  1. Betis (home) defeat Prague (away) draw Aris (home) win Aris (away) draw Prague (home) draw Betis (away) defeat Total: 6 points
  2. No. If England bother to put in the effort, they would win 4-0. As it's a friendly to them, I suspect we'll sneak a draw.
  3. It is actually him in a QPR tracksuit. Eagle eyed bears spotted that he had changed it to this from a pic in his Rangers suit and tie. But yeah, hot air IMO.
  4. Because, of his nine new posts only one had any likes 😆
  5. Gazza, had a massive impact on Scottish Football and everyone and everthing that came into contact with him.
  6. His free kick assist was for their 4th goal. They were already 3-0 up when he came on.
  7. I would agree. I don't think they have their heads in the sand. They must be working through processes so that we're not starting from a position of denial to having to hire a new manager when that time comes.
  8. Yes, I remember the 2020 AGM, when they outlined the 4 pillars: 1. Tickets sales (we've done our bit there I'd say). 2. Commercial (Bisgrove increased that from a low base, but there's much more potential). 3. European income (We have had a few good years, the EL final run and CL qual. is about our limit), but we're not going to get that unless we invest in a manager and team that can achieve that success. 4. Player Trading (one decent year when we sold Paterson, Aribo and Bassey), but again is linked with success on the park. This year was poor because we held onto players too long and we were shit last year. The last two pillars have the most potential - but they need to find investment somehow to make those happen. And when they do, they need to continue to strengthen and go again. Hoping our managers have fairy dust or a magic hat, or hoping our rivals slip up, won't get us to where we need to be.
  9. Okay, what happens when we don't have success on the park? players' value decreases, which will happen especially when they can't lock down a place in the team, get injured, or the team keep failing to win trophies. The transfer kitty will quickly erode year-on-year. Player trading doesn't work when the team fails and academy players, like Paterson, breaking through is very rare. Balancing the books now and again is required I get that, but if we want to challenge for the money on offer from CL participation, they need to find a way. Again, if not, we have to rely our rivals having a really poor season (Lennon) or we accept that we will be the #2 team in Scotland, happy with the odd cup success. Maybe we form a new firm with St Johnstone.
  10. I'd also use the quote “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results”. Therefore, the strategy behind the next appointment has to be different.
  11. So are you saying that the board should allow the same time and patience given to Gerrard, i.e. 2 seasons to show continual progress, win a title in yr3? Aren't we beyond that stage in the clubs development now though? do we give every new manager 3 yrs to win a title? I agree with you regarding 'those upstairs', this is their mess to be honest. They haven't really backed any manager financially: Gerrard left due to the lack of funds to kick-on from 55. Gio wasn't backed, although he maintained he had the right squad (blinkered by the EL run and momentum built from Gerrard reign), that ultimately lost him his job. Beale has not been backed, books have just been balanced and arguably we are weaker as a result (I'm comparing quality of players that came in versus those that left rather than form in the last season or so). Whilst I don't think Beale has been given the tools i.e. the quality he was able to bring in, I don't think he has the managerial competence to manage us anyway. But again, it was a fairly easy and economical option by the board to hire Beale in the first place. We need a winning strategy from the board particularly in terms of financial investment and recruitment (DoF, manager, scouting). And yes, they may have to dip deep into their pockets again, but the rewards and returns are there if they do.
  12. He's 68. The only trophy he's won in football is the Championship with Leeds. Not a great legacy for a manager of his standing and reputation. Maybe he would like to win the Europa league with Rangers? 😜
  13. Are you saying that because of our league or we couldn't afford him?
  14. There's no denying his talent, I would agree. His english is not good (Pochettino's English is far better), and I'm sure I've heard him admitting as much.
  15. Just what we need, a manager only able to communicate with the players through a translator. No thanks.
  16. I know, refs are part time. I was being tongue in cheek about his career ending with one more mistake.
  17. Me too. If we get a manager who knows what they're doing, I would expect him to start by building a strong foundation. We have a good keeper now, so the next thing we need is a complete new back 4. That would have to be the priority for any new manager in January.
  18. I wonder what career Robertson will choose now then?
  19. Croatia window closes tomorrow night. If we can get £1m for him now, I wouldn't be opposed to it. Leaves us short at LB, but Ridvan is no worse. We have Sterling as back up.
