  1. Yup, that's the BBC that some of us are so keen to re-engage with, that some of us think will change its spots on the mere expediency of "issuing a statement". Dream on.
  2. Talking of disappearances, whatever happened to that club we were told we'd be battling with for second place? Can't see them anywhere.
  3. That's an image of pure beauty. If I drank I'd toast their destitution.
  4. Oh my, how good is life when karma does it’s thing. Ross County stroll into. 4-1 lead at Tannadice in 50 mins. I’m hoping for 8 by full time.
  5. Look at the recent farce about Sir Cliff Richard. Condemned in court after court, costs of over £1m awarded against them, God knows how much public money wasted on their own legal costs ... and they still won't concede they did a single thing wrong. The BBC, as a matter of course, never ever backs down.
  6. I know of several attempts to bring this issue directly to the attention of BBC in London. On each occasion it was rebuffed out of hand. Some other members will know of what I speak. As I've said before, the BBC policy is that the BBC is never wrong, even when it is. I'm now convinced there is no route to sanity via the BBC in Scotland or London.
  7. I didn't ... but if you feel so strongly that the cap fits then be my guest.
  8. Unfortunately, boxing clever means boxing clever, not just thinking we're boxing clever by adopting the much-loved appearance of reasonableness. The sort of re-engagement with the BBC being suggested is facile and amounts to little more than being seen to do something. However, I'll willingly change my mind if even one of the proponents of re-engagement can provide a sliver of an iota of a morsel of evidence to suggest the BBC is in any way receptive to changing it's current attitude to Rangers. An attitude that we cannot prove is given huge momentum by the entrenched bigotry and personal loyalties of many of the editorial and frontline reporting staff at the BBC ... but which we know beyond doubt was one of the main reasons why the BBC so quickly initiated its current reporting policies and which is as profound today as it was then. By all means box clever but don't make silly arses of yourselves or Rangers by thinking the BBC will be a willing or constructive partner to your actions. Negotiations without leverage are no negotiations at all.

    Semi Final

I think what we have here is a fudge of historic proportions. Aberdeen has a valid point. Both games should have 3pm kickoffs and they should be played in different neutral venues. Anyone with an iota of fair play knows it. The SPFL is simply carrying on a tradition of opinionated incompetence, then realising what a fuck up they've created, and finally covering it up with lame excuses and half truths.
  10. How interesting you should choose to see things from a BBC perspective. Try this instead... If the BBC gave assurances to Rangers, in public, that it would apply the same standards of reporting as it does to all other clubs, then Rangers would be in a position where it would no longer need to withdraw press privileges from anyone. The only reason for not seeing it this way is if you think Rangers acted unjustifiably in the first place. I don't.
  11. You're profoundly mistaken. The BBC is never wrong and never apologises ... about anything. That has been a hallmark of BBC operations since the beginning of time. The Rangers situation is hardly unique. The BBC selectively addresses almost every other news issue and has had no hesitation adopting and maintaining blatant political stances in other issues. The idea the BBC will be affected by Rangers reinstating press privileges for a BBC reporter is, frankly, devoid of coherent thought.
  12. That's all very well and good but unfortunately it's also based on the premise that there is anyone out there with the slightest interest in listening to the Rangers side of the story ... or in exposing anything that's been going on. There's a very good reason why controlling the media has been the ambition of every bigot since time began. There's certainly no point appealing to the BBC at any level, here or in London - that's been tried on many occasions that I know of and with zero success. Someone suggested the Scottish Government might ride to our side but despite protestations from a few ScotNats on Gersnet, I've seen absolutely no evidence to support such a proposition. Since the rest of the media in Scotland more or less reflects the BBC's attitudes to Rangers, I can't see the light of day shining through that particular door either. But I come back to the point I've made several times. We simply do not need the BBC, any more than I need to rush out and start buying newspapers again to find out what's going on in the world. As Rangers re-emerges as a trophy-winning club it will become glaringly obvious that the BBC has lost a great deal more through their bigotry and unprofessionalism than we ever have. and THAT is the only leverage that will ever make any difference or lead to any lasting and meaningful change in attitudes across the media in general.
  13. Dear Aunty, My friends are calling for reprochement with the hordes at Pacific Quay but there goes yet another Rangers game where I failed utterly to miss the BBC's close attentions. It gets worse ... I’m left with little irritation and almost compulsion to whine and grind my teeth over what the BBC didn’t say. What's wrong with me? Yours in anticipation,
  14. Lighten up, some humour is just irresistible ?
  15. I'd crawl on my hands and knees to Hampden to see Rangers win any trophy. No competition is below our standards. We exist to win silverware and it's much too long since any Rangers supporters enjoyed any success for us to start being choosy.
  16. I don't always read these things through to the end but that was great preview, very entertaining. ?
  17. That post embodies everything that has been weak and ill-directed about the new-age Rangers fans that have emerged in numbers over the last 25 years. Rangers acts reasonably in the face of persistent biased reporting and see our attackers extend their impartial campaign by effectively blacklisting the club. This is then compounded by increasingly overt criticism and ridicule. So along comes this brand of supporter, on their knees and calling for appeasement and pursuing deals that can be "sold" to the fans. As if this was a situation of our own making and believing that any resolution would immediately result in a 180 degree change in BBC attitudes to Rangers. It's beyond fantasy. It would be easy to despair at the naivety and cowed compliance of some of our colleagues in the Rangers support. Seriously, you have to wonder what kind of infantile world they inhabit.
  18. Thank you. I’ll ask anyway, can’t see anything to lose.
  19. A statement? Seriously, do you really think the current situation is going to be resolved by a f**king "statement". Get a grip of yourself.
  20. I'm no expert but I think you'll find radio rights are much less strictly applied than TV. In any case we'll not know unless someone looks into it.
  21. Bang on Coop. THIS is the only way to deal with the BBC. Anything else is not only craven but pointless.
