  1. Good luck Alex. Hopefully it works out well for the lad and Rangers.
  2. You know that major sevenths break my bones!
  3. I like to view these types of matches* like Scotland national team matches and see it as a bit of a win/win scenario. Hibs win - good for the coefficient and for Scottish football overall. Hibs lose - makes lots of Rangers hating twats miserable, which is very enjoyable. *Celtc are excluded, for obvious reasons
  4. Sakala gets goals and assists - there's no denying that.
  5. I'd agree with that but I'm not confident about the latter part.
  6. Butland Ridvan Souttar Balogun Tav Raskin Dowall Cantwell Lammers Dessers Danilo That's what I'd go with. I hope Cifuentes brings some real presence to the midfield because I still think we're missing something there. As for that back four, I hope none of them are first picks in the near future. First goal is important on Saturday. If we go into the lead, we should get 3 points. If we go behind, I'd be worried about our ability to turn it round against a well-drilled McInnes side.
  7. Management took him off. No idea if it was precautionary or not.
  8. I was at the Spartans v Rangers B match at Ainslie Park tonight. We won 3-0. It was a straightforward victory and the first goal was a cracker (Fraser, I think). Rice played quite well but I would like to see him moved forward. Lowry scored a penalty and had some nice moments but was also a wee bit cocky at times, I thought, which occasionally resulted in sloppy passes or losing possession.
  9. Yes.
  10. It's a tough balancing act for the manager because we can't afford a whole team of finished articles and can't field a team of 'projects' either.
  11. Pining after old wingers, who really weren't up to scratch, is de rigueur on here. I'm so glad I won't have to watch Candeias putting in a woeful cross or Kent doing a wee fancy trick before passing it back to Barisic ever again.
  12. I think playing the 'high press' constantly takes it out of players and it can't be sustained season after season. Liverpool being a prime example of this.
  13. Ideally, we qualify for the CL, finish third and go into the EL knockout rounds. We got a really tough CL group draw last year - there are teams in the CL we can compete with and we won't have GvB's dismal attitude this time (admitting we can't compete at that level after one match was utterly pathetic).
  14. I agree but he's past his best and I don't think he has much of a winning mentality.
  15. With attackers who score more goals, which I'm hoping we've already done. I'm sick of hearing about Tav's attacking stats. His defending capabilities are not good enough.
  16. He's part of the problem, not the solution. We need better full-backs.
  17. I don't think we'll win the league, which is very depressing.
  18. Here's hoping we see a better performance than we did against Olympiacos. But remember folks, it's only a friendly.
  19. Agreed. It's like tolerating vermin in your house.
  20. Barisic, Davies and Tav can't defend. Sweepstake over.
  21. Totally agree with the rest of your post but you've omitted the rather important fixtures against Genk or Servette, which will have rather significant financial implications.
  22. The wages Fulham can offer will be considerably more than what we can.
  23. Still nine days and another friendly until we play a competitive match. If we look as disjointed after 30+ minutes at Rugby Park, then I'll start getting a bit concerned.
  24. I can never understand people taking pre-season friendlies so seriously. It's just a glorified work out.
  25. You want crossers on the pitch and were talking up 'Angeball' on the general footy section earlier.
