  1. Thanks for posting the links to the goals. Always good to keep tabs on the youngsters, I’ve got a lot of faith in the academy guys just now.
  2. Yes they’ve been ridiculously lucky to snatch a goal at all in all 3 games because they barely went looking for one
  3. Only 1 out of 6 Daily Record writers fancies us to win tonight, but I've heard he's Rangers mad..........Keith Jackson ? https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/who-win-aberdeen-vs-rangers-13960530
  4. I don't understand how Middleton isn't making the 18 man squad. That leaves us with only two wingers! I find this frustrating because in his second last appearance for us he provided a crucial assist at St Johnstone. He's an obvious impact player when you need a goal. And what happens if Kent or Candeias get injured? Not happy about that one because sometimes the cutting inside from the left just doesn't work and you need to change it up and try and get some crosses in, something which Kent doesn't really do.
  5. They had 1 shot on target in the 1-1 game but they had 2 shots on target for the past two games so 5 overall.
  6. I haven't really noticed, but my problem with this is that we never recruit players who are good at long shots. I think we should always have a long shot specialist in the team. I wouldn't say any of our standard midfield 5 are good at long shots. Dorrans is pretty good, Halliday is decent at it too and probably Defoe but aside from that I think I'd rather they didn't unless there's a genuine opening.
  7. We've had good luck here again. McKenna is a huge miss for them and Lewis and Cosgrove will play but they won't be 100%.
  8. It will be fascinating to see how we set up because it's the first real test of whether he sees Defoe as part of his starting 11. As I've said in previous matches I think we show diddies like Aberdeen too much respect and I'd be happy to see a 4-4-2 with a midfield two of Jack and Arfield. I fear the 4-5-1 will make for a pretty boring spectacle with two teams bog down in an over-crowded centre mid. I'm not convinced we have the creativity necessary to make it work. It worked to an extent at Hibs because they came out and weren't nearly good enough to do so. But you can't count on Aberdeen doing that. Having said that, Celtic put 4 past them at Pittodrie, but that was with a 4-2-3-1 that had far more attacking/creative players in it than ours has.
  9. I agree the diamond won't be deployed, but ironically the diamond was Murty's masterstroke against Aberdeen last season when he did the double over them.
  10. Found this interesting. I found the discussions regarding formation interesting and mirrored some of what we've discussed on here. 4-3-3 hasn't been successful enough to be untouchable and especially in games like these it's good to experiment a bit. I think they mentioned that we looked a bit better in a more conventional 4-4-2 than we did in the diamond which I think we probably were, although possibly due to Jack and Candeias being on for McCrorie and Davis who both disappointed. Intersting too that the same debate over Morelos's attitude came up, which was just as divisive as it was on here with two of the 3 not keen to hear anything negative said about him just as many on here weren't.
  11. He was one of those players who didn't even look good on YouTube. I remember being excited to watch a youtube compilation of him when I heard his exotic name and the amount we were paying for and just thinking my word Michael O'Halloran has a better Youtube compilation than that what is going on.
  12. Can only hope it's saved the club some money
  13. I always thought it was where the foul initially occurred but I've googled it quickly and it looks like you're right. In which case I don't think any of the penalties are wrong.
  14. I watched the game last night and he eventually ran over so the article was very inaccurate, although he was probably the least enthusiastic Rangers player for most of the goals.
  15. My understanding is that the free kick should be given where the offence, especially a hand ball, first occurred?
  16. Very sorry to hear @Big Jaws, condolences to all the family.
  17. It's a ridiculous comparison. Jones' dive was embarrassing and fully deserving of a ban, the defender didn't even make a challenge he just fell over as he ran by him. The defender did make a challenge on Defoe, he stuck out his leg after the ball had gone past and blocked his path. It's ridiculous to give those comments so much coverage.
  18. Why don't they compare Tansey's rugby tackle to some of the minor offences we've had yellow cards for and ask why wasn't he given a yellow card? The hand ball was well outside the box but the Candeias one from memory he had every right to try and stay on his feet (as he always does) and give up and go down when he did.
  19. Yes I forgot when I wrote my comment that they added players after playing us. However Mulumbu will be (to put it kindly) very well rested so may take time to get back up to speed.
  20. Middleton playing most of the game, he really has fallen out of favour. On the other hand it's good that he's keeping fit whilst waiting for his chance to get another run of games.
  21. I agree. There was debate on FF after someone compared him to Michael Mols after the match. I think at this stage his primary attributes are very much physical whereas the technical side of his game needs a lot of work, and in all honesty will never reach Mols level.
  22. It's more worrying for me because of how open he has been about having an eye on his next move. I'm worried that he could become more concerned about his goals tally than our points tally.
  23. He can't possibly keep up with the players he has. He has worked wonders for a second season in a row but with Stewart away I think they'll start to slip down the table. Our failure to beat them was a big one.
  24. From memory Jones went down without any excuse whatsoever, can't be compared to the Defoe incident where the the defender did stick out his leg.
