  1. Here's the bottom line. We won't be asked to endorse any offer for Lafferty. Nor will we know how well he does until after the event? Relax, life is good.
  2. Then perhaps RTV needs an audio outlet.
  3. Parents? I'm in my 60's and even I never listen to the radio or buy a newspaper. I get my sports coverage online and I buy any merchandise online. The idea that there's a huge support out there that needs outmoded outlets like the BBC is a fallacy. The world moves on and does so faster every day. We need to be addressing the future, not dragging ourselves back into the past.
  4. True .... but that's not at all the point, is it?
  5. Bang on the money (what's wrong with you ?)
  6. I've thought about this and still can't get my head around what the gain is from sniping at what is apparently an imminent new signing. I always thought it was traditional at Rangers to wait until a player had a ball at his feet before we start dismantling his confidence.
  7. I think it's important to remember how small our net spend is so far this window and how small our budget continues to be. In that context, Lafferty may well be the best route for us to go down at the moment. We're still three hard games away from any significant EL income boost and still need to remain reasonably cautious.
  8. Perhaps that was once true but (amazingly enough) my grandkids watch Rangers games on RTV and don't have to be up at 11.30 on a Sunday evening to watch the 3 minutes of highlights that sell nothing to anyone. Rangers needs to expand it's marketing effort big time, not devolve it to the likes of the BBC again. Where's the gain it having kids listen to the BBC tell them how poor/lucky/sectarian their club is?
  9. Agreed ... but I remember a certain Davie Cooper being horribly inconsistent too. ?
  10. Perhaps this will come as a surprise but I've no interest what Celtic fans think. We don't need the BBC. Buster raises a valid point above about developing future generations of Rangers fans but I think that will be more affected by winning trophies on the park and taking responsibility ourselves for promoting brand Rangers.
  11. So what do you suggest doing that no one else has been able to come up with? Other than engaging a consultant wizard and using magic? If I understand you, you want to have BBC coverage but accept that it will be dripping with anti-Rangers sentiment. Good luck selling that idea.
  12. Moonlighter - I'd love to see this presentation and wonder if a ticket could be purchased on the night? I live a long way from Methil but plan to be in Edinburgh around that date and might have a chance to come along.
  13. Do you honestly think BBC discrimination against Rangers only started with us withdrawing privileges from Chris McLaughlin ... or that it would stop if we returned those privileges? If you do then I truly feel sorry for your blindness.
  14. Absolutely right. Anyone NOT using VPN is failing to protect themselves as they should.
  15. What a load of piss and wind. A fuss over nothing. No one outside the bubble ever notices these things, or cares. Personally, I'd rather go for a pint but if people want to march, why not? As for "sinister" ... I don't think so.
  16. We must not, absolutely must not, change our position with respect to the BBC. Any Rangers fan who thinks extending press privileges to Chris McLaughlin will result in a change of attitude by the BBC is sadly deluded. The withdrawal of privileges from this one individual was proportionate and whole justified. The response it triggered from the BBC was not and only served to confirm that the anti-Rangers sentiment at the BBC goes an awful lot deeper than grunts like Chris McLaughlin. The gloating that would follow a Rangers climbdown would only be exceeded by the vindication these morons would feel for continued vilification of our club. Personally, I don't miss the BBC coverage, at all. It has in fact allowed me shelter from the BBC's projected hatred of Rangers. I don't listen to BBC Scotland radio and I never watch Sportscene. I subscribe to Rangers TV ... the club benefits from this and the coverage is far better. I can revisit games whenever I choose and get the Rangers view of things rather than having to endure BBC bigotry. I can see every Rangers game live on TV or enjoy highlights without the BBC. Who needs them? What on Earth would persuade any Rangers supporter to place value on a predictably unacceptable "normalisation" of relations with the BBC? If you think the BBC will put down the welcome mat to Rangers then you need to have some pride and think again.
  17. On the contrary, I think he's exactly what we need. It seems Steven Gerrard agrees with me ?
  18. I remember him getting dogs abuse at East End Park. He’d come back too early from injury and was struggling a bit. He was still launching tackles from about 15 yards out though. ?
  19. You're right of course, even when we were busy winning trebles.
  20. If Gerrard has identified Lafferty as necessary for a league challenge then he should get this signing over the line. If he has better options then we shouldn't be talking to Hearts. An additional £250k to bring on board the right man shouldn't be stopping the deal.
  21. What is it about Rangers supporters that always needs a whipping boy in the team? You never get 11 players at the top of their game at the same time all the time. Why not focus on those who are and cut some slack for those who aren't? We really need to shake off this negativity.
  22. That's clearly the case and the risk-reward trade off only demonstrates why it almost always takes more than one season to transform a club.
  23. With an incomplete squad, I’d rather compete for the domstic league title than worry too much about the EL.
