  1. Happy with that lineup. I wanted Matondo to start as I think it will help us counter and create chances, and not just in the last 20 or 30 mins. I think it's the right game for Lundstram with his physicality and aggression.
  2. Referee this evening is José María Sánchez Martínez from Spain. Looking at his stats, he likes to flash a lot of cards. Was the ref when we beat Lech Poznan away (0-2), yellows for Balogun and Zungu, none for the Poles.
  3. Did you not watch our run to the final of the Mickey Mouse League two years ago? Or did you not give a Donald Duck?
  4. Compo, I can't believe you asked that question. Where have you been, stranded on a deserted island or what?
  5. I'd expect a back 3/5 tomorrow, with Lundstram dropping into the hole. We need Matondo and Sima providing pace and width from the off although I feel Beale will save Matondo for later in the game. Danilo to start. Just a hunch, but I think Beale will give him a chance tomorrow tonight. Butland Goldson Lundstram Souttar Tav Barisic Raskin Cantwell Sima Danilo Matondo
  6. Good luck to Leon. I don't think a loan move has ever worked out for any of our young lads (McGregor may be the only success story in the last 20 years) it's just a slow process of them leaving Rangers.
  7. Yeah, surprised me too! Contract until 2026. So I think a loan could be a good option. It allows us to see how he does and if well, it's a win/win. If he doesn't then at least we know if he has a future here or not. When was the last time that we sent someone on loan, who then came back and made the team stronger?
  8. Souttar deseves it across the 90 minutes. Tav, Roofe, Lundstram, Matondo notable mentions. Okay, I'll even say Borna did very well (at times), but I still want more from him.
  9. Absolutely, or if he does really well with regular playing time on loan, we could have a player back that would be like a new signing. Or we sell him for more money (Tillman a good example)
  10. Actually, they killed the 'Old Firm' and are accusing us of killing the 'derby' - just morons. End of.
  11. Easy win today. Just what we needed ahead of Wednesday. The first goal is the type that only Roofe can score, and what do you say about Tav's individual effort?? Maybe our Captain is going to have a great season and lead us to the title.
  12. So what are the names out there? And don't say Eden Hazard. I'm not sure it's Harry Souttar as Beale already rejected that as lazy reporting, and he was on record as saying if there was one more signing it would be a Ryan Kent type replacement. Who have we been linked with that fits that bill? I can't think of anyone other than Luis Palma, but nothing materialised there and he's now linked with that mob. So who is the 'little bit of truth' that Beale is referring to?
  13. The takeover is imminent Bill, everything is clicking into place
  14. Agreed. I'm not an expert but Bill the Butcher was a nativist (see the Milan group using the same word meaning) who was intent on protecting the interests of native-born or 'established inhabitants' against those of immigrants, in this case Irish catholics during the great famine, but I think that's largely incidental. However, it could have been used by Milan Ultras (I don't know) to demonstrate their status as the true natives of Milan, since they were founded before their rivals. Think it shows great creativity and intimidation by a group that self-find these great Tifos and displays, and should be allowed to create what they like within the law. What do that other mob do? Childish effigies and offensive and unlawful banners. Glad we don't stoop so low.
  15. Gang of firefighters relevant, I wonder?
  16. Not sure many would agree with you on that. They tried their best, battled as well as they could, there was no lack of effort, but excellent at defending?? You were watching a different game.
  17. When we play at this level, there are a few weak positions - add Tav and BB to that list.
  18. I don't know if you've seen the game back yet John. Regarding Dessers, the truth is somewhere in between what you heard on the radio and read in here. I think we are all very elated that we end the night still in contention. Dessers contribution to that with two assists, one being a world class, perfectly timed and weighted pass to Matondo, have glossed over some other issues that persisted. His movement off the ball could have been much better and should have anticipated better positions when players needed support playing out or indeed getting close to dangerous cross that he should have been on the end of, especially first half. Our defence worked hard, I mean our CBs. Tav and BB, aka Laurel and Hardy, were indeed very ineffectual on the night, but fully expected against the pacy PSV wide men. They are both really out of their depth against this level of competition. Overall, it was a good game plan executed well. We didn't have much possession, but we did well with what we had and I'd argue had the better chances than PSV. We were unlucky not to have won the game. Danilo sclaffed a late chance that just required a wee dink over the legs of their keeper and defender from one yard out. Matondo truly could be the player Kent was in his peak...and more. He's really been re-born this season.
  19. So what about our 4 new forwards? They seem to be vying for the infamous Van Vossen 'Sitter of the Season' award. On the bright side, there are goals in all of them. I feel they've each shown glimpses of what they are capable of and I think they just need time to settle in.
