  1. As well as being highly amusing, I think this particular quote really sums up the La La Land in which the majority of Scottish Nationalists reside. Bampots!
  2. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-68626430 "Think back to the 2019 election campaign. Quite reasonably, you may not remember every detail of the Conservatives' manifesto - but perhaps you do recall one promise: to reduce immigration. Think back further, to 2016 and the Brexit referendum. Then there was a promise to "take back control" of the UK immigration system. And since it left the EU in 2020, the UK does have more control. But the numbers of people who've moved here didn't go down, they went up. Since the Brexit vote and the Conservatives' victory in 2019, the 12 months to June 2022 saw the fastest population growth since the 1960s. Current projections from the Office for National Statistics put the UK on course for 74 million people by 2036 - six million more than there are today. You'd be well within your rights to ask how that could be? The answer, according to the ONS, is largely immigration. And one aspect of immigration has received huge amounts of attention from the government and the media. Statement after statement, story after story, has focused on migrants crossing the Channel in small boats - and the government's efforts to stop them. Indeed you'd be forgiven for thinking small boats are a major part of why immigration is up. But they aren't. No doubt, small boats are an important issue - on a human and national level. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has made "stopping the boats" one of his five priorities. His government's flagship Rwanda plan aims to send some asylum seekers who arrive on small boats there - and Mr Sunak is still trying to get the bill through parliament. But it's not small boats that are driving an increase in immigration - it's choices made by the government.".
  3. There was a big Rangers crest placed over the Hearts crest in the Hearts dressing room, which you can see in some pics/footage*. There's no indication the Rangers players/staff left it there, so I have no idea what the problem is. All seems a bit petty. *I don't normally look at pics/footage of women's changing rooms...honest.
  4. I watched the last 10 minutes and it was good to see them win.
  5. Channel 4 doesn't have regional channels, so it couldn't do that. Viaplay won the rights to show Scotland matches.
  6. That's not England's fault though. And McGinn did say "Channel 3", which is probably a reflection of his IQ.
  7. If the repatriated themselves to dear ol' Oirland, they'd be EU citizens again, be free of H*ns, the Butcher's Apron, Westmonster, Tories and flights and ferries to Dublin really are quite inexpensive. One wonders why they remain? I mean, the famine is over, isn't it.
  8. This album is 50 years old today and what an amazing album it is!
  9. James Carr is an underrated singer. I love the lyrics in this tune, reminds me early Mick Jagger lyrics.
  10. I'm going to put others on ignore, then moan about them ignoring me and also incessantly accuse them of residing in echo chambers, said the East German to the Scotsman.
  11. A good article about a growing problem. https://www.spiked-online.com/2024/03/23/the-anti-blasphemy-bigots-must-be-confronted/ "Iqbal Sacranie – a leading anti-Rushdie activist, who once said ‘death, perhaps, [was] a bit too easy’ a sentence for the author – went on to found the Muslim Council of Britain. (In 2005, Tony Blair gave him a knighthood.) The Muslim Action Forum, Meleagrou-Hitchens notes, also has its roots in the Rushdie Affair, and today is the semi-respectable face of anti-blasphemy activism in the UK, mobilising against blasphemy while condemning violence.". Religious adherents who have a problem with blasphemy must have a pretty flimsy sort of faith. If God is real and Jesus/Mohammed are so good, then what does it matter what Salman Rushdie or Dave down the Nag's Head say or think? And Tony Blair's a c*** as well.
  12. I've heard it used positively during DEI meetings. They think they are superior, as they're fixated on social justice, lived experience and protected characteristics but in reality, they cause as much division and hatred as those they hate (gammons, brexiteers, stale pale males, the patriarchy etc.). Steer clear of labels and you stand a better chance of being listened to.
  13. Aren't we all being a little presumptuous here? Just because he got subbed off doesn't necessarily mean he won't be fit for Hibs. Mind you, he is a Rangers player, so he'll probably be out until the start of next season.
  14. It was Islamists, according to what I've read.

  16. I wonder when, if ever, the term 'woke' will be consigned to the bin. People who claim to be it just sound like idiots and the same goes for people who use it in a derogatory manner. It's meaningless.
  17. Oranje victory against the SNP/SFA twats. 😃🇳🇱
  18. My dad called me a stuffy old git for moaning about the drum. He's into punk music, so I think we're seeing a pattern where people who like music that's played poorly, by childlike characters, approve of the drumming but people who like musicianship to be of a credible standard are more likely to disapprove. Just an observation.
  19. I must've listened to the three Marc Ford era ('92 - '96) albums hundreds of times but still love them. Some of the other albums can get a bit wearing and Robinson's voice has matured a fair bit since then. The two brothers can't seem to keep a band together for long (I can definitely relate - we're looking for a new singer at the moment).
  20. After a quick Google search, I think you're correct. I just based it on the name - silly me.
  21. Probably my favourite tune from the newly released Black Crowes' album.
  22. Gammon, toxic masculinity, Brexit etc. 🤣
