It is, so probably the first and most important decision apart from Manager is new investment.
-
As I was telling Warburton for the last 18 months, we need to start at the back, and in my opinion we will need a whole new back line.

This rag is getting worse, It's time there was a call to all Rangers Supporters to boycott. -
Someone who can organise and we should be able to achieve 2nd. Massive rebuild if we want to win anything, comes down to money and where it will come from.

Nottingham Forest is not the first job they have been interested in, seemingly the Fulham one last year.
-
Forest announced Gary Brazil a couple of days ago, take the job untill the end of the season. Forest are as big a shambles with their owner as we are, frying pan into the fire comes to mind.
-
Smith till the end of the season ?

Very surprised with Davie Weir. We are still left with a crap defence and players who probably came because of Warburton.

Mark Warburton is no longer Rangers manager after a week of sensational behind the scenes manoeuvres which saw the former Brentford boss and his assistant, David Weir, and head of recruitment, Frank McParland, have their resignations accepted by the Ibrox board before their agent attempted to have them reinstated. Confusion intensified on Friday night after reports suggested Warburton had denied he had resigned his post. Telegraph Sport, though, can reveal that Warburton and Weir were on the verge of dismissal – they would almost certainly have been gone next week – but by offering their resignations they have saved the club around £700,000. The contorted drama began on Tuesday when Warburton’s agent, Dave Lockwood, approached the Ibrox directors and asked for the trio to be released from their contracts, which had almost another year to run. The Rangers board convened on Wednesday and agreed to accept the management team’s resignations and the deal was agreed. They were, however, stunned to be approached by Lockwood again and asked if all three could remain in their posts. During this passage Warburton and Weir were strongly tipped for the vacant managerial positions at Nottingham Forest, but Gary Brazil and Jack Lester were on Friday put in charge at the City Ground until the end of the season. After Lockwood’s proposal that Warburton, Weir and McParland should remain at Ibrox, the Rangers board met and agreed that since their resignations had already been accepted, there should be no change in the club’s position. A statement on the club website read: “Rangers have accepted the resignations of manager Mark Warburton, assistant manager David Weir and the club’s head of recruitment Frank McParland. “At a meeting with the management team’s representative earlier this week the club were advised that Mr Warburton, Mr Weir and Mr McParland wished to resign their positions and leave the club on condition that Rangers agreed to waive its rights to substantial compensation. Rangers’ agreement to waive compensation would assist the management team to join another club. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/02/10/mark-warburton-resigns-asrangers-manager/

Rumour is they back tracked & said we didnt offer our resignation as it wasn't in writing. Rumour is the job they had lined up fell through.
-
That's what was meant, but he must be mad to go for NF job. @ibroxrocks Imagine if this was accepted on the Wednesday, then they realised the job they were leaving for wasn't there anymore. Imagine.
-
This sound right.. .. Imagine if a management team's agent informed a club on Monday that they were triggering the resignation clause in their contract. Imagine that said agent then attempted to withdraw that demand on the Thursday. Almost as if a job had fallen through. Imagine if the Chairman then got fed up and decided to call their bluff after seeing the Forest through the trees.... Yup, and imagine they tried to say verbal resignation didn't count without a letter and the club said 'aye, right'.

Heard anyhing about whats happened?

Mark Warburton will not be back at Rangers, regardless of what he says now. He offered his resignation, it's been accepted, & he'll leave

Kenny MacIntyre BBC Let's just say @RangersFC fans will be shocked as the details behind this story start to drip out.

I don't see it on official site.

Mark Warburton says he's unaware of #Rangers statement regarding his resignation. Says he hasn't resigned. Bizarre. BBC

What's happened since the press conference?
-
Plenty saying Warburton and Weir have resigned.

cwoodloyal on FF Been told that's he going back to Burnley. The same guy that told me is the same guy that has told me the majority of my info. What he has told me in the past has been 95% bang on the money.I posted last night McParland was in Dubai before the gaffer told us today in his press conference.

If half the stuff I've been reading is true, it's a mess.

In the Sun and posted on FF FRANK MCPARLAND is poised to quit Rangers amid unhappiness over his recruitment record and a lack of resources for signings. SunSport can reveal Mark Warburton’s trusted chief talent spotter has grown disillusioned with operating to a severely limited transfer budget – amid also interest in him from several English clubs. But balancing that is boardroom disquiet with what directors see as a lack of value from a number of signings brought in last summer, including the disastrous Joey Barton episode, the currently crocked Niko Kranjcar, Philippe Senderos and Joe Garner, just three goals in 20 games. The possibly imminent departure of former Liverpool scout McParland would be a serious blow for the under pressure Warburton who’s going into a must win Scottish Cup fifth round tie against Morton at Ibrox on Sunday. There’s been speculation defeat would see the Londoner sacked following a hammering by Hearts and a draw against Ross County which has seen the Gers drop to third behind Aberdeen – with both now a whopping 27 points behind runaway leaders Celtic. Ironically, Warburton is believed to be currently in London for discussions with a signing target. Adding to the behind the scenes turmoil – with chairman Dave King nowhere to be seen – is the fact defender Rob Kiernan is now considering his Gers future after being targeted for verbal abuse from a number of bitter fans at half time of Saturday’s game against County. Kiernan had been left out of the 18-man squad following a number of poor performances and mistakes and was in the main stand. It wasn’t the first time he’s suffered stick from aggrieved supporters and he’s now weighing up the possibility of leaving at the end of the season. Kiernan’s under contract until 2018. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/561620/frank-mcparland-set-to-quit-rangers-amid-budget-concerns-and-boardroom-unease-at-signings/

Ralston in the Record: MW on borrowed time
chilledbear replied to Oleg_Mcnoleg's topic in Rangers Chat
Seems strange if the Board are giving stories to the media (KJ), for the same media to be less than complemetery about the Board. There is either a split in the Board with one side feeding stories against the other, or they are coming from someone close to the Manager.
