who get up in the middle of the night and drive miles just to see the Rangers. Suck it up, stop whining.
