  1. Lulled you into a false sense of achievement then thumbed my nose at you as I raced past on the home straight. He who laughs last laughs at Buster ?
  2. I thought we were a far better team after Ryan Jack came on. He needs game time but, for my eye, he would be one of the first names on the team sheet. Time will tell.
  3. This is almost too much enjoyment. Where are all those smug Arabs now?
  4. I don't think the Gersnet podcast should ever be judged on anything other than "did you enjoy listening to it?" I'm not looking for deep analysis or comprehensive coverage of issues, you'll never get everyone to agree anyway. The podcast isn't an educational tool and it shouldn't strive to push one viewpoint over another. It's simply there to entertain and by luck or judgement has achieved just that so far. It should be informed but if you strive too hard to make it "slick" and professional, you'll lose the magic that has engaged the audience so successfully.
  5. What we need more than anything is real competition for Morelos. If he wants a place in the team he needs to start hitting the net. Otherwise I'm struggling to see the point of him.
  6. I rather like Josh Windass. I’ve no idea why some are putting a negative spin on his efforts last night.
  7. Chanting means singing. It's from the French dontcha know
  8. I wouldn’t use H&H as a benchmark. Polished or not, what you’re doing is much better - more informal, more personal. I generally don’t like podcasts as a medium and I wouldn’t know how to analyse the format but I’ve enjoyed most of the Gersnet ones so far. You don’t have to emulate H&H to be successful.
  9. It’s was a OK for an early season performance but I couldn’t help thinking longingly about an £11m offer turned down for someone whose barn door has forgotten what his banjo looks like.
  10. I’m a subscriber but I’d like to see it hen it matters. I’m actually optimistic about what we’ll see tonight but as they say, the proof of he pudding is in the eating.
  11. England are under 17 and under 20 world champions. Their senior team has just reached the WC semi-finals. Croatia, a country with a smaller population than Scotland is in the WC final in a few days time. Uruguay, a another country with a smaller population than Scotland, played in the WC quarter finals. What this does for me is emphasise the dreadful, pathetic state of Scottish football at all levels, club and national. And the worst of it is the reasons are glaringly obvious when you look at who is running the game here and for whose benefit. We're a total mess and every few years the WC comes around to rub our faces in it.
  12. That's OK then because I don't support England and I'm not a member of the Conservative Party and don't vote for them as a matter of course. Whatever gave you the idea that I did. ?
  13. They don't put me up nor down really. I've been around for too long to expect anything else and I'm certainly not going to get worked up about it when the expected duly arrives. It's not just the English media either. You can hear exactly the same skewed bullshit from the Scottish media any day of the week. I'm sure if we looked, we would see precisely the same outlandish bias if we looked at the French or Croatian media right now. It's just the way of the world. Luckily, we still have the option not to read the papers or to switch off or mute the tv.
  14. I can honestly say I saw England in the same way I saw every other team ... as a neutral fan of football. I enjoyed the enthusiasm the English showed for their team, the same as any other country. The only two things I found tedious about this world cup were the collapsing cheats and my fellow Scots who are so lacking in self-confidence that they daily filled social media with their endless whining and vitriol about England.
  15. I hope Gerrard has had them all on a diet of raw red meat for the last fortnight. If they don't take the field for this game like men possessed then we might as well give up.
  16. Belgium 3 - 2 England France 4 - 2 Croatia
  17. That's for sure! I make the point about duration not as a criticism about content or delivery but about the amount of time the listener has to devote to hearing the entire thing through. For me, there's a considerable difference between committing an hour or a half hour when it comes to thinking "do I have the time right now to relax and listen to this?" What I don't want to do is listen to some of it now and some later, or to fast forward in places to cut the duration. It's only my view and perhaps most people have no issue with an hour or so. The podcast adds an interesting new dimension to the site and in my view has been amazingly well done from the start. I hope you guys will keep it going.
  18. That’s impressive. You’ve managed to find just the right tone of discussion early on and I really hope you stick to this format. I still think it’s a tad too long though ?
  19. “And Gibson admits he fears that is on the verge of collapse and United will be left financially wrecked.“ Celebrate good times, come on
  20. I wasn’t there.I don’t know anyone who was there. Nevertheless I’ll go out on a limb and say this was a carefully choreographed performance of the Kafflick Victimhood Society. Why? Because history shows it almost always is.
