  1. There's no point simply listing the benefits of the EL. Those are already obvious. The question was raised to consider the situation where we drop league points to the sacrifice of title hopes because of fatigue or injury due to the heavy schedule. I accept the EL is invaluable but I also accept we could also lose the league at least partly because of it.
  2. You have to ask the question whether EL group stage will be good for Rangers. While we need the money, I think we will struggle to meet our league ambitions with such a thin squad if we have to play Thursday-Sunday for weeks on end. On the other hand, if we accept it will take at least a couple of seasons to be fully competitive then perhaps EL football will only help develop our players and attract new signings. It's a hard call.
  3. Always disappointing to lose points with the last kick of a game but there were definite positives again, not the least of which is the continuing resurrection of Andy Halliday.
  4. You play this many games, this early in the season, with this many new players and you’re going to have games when things go off track. It won’t help when the support lets expectation get too far ahead of reality.
  5. Looks like 4-1-4-1 to me. Will be interesting to see how they line up
  6. What chance Rangers being top of the league on Sunday evening?
  7. At the very least I hope he puts that bastard Peter Hartley in hospital.
  8. Scratch that idea then but we need to start rotating players soon.
  9. I can't help thinking an away game against hammer throwers like Motherwell is exactly the sort of fixture Lafferty was bought for. With two crucial games coming up I'd rest Kent, Ejaria, Candeias and Jack and start Lafferty, McCrorie, Halliday and Middleton. Otherwise this renaissance is going to run out of steam at the wrong time.
  10. The day will come when Rangers are winning titles again and are the sole Scottish club in Europe. Only then will the BBC game be clear to everyone who's not connected with Rangers. Until then, we watch and keep our own counsel.
  11. Can we also have a directive for Weegies on correct use of the past participle. Their reckless misuse of the English language has went far enough.
  12. No, it’s me that should be sorry. It’s none of my business what anyone watches or listens to. I just hates those bastards with a passion.
  13. Why are we spending so much time talking about the bloody BBC?
  14. It’s the only possibility anyway. Judging in advance is just gum bumping
  15. He didn't fail. He made a reasonable contribution overall and scored some goals that were critical to our successes during that period. But whatever his previous record, these attacks and this criticism AFTER we sign him is simply ridiculous. What's your objective? Do you think criticism before he even kicks a ball in anger will somehow improve his performances? Do you think Gerrard will suddenly decide to sell him again in response to your wisdom? What is it you want to achieve here ... other than promoting your own opinions? Try putting the club first.
  16. That's a pretty supercilious tweet, even for you. What's the point of it? I'm imagine he had no idea he was causing you so much anxiety ... but he does now. ?
  17. Every time these surfaces are questioned, we're told that they're financially essential to clubs like Kilmarnock, being cheaper to maintain and allowing unlimited community use of the pitch. So, what's the true differential for Kilmarnock? What might it cost in terms of SPFL/SFA support to allow Kilmarnock and other SPL clubs to meet a new directive to have a grass pitch. Are we talking thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, or what? I remember when Aberdeen should have been relegated but were saved because the promoted club couldn't deliver a 10,000 seat stadium, so why are grass pitches not deemed equally important to the elite game in Scotland? It's farcical.
  18. None at all. That would be thin-skinned and show a complete lack of national confidence. Unless of course it came from a thick mick, a greasy spic, a lazy arab, a boring German, a neurotic Canadian, a chaotic Greek, or a posing wop. Then it would be utterly unacceptable. ?
  19. Great, thanks. Still trying to finalise travel plans but will certainly get in touch with him. Thanks again.
